I had a nice time catching up with my parents, who managed not to mention what a crushing disappointment to them for at least a couple of hours, which was great.

On a side note, I didn't realise Robert Gore was born in Utah either. I thought he was obviously from Texas.

I cannot find any connection to Texas so I am anxiously* awaiting an explanation from Galted as to the origin of the brand name.

I spoke to Sarah and Chris and their understanding is that the Tex comes from Technology. I didn't want to press them about the fact that there's no X in Technology due to their grief.

Perhaps Tino can confirm this with Robert when they meet?

I did a bit of reasearch and can confirm that the Tex bit comes from Brian Texture.  Business and (on one occassion) sexual partner of Robert Gore.
