Still no official word on withdrawals from the Memphis WGC - very strange.

Hadn't spotted that Andrea Pavan is teeing it up at the "Barracuda" in Reno along with Harrington & Kaymer and all the usual (European) suspects, Laird, Blixt, Power etc.

I see the I Trump twitter feed is congratulating Johnson in his election as Prime Minister of the United Kingston.

Never really thought Kingston was that United, but there you go . . . . .

Rotoworld reports that Lowry's withdrawal is now official, with the commentary that:
"He's in no state to get back on the course just yet."
What do they know that we don't? Would have thought that Shane would have one of the better constitutions on Tour to handle anything and everything that's chucked down his gullet.

He is still on the pi$$. Homecoming in Clara, co. Offaly tonight. Celebrations not over yet, proper order too.

Chucking a club like that at someone without looking shows you have no concern for their wellbeing.

He's not the only one Mac who behaves disgracefully, but you seem to let them off. Bubba Watson and Matt Wallace for example. Everyone would think you just had an agenda.

Bubba and Wallace had arguments with their caddies, segio threw a club at his. A bit of a difference.

Sergio also has a history of equally pea brained incidents.

Obviously it was the wrong club so the caddy must take resposibility.




Ok that was a joke.

Imagine an normal employer/employee relationship where a club was thrown at one of them, dismissal would be a given and criminal proceedings not unlikely.

"Segio"? I should have taken S_R up on a language challenge with you. Sergio lobbed his club sideways, without looking. I don't think he "threw it at him", which is what you're saying. Try dropping your agenda, and being objective and accurate for once.

That his behaviour was indeed stupid, that he didn't "throw his club at his caddie" and very few people really give a damn. Doesn't matter; you won't change your agenda re. Garcia.

This is weird, Garcia constantly exhibits boned headed behavior and yet the problem is me mentioning it.  Saying I have an agenda is giving the on course antics of Sergio a gravitas well beyond what they deserve. 


But to be fair could you please list the golfers who have a similar number of instances of appalling behavior as Garcia and I will condemn them.

On this board the above comment will be seen as "having an agenda" but out in the real world the reaction to Sergio throwing/chucking/lobbing/hurling (whatever you want to call it) his club at his caddie has been almost universally condemned.

I don't dispute his behaviour is/has been poor; the same as I don't dispute your continued harping about him is an agenda. Not asking you to stop; just to admit that you're not even-handed in your criticisms here, or elsewhere for that matter.

To say I am not being even handed suggests you think there is another player with the same record of petulance and moronic behaviour as Sergio. If you could point these players out I will happily admit to failing to be consistent between my treatment of them and Sergio.

Anyone that hates sergio is good in my book. 

The BBC seems to think that the 2026 Ryder Cup being staged at Limerick's Adare Manor is a done deal.

Its all over the news here too. Amazing venue, beautiful hotel.

Adare is the biggest bottleneck in Ireland though. Hope they build a bypass first.

Why does that surprise you? Would have thought that falling apart in the first British Open in over 50 years in one of his local courses would fairly obviously be pretty upsetting.

I don't see any sense in lying. Lowry admitted to crying in the car park after missing the cut in the open last year and then won it this year.

Just by looking at McIlroys face it was pretty obvious he was really struggling.

Surely having one of his mates as a caddy isn't the wisest of strategies for a start.

I am not sure he would have to lie about crying on the course, just that he has no obligation to tell anyone about it.  


As for his caddy, I think I mentioned that I got the chance to see him work close up at the Scottish open and it was painful.  On a course playing exceptionally easy where the danger you had to mitigate was minimal his caddy kept giving him advice that put Rory in the few danger zones that existed. 18 at the Open was another example of poor caddying where his caddy failed to notice how strong the wind off the right was.  After the round Rory said he hadn't realised how strong the wind was while at the time I heard Casey's caddy identify the stronger wind and mad sure casey was aiming at the right hand side of the green.

He needs a caddy that will bully him into taking the correct choices and who can step in and help him read putts.  

Also does Rory's caddy scout the course beforehand?

Rory Mcilroy seems the last person who would want a caddie to bully him. He previously said he likes to make his own calls on the course. And not had a vad year has he?

Your caddy is sht says no mark to world number 3, with 2 wins this year.

Playing devils advocate here Ben, but could a “better” caddie have made that 5 or 6 wins and world number 1?
