Wigan where by far the best team last year, after solid recruitment can anyone get near them. Will Hull KR & Leigh continue on from last year's decent seasons, will the sleeping giants (yes Hull, Leeds and Warrington this is you) wake up. And who will be the surprise package.

Championship.
This is in my opinion the best league. Genuine competition at the top and for the play off places. Even the bottom could be as tight as last year.

League one.
Unfortunately not as competitive in my opinion, after the drama of the off season, hard to see beyond Oldham doing what Dewsbury did last year and walking away with it. Competing for the play off places could be interesting.

NRL.
Can anyone stop Penrith (who've won 4 grand finals in a row).

And what should be a fascinating and great game of rugby league in the World club game as Wigan face Penrith.

The surprise result is Swinton getting a great result at Featherstone to win 42-40. Whitehaven get a 2nd draw of the season away, this time at Doncaster 25 all. Bradford win again, at home to Barrow 36-24. Widnes get a good away win at York 22-18. Meanwhile Sheffield lose again this time at Batley 31-18.

NorthWales put in a great performance v Oldham, only losing by 1 point 24-25. Keighley win again, this time at Midlands 25-18. Hunslet also continue there recent run, winning at Workington 24-22. And Cornwall win again, at home this time against Newcastle 30-6.

Widnes put up a great fight before losing 20-18 to Wakefield at home. Bradford get a good away win at Whitehaven 36-18. Batley also get a solid away win at Swinton 20-16. Sheffield at home v Featherstone 18-16, and York hammer Dewsbury away 40-0.

On my way home after being in York to watch the NCL premier game between Heworth v Weat Hull (new ground for me). Weat Hull were very good, scored some great tries, defensively good, and were just far to good for Heworth. Making yards all the way through and won 44-4.

Both sides defence were good. Though due to the rain in the last 24 hours meant it was mainly down the middle. But food defence by both. Though a lack ideas in the 20's helped. Would say both were even. Referee was interesting.
