What would you change in the England ODI side?
So, after an impressive series win over Sri Lanka there is obviously a fairly long gap before the India series. What, if anything, would you change for that series?
Personally I would keep much of it the same, barring injuries. Anderson, Bresnan, Swann and Dernbach have done enough to stay in the side and I'm happy with Broad/Patel as a 5th bowler depending on conditions. Pietersen is living on very thin ice but I am inclined to give him one final chance to impress in the next series, regardless of how he goes in the Tests. The only change I would make is to give young James Taylor a go at number 6 in place of Ian Bell. The reason for this is that I see Bell and Trott as our two options for number 3 and both are no good at 6. Trott is the 'owner' of the number 3 position at the moment and so Bell will have to wait his turn, imo.
So that leaves:
Cook
Kieswetter
Trott
Pietersen
Morgan
Taylor
Patel/Broad
Bresnan
Swann
Anderson
Dernbach

Morgan shouldn't be top 4 for me, he is one of if not the best finisher in ODI's atm

Batting at 4 would give him more time to play himself in and then play his shots. Some big scores from him could be on the way if he batted at 4.
Re: What would you change in the England ODI side?
morgan should be 5 or 6 to play the finisher role

Gregers - your team looks very light in the batting department given that Patel and Wright have hardly impressed me when batting for us in the past.

Replace Bell with someone else at 6. Also look at possible replacements for KP. Finally, give Patel and good run in the team.

Something like:
01 Cook
02 Kieswetter
03 Trott
04 Taylor
05 Morgan
06 Stokes
07 Patel
08 Bresnan
09 Swann
10 Broad
11 Anderson
6 bowling options yet 1-7 are all batsmen by trade.
If either of Pietersen and Bell get dropped, they can have no complaints. Bell isn't a 6, but I still expected better from him.
Dernbach did alright. Maybe have Anderson is good conditions and Dernbach in flatter conditions?
Taylor and Stokes look fine prospects whilst Patel offers a good second spin option.
