Violent crime is rising here without standard of living rises..
Problem for Trump is the rust belt standards aren't rising as quickly as non Bellwether states.

Neither the UK nor the USA trouble the top 15 on the world happiness scale. I would have thought happiness is more important than standard of living.

Ifop poll..
LePen 28% +5
Macron 28% -8
Pound shop Blair is being found out and extreme Parties are thriving.
Find it very ignorant when Commentators blame the people for Trump...Corbyn...LePen becoming electable etc...
If politics is broken it is the fault of the Politicians for neglecting the masses and taking them for granted..
If you aren't getting love from the usual sources you venture off elsewhere.
The Public is realising they don't have to suck it up anymore and it can only be a good thing.

Without sounding too much like Secretfly and putting on a tinfoil hat you have to wonder how much external forces are influencing the disruption and polarisation in the West at present. Not just in the rise of the Far Right but to also fuel the Far Left. Play off both sides, create diversion and hatred whilst continue to grow in strength yourselves and the West are too embroiled in their own issues to intervene.

With the emergence and influence of “charitable think-tanks” like the Institute of Economic Affairs and the Tax Payer Alliance who refuse to reveal where they get their funding from, it certainly pays a degree of credibility to the NWO conspiracy theories. I just see what the endgame is unless they want WW3 between the left and right.

It is just a case of when, not if, the Front National candidate gets elected to the French Presidency. Fourth in 2007, third in 2012, second in 2017. Macron was a punt on something different by the French after they rejected the usual offering - and he has spectacularly failed.
Expecting more gains, also, for the so-called 'extreme-left' and 'far-right' parties across the continent in the upcoming EP elections.

Not sure if it should be Thornberry who takes over. But someone, anyone, preferably someone who is capable of taking and debating a stance, please...
The latest stance of the cult is that the pollsters are biased. They just don't get it that outside of the cult the people they would actually need to vote for Labour to get them into power just don't want to know. They complain that all the anti JC rhetoric is helping to keep the Tories in power, but in reality it is their unquestioning belief in magic grandad that is the biggest problem.
Meanwhile the much derided and dreaded centrists (i.e. the bulk of the population) don't actually know where to vote, and both Tories and Conservatives seem to be gambling that enough will fall their way to get/keep them in power.
It is just a disaster at the moment. If there was a GE tomorrow I'd bet that neither party would get anywhere near a majority, and I struggle to see how either could form a meaningful coalition. Nobody will want to work with the Tories, and I can't see JC working with anyone else. So - total gridlock with one man standing in the way of any resolution.

I cannot see it. And in any case a GE would be the sack for May as she has already said she will not lead the terrible Tories into the next election. Once it is called she will be replaced.

This is as a result of Watergate though isn't it? Governments with closer ties to some of the press so as not to rock the boat, let the cat out of the bag, upset the applecart?
"Follow the money" it was said. So many stinky money trails now it seems that loads from all sides must be involved.

Just think that over the last few years journalists are being overriden by Media Barons to push an agenda at all costs hence we are getting Commentary instead of journalism..
Isn't helping with a huge bias in favour of Govt here and against Govt in the USA..

"Ms Hodge said: “It is a scandal, a total scandal that the public sector has privatised these projects so badly. We have all been ripped off.”
The Labour MP acknowledged that many of the worst PFI and PPP cases were negotiated by the Labour government under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, saying: “I’m afraid we got it wrong. I was a supporter at the time but I have completely gone off the whole concept. We got seduced by PFI.”
She added that it was especially “scandalous” that many of the funds that are buying up the contracts are based in tax havens. One of the early arguments in favour of PFIs was that taxpayers would benefit from contractors’ profits due to the corporation taxes they would pay. “But now the profits are going offshore and to shareholders,” she said."
So they got it wrong. Several hundred times it seems. Wonder what else they got wrong. Be easier to list what they got right I spose. Can't think of anything at the mo.

"Failed London Garden Bridge project cost £53m
A failed plan to build a bridge covered with trees and flowers over the River Thames in central London cost a total of £53m, it has been revealed.
A Transport for London (TfL) inquiry showed the Garden Bridge Trust spent £161,000 on a website and £417,000 on a gala for the abandoned project.
The design of the bridge cost more than £9m and the charity paid its executives £1.7m.
Around £43m came from the public's pocket, TfL added."

Another issue is that there are fewer journalists expected to provide more product, so have far less time to work on developing stories, or even the knowledge around stories. Niche areas of journalism have suffered worst (things like science reporting), with generalists taking over from the specialists who had some background knowledge and understanding of their subject matter. The result has been journalism by press release with no informed scrutiny on the part of the journalist / paper prior to publication.

I don't remember suggesting all kids should vote Labour..
But in fairness to Labour they have embraced a voting bracket that replenishes itself.....By endorsing their march...
If the Tories had any brains...Rather than call them truants they would have admired their dedication while pointing out how important missing school is..
But like their voters they are naive and intellectually challenged...

Funny thing about these marches....The point of view tends to be dependent on which Party you support..
Good luck to the kids...If trying to get this shambles to focus on Green issues is served by missing the odd day then so be it...

You really are pathetic. A needlessly inflammatory, defamatory and trolling comment.

Are all those that go on strike truants? I assume that you're enjoying some mandatory leave from your job every year, that your family takes advantage of maternity/paternity leave, that you enjoy safe, regulated working conditions with a cap on your hours. All won for you by unions who use strikes to get what they want for their workers.
But they're all workshy truants, right?
Civil disobedience is completely necessary when dealing with the potential eradication of the natural world.

Good. The end of the rotten, bigoted, anti-semitic Labour Party as a serious electoral force.
You really are pathetic. A needlessly inflammatory, defamatory and trolling comment.
Prove to me that the Labour party is bigoted.
The fact that you need to say things like this, while throwing your toys out of the pram when people like Julius call you out on your BS really does show the level of your debate.

That's the best rebuttal you can come up with? Why even bother replying?

I must bow to your opinion, school kids striking is pathetic, it affects nobody but themselves. Workers striking affects the means of production which is why it has worked for them in the past.
