Australia India Tipping Competition
First topic message reminder :
I know it's rather late but if you can get your picks in during the next few hours... early morning UK time... then it will be good to go.
A more watered down version; just 2 batsmen, 2 bowlers from each side and the match winner or select draw.
Won't do the wicket keeper catches this time but they can get points through c/b or stumpings on top of their runs scored. See below.
- score 1 point = 1 run. Bonus 25 points for 100 runs. 50 point bonus for a double. 100 extra points for 300 runs.
- score 25 points = 1 wicket. 5-for an extra 50 points on top of 125 points = 175. 10-for; an extra 100 = 350. 35 points for a caught & bowled.
- score 20 points for a catch (any of your 4 batsmen/bowlers) 35 points for a caught & bowled. 25 points for a run out (fielder). 30 for a direct hit.
- for above: except if you have chosen a w/k in your four; then 10 points for each caught behind, 20 points for a stumping.
Pick the correct result - win or draw each Test = 50 points
Here are the lineups:
Australia:
Harris, Khawaja, Labuschagne, S Marsh, Head, Handscomb,
Paine (capt & wk), Cummins, Starc, Lyon, Hazlewood
India:
Agarwal, Rahul, Pujara, Kohli (capt), Rahane, Vihari,
Pant (wk), Jadeja, Kuldeep, Shami, Bumrah

Thanks Alfie, Guildford and KPF. It is quite dramatic watching the day to day fluctuations.
Now the spreadsheet is set up it's very easy to whack in new player names and adjust the formulas.
In review:
-maybe catches are a little over-weighted... 80% of a bowler's wicket is perhaps too much. Or make a wicket 30?
-could introduce bonus points for a 50... and maybe re-look at 100, 150, 200, etc
-need to look at points for caught & bowled too. 25 for the bowler's wicket + 20 for bowler's catch... but I also added another 15 points (to make the 35 points as stated in the OP) for the effort. 60 points is far too over-weighted... maybe only 40 or 45 points would be fairer?
-generally works well though.
