Agree about Xander, but he didn't put that non-conforming driver in play this week. By the by: Callaway gave great Tour bags to their US Open pros - not sure whether it's an every-major kind of thing, but the Pebble Beach ones looked the business!

Regarding Faldo, I think it's telling that the only golfers he ever refers to in his commentary are Seve & Jack Nicklaus - as if he was always an outsider when he played and never heard any stories/anecdotes to pass on.
I DO think he makes some pretty astute comments & observations though.

Tommy Fleetwood needs to stitch four rounds together for a change. Westwood too of course, though can't see either winning.
Not sure what price Jon Rahm is at, but would love him each way at 20's or longer. US books have him at 14's which seems a touch short for being four strokes back.

Agree regarding Fleetwood, surprising it’s been 18 months since he won but he seems to struggle with weekend golf

If super's watching any of NBC's TV coverage this morning, he'd be seeting at the pretty much American-only coverage. Thought Jacobsen had been pensioned off but he's back with his stars and stripes yuuups. Just awful. And Justin Leonard tip-toeing in his footsteps.

You wouldn't know it from NBC's coverage, but very happy to see Danny Willett, tied for the round of the day after ten holes. S'pose it would be a fitting place for Danny Boy to be in the shake-up.

To be fair to Faldo, Murray was asking him a lot of “how did you” type questions.
Scoring is getting better as the wind dies down a bit. A bit unfortunate for the earlier starters.

Whilst that may be true, it doesn't exonerate Schauffele and the morons at Callaway for not knowing this was non-conformant. 'Course, they probably did.

Its on both of them. If he played with an illegal club, he would have faced the penalty. Its his responsibility what goes in his club,its his responsibility to know that he doesn't face the risk of disqualification.

And why isn't the R/A releasing all the test results? Rumors are that there were others that failed, which the R/A did not deny.

They carried out a test and decided it was non conforming. Get the same test done. If a test can be done, its his responsibility to get the clubs tested.

Suppose you buy some tires for your car. You don't test them.

And there is blow-out because they were defective. Is your fault that you didn't test them?
