Australia India Tipping Competition

First topic message reminder :

I know it's rather late but if you can get your picks in during the next few hours... early morning UK time... then it will be good to go.

A more watered down version; just 2 batsmen, 2 bowlers from each side and the match winner or select draw.
Won't do the wicket keeper catches this time but they can get points through c/b or stumpings on top of their runs scored. See below.

- score 1 point = 1 run. Bonus 25 points for 100 runs. 50 point bonus for a double. 100 extra points for 300 runs.
- score 25 points = 1 wicket. 5-for an extra 50 points on top of 125 points = 175. 10-for; an extra 100 = 350. 35 points for a caught & bowled.
- score 20 points for a catch (any of your 4 batsmen/bowlers) 35 points for a caught & bowled. 25 points for a run out (fielder). 30 for a direct hit.
- for above: except if you have chosen a w/k in your four; then 10 points for each caught behind, 20 points for a stumping.

Pick the correct result - win or draw each Test = 50 points

Dolphin has been the most consistent performer throughout the 3rd Test and holds a 59 point lead.
James, JDizzle and Alfie have been piling on the points too and have shot up the ranks. Olly is not far behind and is still above par.
The rest of us... well, it's quite a tussle... or struggle in my case. Guildford - don't worry... I'll close the door before being the last one out.

A hearty congratulations to KPF and Kumar on India retaining the Border Gavaskar Trophy.      
I have a strong feeling it will even get better for you here in Sydney and your team will have massive local support. Only wish you could be here... it would be fantastic to be part of that winning atmosphere.

Wishing everyone enjoyable New Year celebrations. Think I'll watch the "Ode to Aretha Franklin" at home tonight and really start sweating over the inevitable aftermath at the SCG.... as India conquer their Final Frontier. Doo do do... d' dooooooooo!!! (the sound of victory horns)

Got to put Mrs Bat's holiday money on a couple of 50/1 outsiders and hope they come in! No point me going safe at this stage. I'll therefore stick with the same selections as for the third Test including Finchy and Ishant if they play - let's face it, no one else here is going to pick 'em! Huge disappointments so far, particularly the Surrey man - I fear his finger and confidence are shot.

If they don't make the cut,  I'll have Harris and Ashwin (Shami if he also misses out).

Btw, a typically restrained but highly effective performance here from one member of the Surrey mafia at least - James. After a dodgy start, he binned Ishant and Finchy - no Surrey sentiment there! - and has climbed the table.

Edit: only fair to flag that Surrey man Olly also doing more than ok.

Cheers Guildford, though I've actually had Ishant for every Test! (I think) He did me pretty well in the second game.

I'll resist the urge to bin Rahane so my only change will be to my Indian bowlers. Not knowing who's going to play, I'll go for a list - Ashwin, Jadeja, Ishant, Bumrah (the first two of those who are selected)

I forgot to say before - India to win the last Test. Much as I admire Australia's bowlers and the way they complement each other, their batting is currently too fragile.

Well, the series was well fought and quite interesting. It was made more interesting by Pal, who brought a brilliant game here on board. Many Many thanks Pal. We all enjoyed the game a lot. Cheers James. You were only 3 points behind Dolphin after day 3. Anything could have happened after that if the match wasn't affected by rain. None of us went for the draw although you, Dolph, JD, Kumar and KPF all would have got the extra 50 points if India had deservedly won.
