Aussies look like they are going to score every time they get the ball. To be fair to thomson he is injured which probably explains his performace

The last AB's game before the world cup is the first time they've really looked vunerable. Still 40 mins to go but Oz have been brilliant.
Not one Oz player is playing badly, not one NZ player is playing at there normal level besides perhaps Conrad

This side has a better balance with AAC on the wing. When you have Cooper, Genia, Beale etc you don't necessarily creation in the centres Everyone of them is disposable if they aren't playing well.

Guildford like quite a few ab's having a mare. Weepus service has been all over the place. Nz to have a much better second half I reckon

Vickerman giving Oz and edge they don't get with the Horwill Sharpe combo.

Oz deserved winners. The only team who won away from home won the 3N.

Sounds like a thriller and bit of a game of two halfs. Some serious injury worries for AB's in Read, McCaw, Thompson.

NZ only really turned up for 30 mins and even then they weren't great were just clinical. Carter had a nightmare 1st half.

Not watched the game but read Cooper was equally bad 2nd? Missed tackles and disappeared for most of 40?!?! About right or way off?

Pooly
Whoever wrote that didn't watch the game properly. He missed two tricky kicks at goal but that was all he did wrong. If Cooper had of played like Carter in the first half then everybody would mention it for a long time to come.
Cooper could well be cited though, naughty knee on Mccaw (if it was deliberate)

It was a NZ site so was a bit dubious. Cooper is a bit of a prat to be fair, seems to dislike McCaw, I imagine McCaw will lay him out one day. What was England game score, performance like?

Simpson didn't. Watching game now. Tuilagi is a good try and apparently him and Tindall worked well in midfield.
Fourie and Cueto went off injured but don't think they are serious. Neither is easter's by the sound of it.
England scrum good, haskell good on front foot after 20 mins

Lawes foden and ashton struggled with 4, 5 and 6 respectively

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
Surprised you werent all watching the England game yesterday.
Pack was very good - not sure how Lawes got a score of 4 in the Telegraph, was great in the lineout, he got a 7 in the Times and few other papers gave him that score too.
Problem with our whole back three is that we dont involve them enough, we dont seem to have a backmove where we bring Foden in to the game - only chance he gets is if its kicked to him and its run back. Trouble was the conditions were awful and back three were only really able to defend, which they all did very well - Armitage the pick.
Tindall and Tuilagi worked superbly - very cleverly done. For those who didnt watch it, Tindall lined up at 12 in attack and then moved to 13 in defence, and marshalled Tuilagi brilliantly. Was best game I've seen Tindall play in 3-4 years! Tuilagi was a one man battering ram.
Haskell has to start at no8 ahead of Easter now, I really hope that he does.
After these games I can see the England team being:
1. Sheridan
2. Hartley/Thompson - depending on weather
3. Cole / Stevens - Cole isnt offering anything in the loose.
4. Palmer
5. Lawes
6. Croft
7. Moody
8. Haskell
9. Youngs
10. Wilkinson
11. Cueto
12. Tindall
13. Tuilagi
14. Ashton
15. Foden
Bench should be Hartley, Stevens, Shaw, Wood/Easter, Wigglesworth, Flood, Armitage.
Was looking back at 2007 WC squad and this one is so, so much better in every area

Just watched the game. Cole offered very little and Stevens must be close. Trimble and ferris had good games and poc Ireland's man of the match.
Tuilagi and tindall worked well. On attack tindall played 12 but he was 13 on defence. Wilkinsons kicking is so short these days. He has lost all the distance but would still be my ten. Haskell mom for me. Sheridan had a big game and wiggles went well

Anyone see Dan Ward-Smith is calling it a day having failed to recover from the back injury to picked up towards the end of last season?

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
Thats a shame but it bring on a point I have been thinking about.
When players retire now there is no compensation available for them, so I feel that if a player does a Thompson and returns from retirement then the team who he was with before he retires in this game should have him back for free should he return.
so if DWS returns next season he is Arry's automatically.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
It's a an interesting idea Steve. I'll have a think about it over the week.
England have left Shawsy at home it appears due to illness.
Now for some rules regarding team sheets as promised lol
1. Teamsheets to be in by close of play (midnight) Thursday
2. Late teamsheets will not be accepted and will result in a default victory (strictly held to)
3. Predictions will be open early Friday morning and run till midday Saturday
4. Once a side is named there is no changing it. It should be each managers responsibility to name a fully eligible side that meets EQ requirements.

LDCPete wrote:Personally the simplest way fo doing it as far as I can see, and the way I would do it if I was still running the game would be this.
1. All players named in squads now are unavailable in this squad until their country is knocked out of the tournament.
2. If a player currently in a squad is injured and returns home they remain unable to play in this game until their country is knocked out.
3. Any player called up as an injury replacement to the World Cup becomes unavailable in tis game until his country is knocked out.
Keeps things simple. There is no confusion about who is available and who is not and everyone knows where they stand.
Thought we had all kind of agreed on this.

CLARIFICATION ON WORLD CUP PLAYERS
1. Injured Players
1A. All players named in squads now are unavailable in this squad until their country is knocked out of the tournament.
1B. If a player currently in a squad is injured and returns home they remain unable to play in this game until their country is knocked out.
1C. Any player called up as an injury replacement to the World Cup becomes unavailable in tis game until his country is knocked out.
2. Players not selected in Matchday 23.
2A. Players who are at the RWC who aren't selected in the match day squad are not available for domestic selection as they are still part of there country's world cup squad.
Hope this clears things up , i'll knock up a RWC rules page to cover everything.
Had a complete mind blank pete and forgot those where the rules we agreed on lol my bad! 50 - 0 wins to everyone to make up for it!
