Union Cane's Prediction Cup - The Final Result - Winner : alma
I'm toying with the idea of running a knockout cup competition alongside the new Premiership / Championship Prediction Leagues, this is just a test event to iron out any potential problems with the stadia and transport network et cetera.
The idea is to use Wednesday Night Fights for the cup competition, this will mean a limited choice and a lot of unheard of fighters, so it might fall flat on its face, but if it doesn't work I'll know not to bother with it when the next season kicks off.
So, I need 16 volunteers for the test event, once we have the 16 I will do the draw and then put the fights up for you to predict.

The Final
alma | versus | sodhat |
We are going on a five day trip around the world for The Final, visiting all four corners of the globe.
The fights are as follows :
A - Sunday 4th September - Tanzania
1. Bakari Mohamed v. Ramadhani Shauri (8) - Ramadhani Shauri W PTS
3. Issa Omari v. Kade Hamis (4) - Draw
5. Mwaite Juma v. Franky Purry (4) - Mwaite Juma W PTS
Injury and illness decimated the line up (I should think), and only 3 fights survived, one of which was drawn. Alma scores an impressive 8 points, having predicted both remaining fights would end in decisions, whilst sodhat scores a solitary 1 point for predicting that Shauri would beat Mohamed. That's quite a lead after the first card, has alma got this in the bag already?
alma | 8 |
sodhat | 1 |
B - Monday 5th September - Dominican Republic
8. Jean Carlos Prada v. David Toribio (9) - Jean Carlos Prada W TD6 (58-56 / 58-56 / 56-58) SD

Both finalists getting both fights spot on, 8 points each.
alma | 17 |
sodhat | 11 |
D - Wednesday 7th September - Japan
11. Akihiro Kondo v. Masayoshi Kotake (8) - Draw
Nobody picked the draw, scores remain the same going into the big finale...
alma | 17 |
sodhat | 11 |
E - Thursday 8th September - Panama
12. Chanttall Martinez (F) v. Marylin Hernandez (F) (10 x 2) - Chanttall Martinez W UD

15. Manuel Vides v. Humberto Pena (8) - Manuel Vides W UD
16. Rolando Giono v. Javier Coronado (8) - Rolando Giono W SD
18. Addir Sanchez v. Daniel Mulgrave (6) - Addir Sanchez W UD

Sorry but I'm not in because I'm concentrating on winning the league rather than the cup competition. I have a lot of catching up to do. The best I could do is send in my second string predictions so better not enter. May need them for the league.

How many replays can there be? I realise a tie is pretty unlikely, never mind two, but somebody might want to play silly boggers and cut n paste their opponent's predictions. I realise it's an unlikely situation but maybe you could put in the rules something like if two people who are drawn against each other choose exactly the same results for all the fights, whoever got theirs in first gets the nod.
Just a suggestion to cover your back mate, ready for when this goes global.

Good point, I'd thought about that and I reckon that in the event of a replay predictions must be pm'd to me and I will have to receive both sets before putting them up on the thread.
