Weekend predictions
Board is very quiet this morning. Where is everyone?
Anyway, here are my predictions for this weekend:- Got 4 out of 5 winners last week but was way-out on the scores.
All-Ireland SFC Qualifiers, Round 2.
Limerick -v- Offaly - Offaly by 3.
Down -v- Leitrim - Down by 5.
Antrim -v- Carlow - Carlow by 2.
London -v- Waterford - haven't a clue but will go fore Waterford by 4.
Laois -v- Kildare - Laois by 3.
Longford -v- Tyrone - Tyrone by 6/7
Armagh -v- Wicklow - Armagh by 4/5.
Meath -v- Galway - Go for Galway by 3.
All-Ireland SHC Hurling Qualiferd Phase 3 - Neither of these matches are on TV
Cork -v- Galway - I'm going to go for Cork by 4.
Antrim -v- Limerick - Limerick by 7/8.
Leinster SFC final
Dublin -v- Wexford - Dublin by 7/8 - would love Wexford to win.
Munster SHC Final
Waterford -v- Tipp - Tipp by 6 - if Tipp are to lose this year, this is the game.

Re: Weekend predictions
Not having any of the hurling qualifiers on TV is insanity. Hurling is probably seeing a decline as most counties don't take it seriously and the opportunity to see a close, intriguing game in Cork V Galway is not taken. That is absolute insanity. Galway to win by 3/4 seeing as Cadogan is at full back.
Are there any games on the box for Saturday evening?

Re: Weekend predictions
I don't see how not having the hurling on TV on Sat night is going to up the attendances. I mean, I was never going to go anyway - going to the Munster final.
If low attendances is the issue here, why didn't they have both games in Thurles thereby attracting some neutrals?

Re: Weekend predictions
I'm not talking about attendences but interest in general. Most games in hurling now are fairly one sided and predictable, this game has the potential to be a great one and it's not shown on TV? It's just ridiculous.

Re: Weekend predictions
thems my picks too.
end of the road for micko unless they can pull a bit of a shock.....not entirely beyond the realms of possibility. One last kick for mick.
Galway, if they perform anything like last saturday have the beating of us. If we show like we can, then maybe we can do something.

there is a competition in thurles this weekend. teams from all over playing, including the U.S marine team.
logistical problems....yes but what a way to show off the games.

Re: Weekend predictions
Thomond, the All-Ireland hurling final attracted the 2nd largest tv audience in 2010 after the Late Late toy show (we're a big bunch of kids really). Way more than the soccer world cup. Gaelic football came in third. Interest in hurling is there, but not in the playing of it.

Re: Weekend predictions
Why does everyone fancy London over Waterford? I know London have had an influx of immigrants but if they were that good, would they not be playing for their counties?

Re: Weekend predictions
Nobody being to controversial. To be fair other than the Laois/Kildare game on paper there doesnt appear to be major reason for debate about the potentil outcome.
Other than bluemoda we have all gone for a Meath win, are we being bilnded by four goals against a very suspect Louth backline.
What pairings would you like to see in round 3 should the results goes as largely predicted here.

No real point in that, how embarrasing to be beat by London on a roll

Re: Weekend predictions
Well Blue,
You are one of the lucky ones that has not had to leave home to find employment.
Maybe if the shoe were on the other foot you might have an insight.
There are 2 outstanding footballers from Kerry playing with London and both were on the county panel last year.
There are Laois,Kildare,Waterford,Cork,Cavan and Monaghan lads playing that have played county as well.
That's why most people fancy London over Waterford.
They have a great squad this year and with a bit of luck will make it to round 4.
Go wan London.

Do Australia have a Gaa team? A Sydney or Perth team could do great considering the numbers heading out there. Get oul Tadhg to fill in for them from time to time.

Be careful what you say, I only returned from abroad a few years ago, having left to find work, so the shoe has been on the other foot. Does that give me an insight?
