The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the picture of Maxime Medard* above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
Last Pub: https://www.606v2.com/t21314-the-dew-drop-inn-virtual-rugby-pub
* While the other suggestion of Owens, Thomas and Hughie had merit, I couldn't face having Hughie's mug on the wall

Actually I might have a spare if you are interested
Coporate Ravenhill with Rav. Sounds brilliant bud. But, I'll have to wait and see where Leinster get in the Heino. That's priority. Then, really looking forward to the Ireland v Scotland 6-N game.
Rava, Asbo, Huggie and Gibbo on Tour. In Dublin. Mother of Divine...
I'm assuming you left me out of that because i technically won't be "on tour"....
Jayz NO Mick! Its just that Asbo told me he got 4 tickets for us. You going to the game? Either way, I hope yerself and Mucky T are out and up for it. It wouldnt be the same.
Love ye long time. `
P.S. Mick, I talked to Chris (Gordon Darcy) in Cassidy's and said that he should have a picture of all the fans who frequent it - on the wall. He just said, give it to me Cookie and it will get pride of place. Must do it man. We started the fans going there. You, Micky, meself and most of all - Patrick Pierce.
That'll be me mate.

I think you’ll find that you’re the one that wears the skirt Asbo!
Ha, I was only pullin yer leg Gibbo. I’m not sure if I’m going to the match, but I might pop down to Cassidys and watch it with Pat and we’ll see you there afterwards. Ha, if they want a pic for the wall it could be arranged, fame at last wha?!

All very easy. If anyone asks you are all Munster referees. Asbo your George Clancy, Rava can be Peter Fitzgibbon, Hughie is John Lacey and Gibbo can be the now retired Dave McHugh.
I plan on popping up and watching the paint dry in a pub (with MickyT and Mickado??). Have some 606 antics afterwards.

Also did anyone see that Maggie Thatcher has a movie comiong out. The Iron Lady. I see it has a 12A cert. Means that its not suitable for miners.

Stag -
I've just remembered another weird dream I had last night. I had to live on a planet made out of cheese. Most strange.
Reckon I'm going to start writing down my dreams and turning them into stories, the ideas are random enough for it to work
(also, anyone know how to make a headache go away? I've taken a couple of paracetamol and drunk loads of water, but the stupid thing aint shifting )

Asbo, an Irish ref? We'd better get the Scotsman up to speed then. They'd never believe he's a kosha ref.
And... IM NOT retired! I think I''ll be Wayne Barnes on a consultancy mission.

Ah you'd have loved it Rava. The rivers and waterfalls were cheese fondu, mountains made out of stilton (bit smelly like), the brie was sand which was a bit weird but whatever works. I love my imagination.

Just added the 6nations dates to my wall planner in work. The last day is on Paddy's day (Saturday) and there are 3 matches on in a row. As if i needed another excuse to go to the pub for the entire day.

'Tis the season Rav!
Paddy's day is really one of my favourite days of the year. For those of you who don't know, Saint Patrick is the patron saint of vomitting and sh!tting in doorways, and that's how we celebrate him every March 17th.

I LOVE Super-Saturday, Mick. Its just.. well, it's rugby & drink madness really. Drunk by the 1st game. Razzed by the 2nd. Unintelligable by the 3rd.
Excellent.

How do everyone?
Just over half an hour until the EPS annoncement and I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof. Have heard a few whispers from various sources of who's in and out, and can't make up my mind if they are good selections/ommissions or not!

Was just thinking this yesterday while reading the KEET Earls thread. How bloody good was Gordon Darcy in his day? In 2007 he was absolutely unreal. I remember in the first game against Wales he must have made 5 meters every time he touched the ball. Every bit as good as BOD when attacking with the ball in his hand, BOD just had more facets to his game.

Lucky!
I vaguely remember Super Saturday 2007. I was ridiculously drunk by the 2nd match. Had some of my best stories from Uni from that day though including the mysterious bottle of Vodka incident. I can safely say I did not behave myself at all.
This year it also ties in with my flat mates birthday, I have but one word for it: carnage!

I am surprised with some of the inclusions/ommissions if correct, but from what I've heard from other sources I think it might be.

I've had a look at that on the thread, Pete. I'm hoping a lot of these young promising players are actually given their head in the Six Nations, because for the most part they're just names to me (with me not having Sky) and I haven't seen them play.

In answer to Gibbo's query about support for teams 'live', I did have a look online for tickets for Glasgow v Leinster this w/e but it was pretty much sold out. Annoying, cause the vibe will be something not usually experienced at Firhill. In other news, my sat dish is still out of alignment, Sky f**cked up booking a two man 'height' team and, due to storm damage all over central Scotland, I now have to wait until 21st. They put the dish half way up a chimney 8?9? years ago and they still cannae get it right. I have signed up to SkyGo now so all is not lost.

He was on fire Mick. At his very peak. They both were.
Just really happy for him, that he managed to come back from that really scary, long-running, arm-injury and win 2 x Heinos & a SLAM. It would have been tragic had he not been part of it all.

I have to say I think England will do well this year. I can see them retaining the title. It all hinges on the match against France. Home matches against Wales and Ireland. Away games against weaker teams - Scotland and Italy.
I think it is brilliant that Lancaster cancelled their training camp in sunny Portugal and instead has them sodden in rainy muddy Leeds.

Well the conditions in Leeds will be more what they're likely to experience during the Six nations, so it makes sense.
It could go either way for England, which I find really exciting - as a non-Englishman. If I was English I might be more worried by the uncertainty.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Ozzy,
I hope England give some of the new talent they have unearthed in the Prem. And, I hope our Deccie follows their lead re the PRO12/Heino.
Near all teams in transition/new coaches/players etc. NOW is the time to do it.

Great squads Pete! Will Robshaw make it? Farrell has been a revelation. So many possibilities and it shows off England's depth.

Same old problem for England as far as I can see to be honest. If you look at the two squads there is very little difference in terms of quality. What is needed is for players to stand up and take their chance and for the coaches to quickly identify who is going to make it long term and then make the tough decision of cutting those who won't.

Why are the Saxons backs better than the main backs?
I predict Turner-Hall will be in contention for find of the tournament.

Gibbo, I think Lancaster has merely picked the best English players, nearly all starters clubs.
Picking guys who do well in the Pro 12 but sit on a bench the whole HEC won't help Kidney.
Our situation is very different to England IMO. Pick our best team which contains Devin Toner at 4, Keith Earls at 13, Sexton at 10, Fitzgerald at 11 - i.e. still plenty of change from RWC.
