Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
garvey is solid but not spectacular in the lineout.
in the loose he is superb, his work rate is second to none and makes s hit loads of tackles.
one of the first names on the team shirt for irish for me.
robson is another one who has really impressed me.
wallace from quins is definitely a great prospect and i thought care had a good game today, more controlled than simpson.

Gutted with that result today stnick, thought we were the better side, and had we nailed all of our kicks we'd have won 16-15. LBP away at the champions is not a bad result at face valeue, but I think we've missed a real chance to take 4 points off them there.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
we were the better side, fair play farrell played well for them.
corbisiero got a real going over from nieto but dermody and rautenbach did well when they came on.
we lacked a little spark in the backs and tagi or delon could have made a difference. ansbro was very quiet, spratt lively. hodgson dire. the difference hala'ufia makes is huge. not just his carries, but at the breakdown he cleans out well and allows us much quicker ball. love watching him run with ball in hand and just swot people off.

Ps what do people make of Hooper, the new Quins outside centre, he seems to be scoring a lot at the moment whilst waiting for Lowe to recover from injury? I still havent seen him play!?

Just watching Tigers/Saints game, great match.
Good to see Youngs looking crisp again and service looks swift, Foden electric from the back. Ashton needs sorting, his hair drag on Tuilagi was a disgrace tbh and then getting carried over the line by Matt Smith for opening score. Think he needs to concentrate on his own form rather than being a dcik

You'll see some Ashton magic later on Pooly.
I thought Youngs was under performing in the game in parts. He seemed to be knocking on a lot.

Really Steve? Think he's having a stormer so far, swift delivery and making great snipes. Looks in cracking form.
I'm only just about to finish 1st half mind. 36 & Smith looking good.
Foden is so far ahead for England 15 jersey

Foden never seems to stop improving.
People cited problems with his kicking a year or so ago and its very decent now. Occasionally he misses a tackle but thats the case for everyone.
What did you think of the brawl Pooly?? I thought Wood was unlucky, but see why Tuilagi went because he was throwing punches which were missing. Agulla should have seen yellow and Murphy should have seen red

3 players could go onto become best players in world in position over the next few year in Foden, Youngs and Cole.
With you there on brawl Steve, was handbags from Tuilagi. Think Wood deserved yellow but Murphy worst culprit. Still can't get over Ashton pulling him out by hair!

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Ashton had a good game, the opposition try and mark him out of it completely but he is such a good finisher and works brilliantly with Foden. By far best English wing.
He's a complete wind up merchant though, speaking to my friend who lives next door to the Saints owner over the weekend, he said that Ashton likes to be seen as a bit of a panto villain for some reason, getting booed by opposition fans makes him play better.
Was stupid to pull him by the hair, but it happens all the time in all honesty - usually a lot worse with some players known for grabbing other people's balls! Know what I'd prefer...
Wonder if any of them will get cited? Dont they have 48 hours for a citing to take place?

Youngs was a mixed bag throughout and knocked on and got caught. did some good stuff but played like somebody on his way back from injury.
How he did not have his leg broke at the end is a mystery, watch it pooly and you will be surprised. flood was good ball in hand although kicked terribly.
Lamb was mixed bag and Mafi and Salvi were excellent

Care's been playing pretty well for Quins last few games, hopefully we can get him, Youngs and Simpson all on good form as they all offer something different for England.
Simpson again was one of WAsps only decent players yesterday, think he could offer something very special from the bench for England if he continues to develop. Probably the only Wasps player who should be anywhere near an England shirt though!

Yea Floods kicking wasnt great, only up to half time. Shot in a little Walking dead in between.
Not see Wasps game yet, to get Simpson on bench would need to drop Youngs or Care which won't happen I don't think.
Salvi was looking good at breakdown

Ashton should be cited, my two youngest daughters, aged 2 and 4 pull each others hair. There should be an offence of a rugby player behaving like a little girl, and he should get a long ban for it.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Aguella should be as well, he threw in a couple of punches, as did Lawes. Tuilagi threw one punch, hope he doesnt get anything.
I always dread the Tigers v Saints game as I always lose 3-4 players through citings afterwards!
Think something needs to happen with a lot of the off the ball stuff - Murphy clearly took FOden out off the ball in the lead up to the winning try, cheating led to Tigers winning the game!

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
Murphy threw the most punches by far and was the reason the ball boy was placed in danger. Can't believe that he hasnt been done. Ashton did a stupid thing and should get a 2 week ban, but Murphy really caused it to spark up e.g. his punches got Tom Wood to run in!
Agulla threw quite a few at Lawes, which probably wasnt the smartest thing to do...

Thought he'd get two weeks for that! Cant believe Murphy got away without any action being taken against him - if you watch it, he throws so many punches - originally I thought Lawes threw a few, but he just went in and held Tuilagi - Murphy then caused everything to really kick off, he lands about 10 punches!
Did Wood get banned at all?

Horatio Agulla, Geordan Murphy and Courtney Lawes all issued with level 1 citings - equivalent of yellow cards

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
He deserved a ban but 4 weeks is pretty excessive in my view - the citing panel and the bans they hand out is becoming a laughing stock. How that gets 4 weeks, whilst Rougerie clearly eye gouged McCaw in the WC final and got nothing.
Still if you are stupid enough to pull a 19 stone man's hair you deserve what you get. Just wish RFU would sort itself out. How Murphy escaped I will never know!

That's what I mean though Pooly, the whole citing process is a shambles - you had the BOD incident all that time ago on the Lions tour and Melaemu and Umaga both went out to injure BOD, and Rougerie did gouge McCaw - what's the difference in when the television footage emerges. Really frustrates me.

Interesting that Andy Farrell has been picked in the England coaching set up - reckon that is a pretty big indication that Owen Farrell might be getting picked!
Lancaster has said he will be picking a host of new players. Hopefully will herald a new era for England.

Where did you read about the 'host of new players' Chris?
Only quote is saw was "The World Cup was enormously disappointing but we shouldn't forget that England won 10 out of 13 games this year and a Six Nations title," he said. "We have a promising group of players to go forward with and the challenge for Graham, Andy and myself is to get the best out of them."
Suggests not wholesale changes?

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4
The host of new players was for England and Saxons squads - reckon there will be quite a few new players in full squad though because players like Shaw, Moody, Haskell (12months) Wilkinson, Palmer, Tindall, Cueto, Thompson, Wigglesworth etc are probably unlikely to get picked again for various reeasons - that's space for nine new players straight away.

I just watched Shiells drive through Hayman twice and win a pen Chris. I thought we'd take a hammering in the scrum tbh but it's fairly equal, perhaps even shading to us.

newcastle no9 looks good - hes from Gloucester isnt he?
winds stopping the game flow - cant understand why Toulon just dont kick the ball deep and pressurise newcastle!
