Boxing adverts!
Anyone notice that Frank has started to put banner adverts on here?
Has anyone else got the Boxnation advert?
What do you make to the site?

Re: Boxing adverts!
I don't get any adverts for anything, never have done, am I doing something wrong?

Re: Boxing adverts!
they should be below the navigation bar (where it says Home, Portal...etc)
If not, I dont know why - most probably something to do with your PC.
Just had a look at the site (by clicking on the advert) - its quite good - and remember, by clicking on the advert, it costs Frank Warren money

Re: Boxing adverts!
Yeah i'm got it, went on the site, it seems ok but no doubt will improve.
Also, regarding the subscription and whether it's free till end of year, it appears not.
Quote from website:
"BoxNation will soon become an encryption service. Submit your details below and we will contact you once this becomes available.
Register today and get our 'best ever' introductory offer, which includes 1 month free, this offer will not be beaten - 'guaranteed'."
boxnation.tv
So it appears we can sign up today to get the next month of fights free, which we can't complain about and then we can make our mind up whether to join up.

Eh? Havent changed anything! The adverts are predictive, so the more you talk about something, the adverts are tailored. Its also computer specific at times.
That would explain why Tino got the Thai bride adverts and no one else did.
Re: Boxing adverts!
That would explain it, nobody knows what I'm talking about so they don't know which adverts to show me.

I had a banner earlier advertising the Cleverley vs Bellew fight.
Seeing as that is on BoxNation that must be the advert you talk of.

Boxnation sounds like department store for getting your end away.
Adverts I've had recently tend to be focused on weddings for some reason, also had an advert for some stupid Tango thing with Arlene Phillips. Most regular one i get is one supposedly making it easy for me to send money to the phillipines. Now why the flip would I want to do that?

Adam, try not to take this the wrong way but it is a genuine question. There have been a number of threads critical of boxnation and given it is a controversial issue would imagine there will be others in the future.
We are not going to see an intolerence of these now they are advertising on here because there was a feeling some of the reactions to criticism of primetime was a little draconian, would hope this would not lead to anything similar.

Perhaps 'Phillipines' is something you type frequently into your search bar? I'm sure there are many sites with filipino content that interests you?

Might just be that the format for the ads doesn't work on your PC. Judging by this post you have larger issues to tackle than getting adverts from Frank Warren...

Re: Boxing adverts!
Yes Adam I've been getting the BoxNation ads all day - "Let Battle Commence" etc. Not sure if you get any pennies for re-routing people there but I've had a couple of clicks for you. Website is fine, pretty basic but nothing wrong with that (the Sky Sports website does my head in), gives you all the info you need to know which is the main thing and the fight schedule between now and the end of the year looks decent. Will be interested to see what the 'UK boxing extravaganza' on Dec 17th is.

Rowley, to answer your question, no they won't be censored. Boxnation aren't in contact or partnership with us, either.

The boxing nation stuff is generated by google adverts so its not a direct relationship with Frank.
You can say what you want about them as they arent entering into any partnership with us.
In fact the more the advert is looked at, the better for the forum, as each time you click on the link, it generates a payment that keeps the forum going - as do all of the adverts.
I hasten to add, that we are not encouraging anyone to click on the adverts on here - I am just stating a fact. Only click on them if you have a genuine interest in the content.
As for Primetime, we only get paid if you buy PPVs through our link, which is why we are more protective of the relationship. Simple self interest to be honest (and self interest to us all I might add, as the revenue generated through the links helps towards the cost to run the forum which is always going up).
Whilst I am talking about primetime, regards the refund for the last fight.
We had 4 PPV buys through our link. Although we said that we would refund after 5, we will still refund someone - its on my list of things to talk to PT about. 4 PPV buys through us guys. Another of our competitors mentioned on the night bought over 600.
We also had one of members who bought through Virgin which doesnt generate anything for us and we therefore cant refund (PT cant either as it is a Virgin customer).
So thats the state of play - we have no link up to Boxnation at this time so say what you want within house rules.
PT relationship is something I want to grow, but based on the last PPV, isnt something you guys are that interested in - although you do moan about the quality all the time.
I will continue to offer some sort of good will to PT as they are actually really nice people to deal with and have been overly generous to us bearing in mind the problems we have thrown at them for 4PPV buys.
They have actually given us more free streams over the months than our members have bought.
Hopefully that will change going forward.
Whilst I am on my soapbox, I will once again state the position on streaming.
Any comments posted with links will be deleted and members will be warned. What you do via PM is your choice.
As to the legality of it - myp2p has disappeared. They had been under legal proceedings having previously one a case. As with all of these streaming sites, they work on the basis that they dont post the streams and absolve themselves in that way. However, the streams ARE illegal.
We will not risk the sites continued existance over some selfish peoples intent on stealing - because that is what it is. Our stance will not change on this in the near future, so there is no point arguing your case. We have made the decision for the greater good of the forum. Anyone who posts links to these sites will be endangering the forum (others have already been closed down) and having been warned about this on more than one occasion, will receive a ban.
So feel free to tell people about your illegally streaming (and admitting your moral failings ), but dont post any links to them on the site.
So to recap a rather lengthy post for a Friday.
Boxnation criticism - fill your boots
Primetime - disappointed in our buying figures and you can criticise but within house rules (as before)
Streaming - do not post links or you will receive a ban
Have a nice day,
Your friendly neighbourhood Hobo
