Weekend predictions
lets have your weekend predictions -
Here's mine,
Limerick -v- Wexford - Limerick by 3 - With Donal O'Grady in charge, I'm backing Limerick to reach the semis
Galway -v- Clare - Clare by 2 - We have been waiting for some time for Galway to come good, time to accept that they are as good as they can be. Clare have some great young players and did well against Tipp, faded in the 2nd half, but will have learned a lot. I want Clare right back at the top, games between Tipp and Clare used to be great craic and I'd love it if Clare could get back to where they used to be.
Kerry -v- Cork -Oh the summer is getting hot. I'm stumped here. I really don't know what to think about this. This game has got to be a neutrals favourite. Is this going to be a football game or is civil war a real possibility? I'll come back to this at the end.
Dublin -v- Kilkenny - Another beauty for a neutral. Dublin are certainly good enough. Hopefully the occasison doesn't get to them, but I have to go for Kilkenny, not by much though, 3/4 points. I really hope I'm wrong here.
Antrim -v- Armagh - Hopefully Armagh won't get a drubbing - Antrim to win easily.
OK, here goes, Kerry by 4/5.

Kilkenny will beat Dublin comfortably. I think Dublin may be a bit overhyped.

Wow, you expect a lot of Limerick. Considering where they have come from, the semis is a big ask. But no better man than Donal O'Grady.
Antrim will win handy
Cork will win handy
Kilkenny will win handy

Cork will win handy
Kilkenny will win handy

Re: Weekend predictions
Im going to my first Limerick hurling game since the 2007 AI Final tommorow night (taking my 5 year old girl to her first match who wouldn't commit to supporting Limerick until she heard they wore green "favourite colour"!).
Looking forward to seeing how they are going.............
Still have nightmares about the 96 and 01 defeats to Wexford when a disallowed goal (wrongly) in each game killed us.....................
In January, you'd be saying what's progress for Limerick and the answer would be Promotion and being competitive in Ch'ship........................
I think a semi is a big ask. IF we beat Wexford, it's Cork or Anthrum and then it's a losing Provincial Finalist......................

Re: Weekend predictions
GW's Predictions-
Kerry V Cork- The big wan for this week, both teams looked impressive recently but this will be the real test, dork have the edge imo with kerry missing the galvinator too. The rebels should dominate the midfield area and a strong backline with the likes of canty should really frustrate Kerry's forwards. Kerry also conceded a few goals as of late while the rebels have been on a roll up front.
Cork by 7
Stick Fighting-
Limerick V Wexford- Limerick by 4, seemed handy enough in there last game against Waterford
Galway V Clare- Galway have struggled as of late and will look to improve but after a decent show at times against tipp I wouldn't put it past Clare.
Clare by 2
Dubland V KK- Obviously the big wan in wee balls. We're all experienced in Dub bandwagons but after already beating KK this year and looking fairly strong I wouldn't predict it to crash yet. A hard one to call but something tells me that the Dubs can snatch this Leinster,
Dubs by.....3 (just)
...........oh aye thats right, Ulster- Interim to win by 18.

No doubt.
It is a long way to bring a side in a short space of time though

Lots of confidence in Cork, though I still have my doubts about them. Perhaps it's ingrained.

Re: Weekend predictions
Reigning national league, all ireland and world champions. we should be confident. Allied to the fact that they are without a few, and they just don't have a few more, we should be confident.
I bet we hear nothing at all about the players we are missing but a whole load about who they have missing....typical RTE bias against the northern counties (tm patrick91)

Re: Weekend predictions
Antrim by 12 (I hope Armagh but Antrim have the know how)
Cork by 8 (We will do nothing this year. Too many gaps in the team)
Kilkenny by 5 (The cats will not be caught again)
Galway by 5 (Clare although looked good at times against Tipp seemed a bit suspect at the back)
Limerick by 4 (Home advantage should have a big bearing for the treaty men here)

I forgot. I am gonna pick Clare. I'm never quite sure when Galway are going to pull a performance out of the bag, but they were just horrible the last day.
