The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the picture of Maxime Medard* above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
Last Pub: https://www.606v2.com/t21314-the-dew-drop-inn-virtual-rugby-pub
* While the other suggestion of Owens, Thomas and Hughie had merit, I couldn't face having Hughie's mug on the wall

anyhoo, do any of the Welsh regs know how easy it is to get to Llangennech? Or can you only drive there?
That's a perfectly viable reason dreamer and plus when the WC was in Wales on 99 sure you only had three stadium to hold games in, we would still be playing now if it was kept confined to the principality

ah boo yes it is. Never mind Penfro. Misread the article and though Scarlets U16's were playing Blues U16's away, so thought maybe there was a Llangennech near here too. No matter.

After the last debacle with the utter disrespect shown to the developing nations, I really think it has a long way to go in calling itself a legit tournament. I certainly hope they give them more time to prepare and rest during the pool stages. That would be a major step forward in its credibility.

Fine, what about 2007 then. the RWC was well established by then, and no one had a problem with Wales hosting pool games. What's the problem now? All seems a bit odd that a fuss is being kicked up now and why that first reson seems to be a bit of an excuse.
Stag - perhaps it is corruption, I dunno, but its been happening for years and no one's even blinked. What's the bother with it this time?

Because no one played all there home games in one stadium, the fact that they are suggesting Wales play all there games in the MS is just BS

Hughie did you even read the article I put up a link to?
We won't be playing ALL of our games there, that hasn't even been suggested.

Dreamer my problem is with all pool matches being at Millenium. I have no problem in Wales playing a match at Millenium and neutrals using it the rest of the time.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
The bottom line is that we shouldn't have any games at the Millennium Stadium at the England 2015 World Cup, whether there's precedent or not.
And Gibbo, you're spot on about all nations having equal rest days between matches next time 'round. That's a must.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Only 2 pool matches of Wales' would be at the MS, the other pool matches played there would be played by neutrals (I think there might be another 1 or 2). Then for QF its down to the draw if Wales play there(if we qualify out of the group), and the SF's and F obv aren't going to be played there. That's it.

can I have a link to those? I've only seen the guardian one stating we'd play 1 perhaps 2 matches there against a tier 2/3 nation, no where have I seen that we'd play all games there (and that I'd disagree with even more then us just playing 1 or 2!)

Did they Munsty? I don't remember it being reported on? (I've no doubt I'm completely wrong here )
I'm with Lucky 100% on all of this, but as it stands the agreement is there, and it has been since 1999, all I'm saying is I can see how Wales are going to get a couple of games (not ALL). The RFU aren't going to pass up the chance I think to get sell out games, especially for the less popular matches, say if it's Wales v Georgia or something. It'll happen, because they need to make the money.
Tis the realities of our sport at the moment, that whilst it's unfair, for a couple of games at least, the need to generate massive amounts of money are going to talk. No way of avoiding that.
And I'm pretty sure with regards to tier 2 sides being shafted re: rest and recovery time between matches, I'm sure something was mentioned about that after this wc. Scheduling is definitely going to be changed. Again will see if I can find an article...

Munsty - hmm, I'll see if I can dig some articles up later after work but I honestly don't remember there being any bother about it.

Hoi Cricket. Glad to hear you are on the mend pal.
Question: Who, if anyone, is going to their clubs HC games this weekend?
I have a late goo on me to go to Glasgow now. Probably too late ticket-wise tho.
Anyone going to it? Puma? Its local.

Gibbo - I'll be supporting Connacht against Toulouse rather than Munster this weekend. I'm going to Milton Keynes for Northampton v Munster next weekend so I can survive missing Munster this weekend.

Im grand Cricket. Updating my CV to make it look sexy. Had to reduce it from 9 pages to 3. Not easy. It was like a bleedin novel.
Can't believe some of the sheet I've done. And I really cant believe they actually paid me for it.
Im told, that if a HR (basterds) person is not impressed in the 1st paragraph or page - they bin it.
WTF do they know about IT?
In fairness, they have to go through 100's of them for any particular job or contract. Id probably do the same.
Good stuff Dreamer. I can almost see you hopping up and down with excitement on the terraces. It was a joy to see you do it when we stood shouting for Scarlets together. Love passionate fans. Only way to be.

That just says it all about you Stag. Excellent. You will love the stadium and city. Rugby nirvana.
Franklin Gardens too. Just looks like a really good stadium and with a passionate crowd.
Man, to think you were going to work in a Heldpesk. and, you get paid for this?

ha Gibbo, I was a bit like a crazy person that day, the news about Georgie pulling out last minute sent me over the edge a bit I think! I just get too much adrenaline going through my system! The buzz though at going to Y Parc, I blydi love it. So glad to have shared it with you and all the other regs who made it
Ah boo the evil CV. Am going to have another go at mine this evening, I'm just not very good at writing the first paragraph. If you've got any handy tips, let me know! (although the stuff Rava e-mailed me through months ago about CV's is brilliant, really really helpful ) Good luck with yours Gibbo

Gibbo, Im in the process of redesigning our web page at work (mainly telling IT guys what I want done) and they are saying that "apparently" a website only has 3.5 seconds to grab someones attention. People nowadays want info fast and hassle free.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
That's the way Gibbo!! If only you were under 24 I could help you and get paid for it!
Morning all, woken up at 6am by my sister's cat who wanted feeding, glad they're back today so he can't wake me again! With regards to Wales playing matches at home I'd rather all the matches were played in rugby stadiums in the host nation and that they didn't use football stadiums. Guess it's all about money, I don't think we'll sell out certain stadiums as much as they did in N.Z.

Coporate Ravenhill with Rav. Sounds brilliant bud. But, I'll have to wait and see where Leinster get in the Heino. That's priority. Then, really looking forward to the Ireland v Scotland 6-N game.

Its true Stag. We have gone all American. The attention-span of a goldfish. And not only that, new punters will judge the whole company on it. No matter how good a rep they have.
Its vital to get it right.

€10 Limerick to Dublin, and free WIFI on board too. Handy out.

Love ye long time. `
P.S. Mick, I talked to Chris (Gordon Darcy) in Cassidy's and said that he should have a picture of all the fans who frequent it - on the wall. He just said, give it to me Cookie and it will get pride of place. Must do it man. We started the fans going there. You, Micky, meself and most of all - Patrick Pierce.
