Stade Francais being wound up? Implications
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blog/oval-talk/article/1107/
Article in link says Stade Francais will be declared bankrupt and wound up if they don't find €6.6 million by the end of the day, will be relegated from the Top 14 and will be stripped of all its assets and left only with the name. If this happens, presume there will be a mass exodus - leaving Paul Warwick and Stan Wright, as well as Szarzewski, Pape and others presumably free to find hew homes for 2011-12, with no money to pay the fat salaries that Guazzini has used to entice players to Paris.
Maybe there'll be some last ditch solution to keep Stade afloat but doesn't seem likely based on article above. Warwick would fit in very nicely at Leinster - although I think we have our full allotment of NIQ's!

Warwick and Contepomi will top the wish lists of Bath and Cardiff Blues.
Munster need a NIQ 12 - Felipe Contepomi. Imagine him and ROG in same team

Would be all sweetness and light, Stag. Two sweet natured individuals like Phil and ROG will undoubtedly put all past differences behind them and Phil would bring a much needed cool temperament to the Munster back line. Come on, imagine Phil in red down in Thomond the next time we come visiting!!!!!

It would be hilarious. Its all pantomine to those two. Remember when Toulon came to Thomond Park and Dr Phil got carded. The pair of them giggling about it on the pitch.

Would Munster consider going after Bastareud? Imagine if he could be thought the selfless Munster way.

Basteraud is basically just a younger Tuitupou. Don't want him.
Re: Stade Francais being wound up? Implications
Does anyone know what would be the implications for the Amlin? Presumably whichever team is promoted to the T14 as a result of SF dropping down would replace them? But would they redo the draw aswell?

Whilst the vultures circle, notably nobody seems to have addressed the central issue:
SF is going jubblies-up, Why?
And which side next? Toulon?

For info - a Google translation (at least they call it that!) of L'equipe artilce today on Stade
Max Guazzini know early Monday afternoon whether or not the club is saved from relegation by the Board of DNACG. The organization, meeting in Marcoussis, a good chance to rule for the descent (or Federal Pro D2 1) of the French stage. However, this decision would not sign the Paris end of the episode, as the club will have ten days to file an appeal. Time to find the ultimate solutions to save the financial situation. The French stage, at the edge of bankruptcy, has a deficit of 6 million euros and will have to give guarantees on its budget next season. A financial headache for which Max Guazzini and Bernard Laporte would track the last minute. After the failure of the agreement with Facem, former sports minister would have established new contacts with a French investor. The round commitment for three months may also reserve some surprises. This would require that the club has gathered 13 million and provide evidence bank.

Stade Français is saved - new investor found by Guazzini and former backrow Richard Pool-Jones (JP Savare ; owner of Oberthure technologies) has been approved by DNACG.

Richard Pool Jones eh.
Everytime I hear his name I think of Austin Healey's book and what the line he wrote on him.

What will be most interesting is to observe whether all their (many) new signings arrive.

Alyn,
A new guy has bought the club. Guazzini has been removed as president and has taken on some honourary role.

I wouldn't go that far stag. Tuitupou is small centre who tries to play like a big crash ball merchant. Basteraud is a BIG crash ball merchant. There are plenty of question marks about his attitude and mindset. But a Basteraud & Earls thunder and lightning combo in the centres would be a scary thought. Could develop into the fabled Roberts/BOD combo during a previous Lions. I know he wouldn't be a guaranteed success but Munster has quite a decent record in getting talented players with the attitude question mark hanging over them and turning them into stars.
Granted, now that Stade have found some euro down the back of the coach and can stay in Top14 it is just hypothetical
