I would not go near Mullan for a 6 nations game chris same for Attwood. Attwood did not start for gloucester and does not start for Bath.
Ever since Attwood was a kid there have been doubts over his toughness for his position and every club seems to have these.
Mot talented lock in the British Isles on ability but a bit lacking elsewhere

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I was tryin gto think of his name! Couldnt remember it, let alone spell it. Would agree completely with you.
Im pretty sure Croft will excel again without Johnson and coaching staff, and think he is vital to our gameplan at lineout. The good thing with Robshaw, Croft and Wood is that you can get some great combos there, escp as Robshaw and Wood can play 6&7 very well.
Is Gray starting each game for Quins now? I put Webber there as I know that Lancaster is a big fan, and from sounds of it Steve Thompson has re-injured his neck and Wasps dont know when (or if) he will be back! Webber's been playing very well too, but think getting players that have a winning mentality are key, so Gray would be a good call.
What do people make of Robson for Quins? Could he step up, or are there better options?

I wish Haskell stayed and played for Wasps this year - he'd be playing every game as no8 and even though his basics arent there I do feel that we'd have a far more balanced backorw of Croft/Robshaw Wood Haskell.

I suppose you're right there Pete, well hopefully some new faces will emerge now and start to develop. Wood, Robshaw and Sharples need to be regular starters now I feel.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
I didn't think there would be major changes but this document has made me think that perhaps there will be. Maybe a clear the air meetings between the new EPS squad when it is announced to clear the issues that this will bring up.
The money driven players really winds we up. There is no International level player who isn't paid well for his services and that shouldn't be the problem or aim of any player at the world cup. I have no problem with people endorsing products and making money off of their position but it isn't a priority.

Think the next step will be these players who made the comments being outed.
Could even see some of them being hung out to dry by the media and the RFU actually taking some action due to public pressure.
Be interesting to see the reponse england get at 6n games. I am off to the wales, Italy and Ireland games this year and it will be interesting to say the least.
I was at Andy Robinsons last game in charge when fans were booing him at the end

7 Wood
8 Waldrom

10 Flood
11 Sharples

13 Tuilagi
14 Ashton
15 Foden
Is a team I would like to see. Think the 8,9,10 Tigers axis would be beneficial, and although the centre combo is young, it is strong and you need to get players developing. No idea who to put 4, not Attwood though.

Darn good team that - really exciting team. Wonder how Sam Tomkins will do. I think if he impresses them then a union club will come and buy him direct from Wigan - RFU have to spend their profit on something!

I imagine Tomkins will be a marked man. Read something the other day from a RL exec stating how much more talented league players were and how they continue to provide Union with talent as Union can't provide their own.

He's over-exagerating that. Ashton and Robinson the two who have been a success (perhaps add Vainikolo to that).
The players go where the money is, exactly like Union players went to League in the 90's

Think the only other person who has come over and done ok is Myler - though it would be interesting to see how many league players are poached by union clubs before they make a debut in league.
Otherwise I can only think of 3-4 players who have been taken from league in the last year or so, as in all honesty the improvements of most clubs academies in recent years has meant the influx of league players has never materialised.

I know it looks a little biased but I have my reasons. Parling/Robson close call but think Parling brings more in terms of carrying which we lack a little in Lawes and Attwood can't yet lead a lineout.
Don't think Robshaw needs much backing up. Barritt is my "biased" choice. In a ideal world I'd like to see:
12. Tuilagi
13. Trinder/May
I just see this midfield is a little raw and could be defensively suspect (not as individuals but as a unit with Tuilagi not playing much 12).
Barritt brings an outstanding defense (Tindalesq) and could be our defensive leader amongst a young backline. I'm like many of you unsure if Barritt is Int quality but he has stepped up and was outstanding against the NZM. I don't want to come across as bias, I'd have Barritt in there if I didn't have in if I'm brutely honest. He probably isn't the long term future but he'd be a good lynchpin.
My bench would be made up of Gray, Attwood, Croft, May/Trinder, Care, Farrell.
I see many calling for Farrell but I think him and Tuilagi is a little raw. I'd like to see Farrell eased in gently as 10/12 cover over the 6N and see how he goes.

