The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Humanism? Pah!
How about a favourite of the Tea Party. What are we going to do to stop the US Government from experimenting on genetically enhanced monkeys with human brains. It's happening now man! And it's immoral!

Munsty,ESPN are at fault for it. They started with SportsCenter. It is great to watch in the morning before a match or after it but it gets very boring otherwise.

Munsty I think you could make that comment about all 24 hour news stations to a certain extent. But the ones dedicated to sport are especially banal.

To an extent, well the way they do it anyway but there is certainly enough news to justify them.

I don't know whether it's just because of the news that I'm noticing it more, but quite a few sounds of sirens going past my flat. Hope it's just that I'd gotten so used to them before that I just stopped noticing!

It might just be normal Dreamer. When I first moved to Chester, I couldn't believe how often I could hear the sirens and that's one of the safest places around.

Seriously Pete, people who weren't there this year just wouldn't be able to enjoy it, they are not in the loop and would just be lost so I don't think they should come

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
My flatmate has counted 7 in the last hour and a half, but I honestly couldn't say if that was more than usual, I've gotten so used to the sound of them. Nothing on BBC Wales anyway so fingers crossed nothing is wrong, tis just a weird feeling seeing this all spreading from city to city and wondering if yours will be next. I just really hope Cardiff doesn't join in.
Here's a random nature article as there's not been one in the pub for a while: http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/14388541
Scientists don't half research some random things.

I thought Chester was pretty rough to be honest. Went for few nights out there when I was younger and it was carnage on a saturday night. Maybe it's changed now but I recall Chester not being a particularly safe place after 5pm.

Hi all. Noos from NW London.
All local businesses have been advised to close by the police, and most have. My local turfed eveyone out at 6:00.
Just slightly to the east, Colindale, Burnt Oak and Edgware were all hit. The local buses are awash with statements like "Where are we gonna hit tonight" according to friends I spoke to earlier.
It's not good, but I feel the worst has been done.

After West Brom's caprture of Shane Long, aswell as their striker Simmon Cox,the prospect of having Long Cox upfront could be mindblowing for West Brom fans.

For those of you who might care the last Richard Parks documentary is on at 22:35 tonight. BBC1 Wales I think (1 or 2 anyhow). I'll not be able to watch it till Friday
Just been to the gym. First time in ten days. Feel awesome.

Harrow - look after yourself
Dreamer - I think, perhaps you're being a little over sensitive to the sirens. They're very common in the city centre, but as you say you probably don't take much notice normally . I hear them all day at work - probably because there's the main fire, police and ambulance stations based there. I haven't heard any sirens at home this evening. I hear them about three or four times a day usually, but that's to be expected I think.

Yea I'm about. Just have to pack a few stuff for Malaga and then grab a shower.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Thanks for the good wishes folks .
All quiet where I am so far. I just think the police have feared the worst here but nothing happening so far. It's not dark yet though. I do feel the worst of it is done in London at least; all those people out clearing up sent a powerful message to the bad guys.

I don't know how bad it is or if it's true, but apparently it's kicking off in Spytty Park, Newport now.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
No more sirens happy to report, and all the rumours flying round about something kicking off on city road have all turned out to be false thank Flip.
Almost finished packing for my 3 days of camping out in a field now, so bloomin excited to get out of the city, can't wait.
Stag - when abouts are you off to Malaga? I know you've said but I've forgotten.
Rev - nice one on the gym! I seriously need to go back to one as well, not been for yonks.

This is getting a bit out of control with all of the rumours.....we heard the city road one too and we live about a 30 second walk from there, no noise whatsoever and the fact that I just walked down it helps......unless i'm perceived as a rioter!!

Have a grand time staggy and dreamer
Just popped into the pub nearest to me and am delighted to see Vale Brewery's Black Beauty on; a very nice porter. Slurp!
I see there was some good news for Wales, with a gaggle of players available for Saturday's game. Notably Hook, but given Stoddart's unfortunate injury, cover at full back for you with Byrne being declared fit.
Sorry if that news was already commented on, but I didn't read back too much.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
it really is good news Hound, we need as much cover as possible now at full back with Stodds out, I reckon if he'd have lasted that game against England it would have been his shirt to lose, he was playing so well.
I'm just busy youtubing a lot of the bands that I'm going to be seeing over the next few days, can't believe I hadn't noticed Hayseed Dixie were going to be playing there! Well looking forward to that.
And nice one on the Hound
