I like Skittles and also Giant Skittles. Not to keen on the Crazy Sours pack, but also like the hard-to-find Desserts pack.

I didn't want to reply to Galted's post as I assumed he's posted here in error and that it was intended for his under 14's WhatsApp group.

Had no idea such a thing as Giant Skittles existed. I won't sleep tonight.

Took me a few more hours than it should've to figure out what you meant. Changing the subject while not changing it, Fruit Pastilles were my go to sugar-coated fruit-flavoured sweet before I discovered Skittles, but they barely get a look-in now.

Maybe the shooter has already turned the gun on himself in his pre-prepared hideaway, or is just waiting it out there watching the news unfold with his pet bear cub sitting on his lap?
I'd check all the gas bowsers in a 50-mile radius, by the way. One of them could be a fake one (hollowed out) with enough food supplies and fizzy drinks to last several days.

I'm going to ascribe the aggressive native of your post to the possibility that you've been traumatised by a Mountie and so won't respond in kind, even though I've got conjunctivitis in both eyes as well as a sore back.
I can genuinely say that I'm glad you haven't been killed by a grizzly bear or a translady and hope that you're back home safe and sound in time to greet the England cricket team arriving back at Heathrow.
PS Duty's out of control, terrorising the rugby and cricket boards.

You're a better human being than I am, Galted.
I haven't been killed which is a miracle as we've been up in Quebec at a lake house. The surrounding hills and forests are f*cking crawling with black bear, coyotes and quite possibly Bigfoot. I've been for quite a few hikes with my father in law. He thinks it is because we are bonding, the truth is, he has a shotgun.
Although I'd rather meet Bigfoot or an angry bear than spend too much time in Quebec. They have all the worst qualities of the French, whilst pretending they are better because they don't live in France.
Duty is a f*cking wildcard these days. He can't be constrained by normal rules.

Don't really buy into the paganist Halloween nonsense but I nearly drove off the road today. Not only cobwebs covering a front fence near here but a massive black spider. A funnel web. It looked so real... but the size did give it away.
By the way, LiW.... what parasites? Hopefully not bed bugs?
A few thousand ants here of late. Hot weather sees them go on the march. Only God knows where.

Yeah - don't linger in the outlying areas is a key piece of advice. The Barrowlands is still my favourite gig venue, but the area around it is 'colourful'.

We were just by King Tut's Wa Wa Hut, gig was at the Ovo.
Had a great time and everyone was nice and chill, but there are a lot of derelict buildings, more so than when I last spent any significant time there around 20+ years ago.

Only had the one trip to Glasgow (3 days or so for a exhibition) Liked it. A bit ugly at street level but the architecture is lovely and the street art was always a pleasant surprise. The closest I got to the suburbs was doing a series of wind studies/ (Analysis of new developments to make sure they don't cause gusts that will knock people off their feet in windy weather)

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
Lived in Glasgow for two years but my favourite 'Glasgow is f*cking mental' moment came when I had to go through for work having not been in the City for a couple of years.
Got off the train at Queen Street at 8:45am on a Tuesday morning and had walked about 50 yards turning onto Buchanan Street and the first person I saw was a hammered fat guy who could been any age between 30 and 65 (its hard to tell in Glasgow) wearing a Scotland Italia '90 era shell-suit (this was in 2007 or 2008 so that shell-suit had 'seen it all') topped off with a bright pink stetson and singing 'I Will Survive' at the top of this voice while trying not to fall over.

G'day rIcK.
Haven't been there either. There's a nice little Aberdeen here in NSW but I usually just drive through it. Lovely fat cows on both sides of the road.
Planning a trip to the UK next year. Is it better to go late spring / early summer or late summer / early autumn? Asking for a family member who wants to go to Ireland as well. Also, is that ferry journey from Liverpool to Dublin safe... or is it better and safer from Holyhead?

I would tend to go from Holyhead (and do quite a bit) the train journey to Holyhead is pleasant as well, or as pleasant as British trains can be.
Worth popping over to the Isle of Man from Liverpool on the catamaran though if you have time, Douglas is a nice wee place, and the trip is short.

Cheers Rick. Yeah, might go one way and come back t'other. I've always been fascinated by that Isle of Man flag with the 3 legs. Whoever designed it must have been seeing double... or triple after a few pints. Cavendish is from there too, isn't he? So maybe it was more foresight with the flag then.

The Great Laxey Wheel is pretty cool though slightly underwhelming.
If you like old school seaside vibes then Douglas is a nice place to spend a couple of hours.
