Union Cane's Prediction League - 12th and Final Round
First topic message reminder :

Week Eleven Results

Week Eleven Review
Tomasz Adamek is a two-weight world champion, and therefore clearly no mug, but he was no match for Vitali Klitschko. Simply too small to compete, Adamek did well to last as long as he did but was never going to beat the bigger man.
Paul McCloskey should change his name to McLucky, after a terrible start he somehow managed to turn things round (helped no doubt by the home crowd cheering every punch he threw, let alone landed) and get a controversial decision against Breidis Prescott.
Some very high scores this week, even without the McCall / Cooper result, which is not in yet. which is now a voided fight.
When will I learn not to use fights from these back-water third-world countries?
'Predictor of the Week' is a tricky one this week, with Mind the windows Tino., alma, licence_007 and Reborn-DeeMcK-Reborn all getting all four fights spot on and amassing 16 points each. As it's impossible to split them, this week's award goes to Michaels, Sean, who, despite all the points on offer, still only managed a paltry 3 points. Took some doing that, well done Sean.

Again, almost every winner correctly called but for some reason the likes of Magee, Banal and Alvarado choose the night I'm predicting their fights to turn into powder puff punchers

I'm the same, decided to go all out for KO's after originally doing UD's, then they all decide to box to UD's.

Speaking of gloating, do you think I should get out of bed now, or wait 30 minutes until the sun is directly on the pool? I was unfortunately woken up early as the farmer was spraying his vines.

We're always happy in gods county, have already had a stirring verse of Ilkley Moor by Tat whilst looking at my shrine to Fred Trueman this morning, an evening watching Last of the Summer Wine should mark the occasion properly.

Re: Union Cane's Prediction League - 12th and Final Round
Does Yorkshire Day involve getting a Yorkshire pudding, creating a hole in it and then vigorously thrusting oneself's manhood through it?
I understand, from 300 miles away down south, that this is common day to day practice... Is there a different ritual on this special day?

Yorkshire is ok the parts iv gone to. Iv mainly been to Sheffield which is not a bad place
Iv also been to that Chernobyl Museum. Unbelievable really to think of how much money Yorkshire county council must of spent on building up a replica town to show people what it was like after the disaster. Did the residents of Rotherham have any say in that at all by the way?

Well, the fights happened and there were no major surprises (were there?).
Me being 'Predictor of the Week' is about as big a surprise as I could have imagined.

Agreed
Anyway Rotherham was ok really. I was there for the football. I remember all the beer drinkers I was with were chuffed as you cant really get Stones Bitter in south Wales so they were on it by the bucketfull. Some Leeds United fans came down looking for trouble but the old bill soon chucked them back on the train to sunny Leeds

To be honest Steffan Rotherham is a complete dump and I say that as someone who lives there, however could not let an insult pass unchallenged on Yorkshire day could I.

The caption is dull Steffan. Deadly dull. You can do better than that. I think Union's blank post may be his way of agreeing with me. I could be wrong though.

Ok fine. Do you actually plan on doing a caption this week or you just gonna leave that blank post there on my competition by the way?
The caption is dull Steffan. Deadly dull. You can do better than that. I think Union's blank post may be his way of agreeing with me. I could be wrong though.
This is the last week im doing it anyway. Sadly the accusations of corruption and reports of it being 'dull' have had a detrimental impact on me

Quitter, show some backbone Steffan, the reaction is nothing compared to waht Union has to endure for his reverse linear threads, he ploughs on with them, he has some character it would appear.

I will leave the blank post if that is ok, I wanted to enter because I like you, but I didn't want to waste any unnecessary finger-skin on typing out a caption that, well, frankly, wasn't going to win.
You should keep the competition running though, just try to find some slightly interesting imagery.
Don't give up, remember what Ghandi said :

Re: Union Cane's Prediction League - 12th and Final Round
1. Djenny Lukusa v. Douglas Chilembe (12)
2. Koji Sato v. Fukutaro Ujiie (12)
3. Froilan Saludar v. Gabriel Pumar (12)
4. Randy Petalcorin v. Michel Rodriuez (12)
5. Kelly Pavlik v. Darryl Cunningham (10)
I shall make my debut in this picking game of the very famous 10 in the fistic arts!
1. Djenny Lukusa v. Douglas Chilembe (12) -Lukusa by Early KO, slightly nicer name, Chilembe sounds very common!
2. Koji Sato v. Fukutaro Ujiie (12) - Sato by Late KO only because it'll be late in the fight before I can pronounce the other guy's name.
3. Froilan Saludar v. Gabriel Pumar (12) - Saludar on points because his name sounds like Vicente Salvidar so has the slightly better name
4. Randy Petalcorin v. Michel Rodriuez (12) - I predict a draw here. Neither name really jumps out at me.
5. Kelly Pavlik v. Darryl Cunningham (10) - I have heard of one of these. Pavlik by Late KO. Darryl is the not very good half-brother of cruiserweight champion Steve on the basis that I said so rather than have any evidence or facts to back up my assertion.

Oh well, with a little luck I might still scrape the end of season award for Most Consecutive Weeks In The Lead:
Lukusa vs Chilembe - draw
Sato late KO
Saludar early KO
Petalcorin UD
Pavlik UD

Re: Union Cane's Prediction League - 12th and Final Round
I thought Union Cane did the caption competition anyways? How comes Steffan has it now? I thought Cane had the rights to both the Caption Comp and the Prediction League??
Did Mr Cane sell the IP on his caption competition to Steffan or did Steffan just steal it?

Re: Union Cane's Prediction League - 12th and Final Round
Well I thought on the old 606 he had it but not sure.
Anyway, I hope he takes account of my predictions and adds me to the table! I have a good feeling about my selections, all based on some very detailed analysis!