He rejected the Saxons because of injury apparently Steve and didn't want to come in half fit. He's a 50/50 to me, can understand why he wants to leave his options open and not get cheaply capped by England.
The lads from Bristol though I think lived here till 19yo so you'd think his priorities would be with England.

Think Michael Vaughan made a very good point about the whole situation with this report that has been leaked, he tweeted earlier saying:
"Makes me giggle with all the miss management at the RFU that a talent like Cipriani isn't picked because he isnt professional"

With Ben Morgan in my eyes I'd think he'd be looking to go for England, would love to see him pick the Welsh but with the sudden rise of Faletau I think he'd have less competition for the England 8 spot.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Pooly with Cips I honestly believe that if Johnson's man management was good enough and the English coaching set up was any good then they would have put their arm round him, nurtured the youngster and not hung him out to dry then I expect we would now have England's no1 fly half...
Man management is woeful at England, coaching set up has been sh ite for years and years - with a decent coaching set up I think England could go back to being a top two rugby nation as we;ve got so many players, but when a player says that the coaching set up is better at their own club yhou have to seriously worry!
Agree with you Prop, reckon if Faletau didnt develop so darn fast then Morgan would have gone for Wales - heard rumours he might be moving to an AP team by end of the season.

I think he'll pick England and i hope he does because he is a monster talent and exactly what our back row needs.
Guys
Bids from abroad will be coming in soon so keep you eye open for them, the better you are doing in the league the less you are likely to get for a bit part player whilst the bottom half will get offers on there big names at a more substancial value.
I.E
Andy Caroll cost £35m because he stood out in a average team so looked a world beater.
Daniel Struddige cost Chelsea nothing because he's value was less due to better players infront of him.

May can play 12 really well pooly so could be 12 may 13 tuilagi.
Parling needs to prove himself. Robson offers same carrying but much better lineout.
Robshaw wood could
Work but still undecided on robshaw at top level.
Stevens still needs to be involved and Parling better Bench than attwood

Assuming we get Lancaster as caretaker, see Easter getting a 'caretaker' role as captain. Worth testing Farrell/Barritt over the 6N, and i'd like to see 36 given some game time if he nails the 12 shirt between now and then at Leicester - he's due back from injury this week and they have really missed him. Parling is also the best option we have available right now - him, Croft and Wood - with Easter and Lawes - is a serious lineout.

Good team Luke and we all seem to be pretty similar really.
Matt, horses for courses I guess with Parling/Robson. Two very good, in form locks. Both have that bit of class about them that would not look out out of place for England.
I'd prefer May at 13 I think where he gets that little bit more time to put the gas on. We have some real talent coming through, it's just the middle stage of club to Int that we're poor at.

Agree there pooly I think robson and Parling are top end but not internationals but as with robshaw deserve the chance for consistent excellence at top level.
If one of them does well that will do me. Parling looked an england player before his injury.
I would like oshea as England coach he has made so many players. Robson robshaw gray etc would be nowhere without him.
Like their young 7 also and lowe

My favourite position for May is 15 but I don't think he has a future there with England until at earliest the next world cup.
Spoilt for young options, but as Pooly says with the current strike rate we will oly see 1 in 5 at best make the grade

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Steven I have been banging on about may fr years and have watched him play. Hard to say watch him develop because he had it all from day 1. Experience will help and will make him stronger.
His defence is water tight and now he is strong enough to take it into contact better.
When cips was at wasps watched may slice up him and flutey (i think) countless times but get often lose ball in contact. That does not happen now and he was great against Toulouse from fb.
However for me he is a 12/13 he is like
English JOC.
Y
He is too skilful and good in tight channels for
Wing as it wastes him.
It's a dilemma as glos have trinder also. At glos he will play all over this year but by next year expect him to be centre or fb who pops up first receiver etc.
We have jsd sharples may trinder efs tindall morgan burns Lewis mills robson how do you play them all!? Answer some will move on. We have loads out of contract in summer scary
