The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the wedding pictures of Dan Carter and Honor Dillon above the bar! And if anyone tells the Australian Womens' Weekly that KiwiRedDevil's Mum smuggled a camera into the service* there'll be hell to pay - they paid a fair amount for the exclusive
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
Old Pub: https://www.606v2.com/t19779-the-dew-drop-inn-virtual-rugby-pub#757023
* Note to any lawyer-y types, that's a joke and is completely and utterly false, Mum forgot to put the camera in her handbag

Notch, do you need them yeah? I have nothing against Ulster people, I want to make that clear. Except Paddy Wallace.

Sarries learning how to play HC rugby. Having Stringer on helped in the end. Massive experience. Their defence was superb, but O's have absolutely no invention. Who'd have thunk it?

That would be nice.
I'm glad your pal Deccie doesn't have anything against Wallace- got an extension on his central contract until 2013.

Did you all hear that? Two minutes to play, the Ospreys trail by three with a scrum in their own half. John Smit goes down with an injury and the stadium announcer, that wannabe DJ with a deep fear of stoppages in play, plays a Christmas song over the tannoy.

Most people Gibbo, all the Welsh teams lack invention. So do Munster. But Munster have a pack to win games. Won't beat the top teams but good enoughto get to a HC 1/4 or maybe a semi.
Lucky I heard that, "All I want for Christmas was playing" I think all the Ospreys want for Christmas is a good crowd...

Cheers Thommy
Saracens are serious cheap shot merchants. That's the Ospreys feiced. I feel quite sorry for Cari and Pete. They are a better side than that. I think it summed it up for me when Beck was penalised for a double movement when he had two Saracens lying on him playing the ball on the ground and his own player driving into him caused the movement. Nothing went right for them tonight. They should have beaten Treviso away.
The ref was awful but was not the deciding factor. The WRU's decision to play Australia is looking worser and worser.

Yes that was possibly the dumbest thing the WRU have ever done. That's saying something!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Glas, I read an interview with Dan Lydiate in the Argus today and he mentioned that it had taken time for him and the other Welsh internationals to get used to the Dragons' way of playing after being away with the national side. I'm sure a one-off Test match helped that process no end.

idiots.
Oh well, all part of the learning curve. A little extra confidence and the midfield would have linked more effectively. Every half break was being snuffed out. But there were flashes there. I think the Ospreys will be a handful in the Rabi Blue's 12 pros after Christmas.

And Ospreys and Dragons and once in a...blue moon the, erm Blues. And if an Irish or Scottish club is playing a French or English club.
I'll stick by my point though. What he did may have technically been a penalty but so was what the Saracens were doing. It just showed the rub of the green was with them was my suggestion. Mind you the Britz decision was a shocker and the Brown harsh and completely out of character if technically accurate.
But hey, Saracens will he in the QF to fly the flag for HC ticket sal...England

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Not really, Thomond. The Welsh international players were away with the national team for months. Adjusting to their regions' way of playing would take a while after so long away, and to have to revert to the national methods for a one-off match is something they could have done without.

I think it's a poor excuse it should be an easy transition. I accept your point but changing a style of play should be swift. The Irish lads have no problem neither did the English guys.

Thomond's got a point, apart from the fact that what he said was horribly apparent in Essetur, in the first half at least.

That's the Sarries supporters Asbo. Then you have to count the shirt tailers. That's about 35,000.

T,
Scarlets play great rugby. Just need to get clued up on how to win the big ones in the HC. Sometimes ugly... sometimes sexy.
They were a better team than Munster last week, just missed chances and took the wrong decisions at key times.
That knowledge will come.

I'm watching the darts. Phil Taylor is a legend.
He's playing a Japaneese in the first round. What do the Japs know a bout darts?
Is there such a thing as a kamikaze darts player?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I was thinking earlier that one of the good things about the old 606 was that threads on the same topic weren't merged. Don't get me wrong, sometimes it's a blessing that they are, but say after a game, you could have three articles about it that would develop in different but equally good ways and you don't get that here. Then again, the old 606 would shut at eleven.
