Union Cane's Prediction League - Season 2 - Final Results
First topic message reminder :
Week Five Results
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week Five Review
The Fights
Only three fights this week, Karl Place's opponent dropped out late on, adding to Danny Williams' withdrawal earlier in the week. In the fights that did happen, Jason Booth learned the lesson that you can't go on for ever, the younger Scott Quigg really did a job on him and his career looks to be over, certainly at super bantamweight. It comes to us all eventually. In the other fights, Donaire earned a shut-out 3 x 120-108 unanimous decision, confirming his lofty P4P ranking, and Marco Huck KO'ed his opponent in 6.
The Premiership
A fantastic week for compelling and rich, who managed to get all three fights spot on, earning himself 12 points, a big jump up the table to finish in 4th place, and of course a Predictor of the Week award.
It was the same old story for Knowsit17, the Prediction League's perennial choker once again failing to hold on to a lead when it matters, a measly 4 points drops him to a 3rd place finish. Second place went to sodhat, a case of ever the bridesmaid never the bride for our Prediction Cup runner-up.
Top of the tree though is Eyetoldyouso, our new champion claiming his title with an impressive 10 point haul. I am sure you will all join me in congratulating our new champ.
It's not all happiness and joy though, as alma, Michaels, ian_jamsie, JJJohnson and, believe it or not, Union Cane have all been relegated from the Premiership.
The Championship
School Project becomes the first Championship Champion, a nine point haul this week propelling him to the top. Dass, Jdandfries and 88Chris05 will all join him in next season's Premiership, however there is drama surrounding the fifth promotion place, with 6oldenbhoy and ermietrude tied on 29 points. They can't be separated by the Highest Weekly Score criteria, both having high-scores of 9 points, so a play-off will be required. Details below...
*Update*
The Play-Offs couldn't separate 6oldenbhoy and ermietrude, so given the exceptional circumstances, I have decided that Season 3's Premiership will have 21 places, they are both promoted.

Scoring and Rules
- I will list fights 1 - 5, this list will be definitive, when predicting please list fights in the same order.
- Predict the winner - 1 point
- - Predict the method (KO*/Pts) - 1 point
- - - Predict 'Early' or 'Late' (for KO) / 'Unanimous' or 'Majority/Split' (for Pts) - 1 point
- Get all three above correct - 1 bonus point
- Correctly predicting a draw (be it majority or even technical) will score you 10 points
- Any entries that are subsequently amended will be void.
- If a fight is cancelled, postponed, or if a fighter drops out and is replaced, that fight is then void.
- Each season will be five weeks long.
- There will be promotion and relegation between the two divisions, with the top five in the Championship replacing the bottom five in the Premiership at the end of each season.
- If at the end of the season players are level on points, the player with the highest individual weekly score will take the higher placing.
- Nobody is automatically entered into the Championship, anyone can enter, simply post your predictions to take part, using the format detailed below. You can enter at any point in the season, after all, 5 draws is 50 points which could win promotion in one week.
- If the official result of a fight is changed within one week of the fight having taken place, the new result will be applied. After one week, the result as given will stand.
- Union Cane's decision is final.

I have opted against them (have to play it tactical earl on) but I think Marquez and Hernandez will both win this weekend. Hernandez's record suggests he's a real banger.

The only female hornets that can reproduce are queens, which dominate the hives. Most of the hornets are asexual female workers. They perform various essential community duties, such as building the hive, gathering food, feeding the young, and protecting the colony.

Far from it my friend. Too much work and not enough play but the place just gets better and better. I have just returned and was positively bursting with hornet facts. I know you have all missed them?
I see all is better with the world of 606. Rowley and Windy have returned which has given me a warm glow.
Congratulations to PBF for winning the Prediction League. A classic example of care in the community working.
I missed you all.
Even Hobo.

I thought he was only going for a week. Perhaps he's been quiet for the last 3 days because he's been studying up on asexual hornets?

Welcome back mate, I think that the 'Trash Talk' section has been crying out for a Hornet related article. It is a new place where you can say quite rude things and post pictures of pretty ladies.

You can post pictures of hot females here as well, providing their boxing related. For instance:
Christine Hammer: Seen sporting her #1 t-shirt. She's my #1 boxing bird i'd like to hammer. Her skills i'm sure are amazing.

I had to make an unplanned trip to Toronto for a few days as well, hence my delay. But don't worry, the level of debate and boxing knowledge on here will soon return to previous stratospheric levels once I get in my stride.
No hornets were seen in either America or Canada.
Thank you Union. I have seen the new section and may well post a story on there. I know a great one about a hornet and a grasshopper. I must tell you about it one day......

Am the only one to go for Matthews so far? He takes Rees out late IMO, he has underrated power at Lighweight plus with superier height and reach advantage, can see Rees taking far too many shots and being stopped.
