Real men like me don't go to the pub to watch football. We watch at home sitting between the fridge and a bucket for pissing in.

I was at that game. Sat next to a future Brexit voter who was still incredibly angry about everything even when England were 4-0 up.

Tough draw for Ashley. As far as I'm aware he's never advocated machine-gunning boats full of refugees.

no but he has killed the high street, f**ked an entire football club and it's history, and put so many people on 0 hour contracts that have f**ked their lives completely.
The difference between Ashley and Hopkins is that Hopkins is incapable of following through with her bull *** whereas Ashley has the money and the influence to actually f**k people over.

That's the logic I used in voting for Ashley, that and wanting Rick to like me.
I nominated a total of 34 c*nts and I don't think a single one has made it through to the quarters which makes me think that Shah was right in nominating everyone from this forum.

I went the other way and voted for Hopkins. Firstly because I don't want riCKO to like me and secondly it was a petty act of revenge for ElonMuskgate.

I've only just recovered enough from the melancholy to post on here about it.
I can't find it atm but somewhere in the library of Bat Towers I have a book called something like ''Cricket's Lost Outgrounds''. It shows photos on a then and now basis of grounds which were used, particularly in the '60s and '70s, for professional county games maybe once or twice a season. Many of the grounds - particularly works grounds - which were once tended so magnificently are now abandoned and in a state of ruin.
For me though, one set of photos was even more upsetting. The ''then'' photo from the mid '70s shows the West Indian Gordon Greenidge and the South African Barry Richard going out to bat together for Hampshire in a home match at somewhere like Basingstoke. Instead of there being a plaque celebrating where two all time batting greats once played, the ''now'' photo shows a block of flats with a sign on the grass at the front instructing, ''No Ball Games''.

It has a certain poetic poignancy to it. It would make a good cover for the book.

Every round Mike Ashley gets through makes me more and more annoyed. Big smile when Sir Rod pulled out the balls and drew the pair together.

I'd heard of it before; then forgotten the precise definition - so I had to look it up again for clarification.
Some great pictures and diagrams of it can be found... but they're very difficult to unravel in the mind.
Have you seen UИHINGED, Tino? I've been told it's not as good as it could be and there are too many holes in the plot.
I think Falling Down was a 'classic' in the angry person over-reacting to trivial matters genre.

I have seen Unhinged, yes. It was the first film we went to see after lockdown 1 ended last year. It was either that or Tenet, they were about the only choices going at the cinema at the time. I thought it was pretty good actually. Crowe had a decent performance. There is one scene in a cafe that is brutally brilliant. Can't say too much as hopefully you'll watch it but it is a great turning point in the film.
It wasn't as good as Falling Down but very watchable.
I made the right choice though as I later watched Tenet at home and my god it was sh*te. It is basically a pompous version of Fast and Furious. The script is essentially car chase followed by fist fight followed by gun fight. Repeat.
It thinks it is way cleverer than it actually is.
