SURREY VS MIDDLESEX / SOMERSET/ GLAMORGAN/ SUSSEX/ HAMPSHIRE T20 VITALITY BLAST
First topic message reminder :
SURREY HAVE NAMED A SQUAD OF 15 FOR THE LONDON DERBY TRIP TO LORD’S TO FACE MIDDLESEX IN OUR OPENING FIXTURE IN THIS YEAR’S VITALITY BLAST.
England internationals Sam Curran, Tom Curran & Jason Roy are all named in a Surrey squad for the first time this season after serving their periods of isolation following an early return from the IPL.
Gareth Batty is expected to captain the side while pathway graduate Ben Geddes would make his senior debut for the Club should he be selected.
Rory Burns & Ollie Pope are unavailable as they prepare for the second Test with New Zealand, starting at Edgbaston on Thursday. Ben Foakes continues his recovery from the hamstring injury that ruled him out of that series.
Jade Dernbach and Liam Plunkett are both continuing on their back to bowling programmes while Reece Topley is out for up to six weeks due to a side strain.
There is no place in the squad for Gus Atkinson, Conor McKerr, Mark Stoneman or Amir Virdi
FULL SQUAD:
Gareth Batty (c)
Hashim Amla
Jordan Clark
Rikki Clarke
Sam Curran
Tom Curran
Matt Dunn
Laurie Evans
Ben Geddes
Will Jacks
Daniel Moriarty
Jamie Overton
Ryan Patel
Jason Roy
Jamie Smith
Don't understand the Dernbach situation he was fine on Monday to bowl four overs and end up as our best bowler
Dunn, Geddes, Patel and maybe Clarke to carry the drinks.
Fingers crossed Amla doesn't slow down the run rate
Over to you chaps

Would be nice but he is probably behind Amla and Burns in the pecking orderguildfordbat wrote:jimbobgooner wrote:Was there Guildford that catch was right in front of me I was willing for him to drop itguildfordbat wrote:Did you get along last night, JimBob?
Only 5 overs but still some good entertainment. The Mills over consisted of a dropped catch, 3 sixes and 2 fours all struck by Jacks together with a couple of wides.
However, even topping that, was the catch and celebration of 16 year old Archie Lenham (great name) to dismiss Roy. Superb take running backwards at speed. I don't think it's on the Surrey site but it is on the Sussex site and rightly bigged up there. I can't attach from here but well worth a look.
Such a shame these last two games have been ruined, and now sadly we lose the England trio
Yeah, but 8 points out of 10 is much better than where we usually are. Also, maybe a chance to see your boy Geddes.
