Arg number 9 is taking the urine witht eh amount of time he is taking at each ruck. Arg should boot long and ask Scotland to come after them. I think Barnes will get annoyed and penalise Argentina soon enough

How lucky is that from Scotland?
have to say Arg have been the better side. The missed kicks hurt them badly.

Just noticing the pitch seems remarkably undamaged given the conditions. Do they have some special mud in NZ?

Parks misses the drop goal- game over? It wasn't set up that well. He wasn't very deep and from the angle- difficult chance.

Fair play to Argentina. Scored a try and thus deserved it. Sets up next week beautifully. Best of luck to Scotland in that game

that was terrible from Scotland. Parks should have taken more depth and got in front of the posts. poor TCUP costing them the match.

Game over! Argentina wil remember this for a long, long time. There were one poorly struck drop goal away from going out. Great courage from them. Vamos los Pumas
Can't help but feel gutted for Scotland- losing a game that close is so, so painful. Congratulations to both sides for a nail-biting game and commiserations to all the Scottish fans on here.

Re: Scotland v Argentina match thread
Deserved win. JUst. The missed kicks hurt Arg,
Friend of mine reckoned Scotland are much better than Eng. I didn't see any sign there that they can put with the width and pace on Eng can.
Will be very interesting next week now. Lotsof pressure on Scotland. I bet it will be very very close.

what a match, what a contest, both sides gave that everything and I think either side deserved to win. Given the conditions I think both sides played well.
Thoroughly enjoyed that as a neutral.
Commiserations to Scotland fans, that game was there for you and losing it must really hurt. But full credit to Argentina, man is that one side taht just doesn't stop fighting for a win. ever.

Or they could've just passed the damn ball and not risked missing a drop goal. Scotland had better not turn up next week.

what's the rules for teams tied on points? Points difference first, or direct results?

Re: Scotland v Argentina match thread
Well done Argentina. Fortune favours the brave and they shirked a kickable penalty and went for broke. It was a great try and smart play by Contepomi.
Scotland had there chances but just lacked composure at key times. They butchered several overlaps with needless missed passes and well that drop goal set up was a shambles.
No time to drop the heads though. The Scots need to dust themselves off and go out and win next week.

We had a penalty under the posts and Parks goes for a drop goal in the first.... should he not have run it first!!!!!!!! before taken the drop goal.

Reckon scotland can change their game and get the bonus point win over Eng?
surely a loose game like that would be just what eng want, lots of counter attack ball?

Reckon we've got it in us to beat England but no way with a bonus point. Do you think Georgia will help us out?

Re: Scotland v Argentina match thread
Just seen the replay there Argentina were a mile offside for the drop goal attempt. The Scots forwards still butchered the set up though. They needed to drive in field again and let Parks drop back further. What a mess.

I think so! But Scotland now need a bonus point and hope either they deny England a losing bonus point or Argentina don't get 5 points against Georgia. Otherwise they are relying on a shock defeat for Los Pumas in that match.
I fully agree with Sean Fitzpatrick. Its about learning how to see games out. You let off for one second and you can concede a try.

2 decisions cost Scotland that game. Robinson bringing on Parks for Jackson and Barnes missing one of the most blatant offsides ever. If I was Scottish I'd be gutted!

Re: Scotland v Argentina match thread
Updated with a couple of things I didn't spot first time around...
England 14 points
Argentina 10 points
Scotland 10 points
Points difference in that order.
scenario 1: Argentina beat Georgia with a BP.
For Scotland to go through they need to get a four point win over England (it's direct results the first tie-breaker) in which case they'd go through with Argentina.
scenario 2: Argentina win without the BP.
Scotland then need a BP win, in which case both them and England go through.
scenario 3: Argentina draw.
Scotland need to win or draw with a try BP and they'd go through with England
scenario 4: Argentina lose with losing BP.
Scotland need at least two points (draw, try BP AND losing BP or win) and would go through with England.
scenario 5: Argentina lose without BP.
Scotland then just need to come away with something (losing BP or whatever), in which case they'd go through with England.
