How many Chelsea academy players leave at academy age and make it big elsewhere. or Liverpool. Or Arsenal?

I don't think United have got much of a claim than a lot of other teams

Think your missing the point Afro

Rooney... Very Happy

I could list you all the West Ham players that have gone from our academy to elsewhere, or even worse those that have come through, played for us and then buggered off. That would be some list.

Is that the same Rooney who had played 77 times for us, was playing for England and had been England's best player at Euro 2004 (incidentally since he left us, he has been poor for England)

It's the same one I believe... But I was only prodding you as an Everton fan.

I don't think the move had much bearing on his performances for England. I think if we factor in that England have been poor altogether since 2004, it's hardly a surprise his performances have been less eye-catching.

Nick - your point was that he should stay at United because how many other top, top players have left United at academy age and gone on to make it big elsewhere. Is that right?

My point - he should stay at United until he has broken into the first team at least because it is very unusual for academy players anywhere to leave their academy club before breaking into the first team, and then become world stars.

I think in truth, you missed the point, not me

- Nope

The point was Viva said
we've lost players trillion size the ability of you heck you ain't even a squad player yet, we lost Keane, Cantona other greats yet we move forward.

Yes that is true but it does not apply one bit to Ravels situation. That was the point I was trying to make. So I feel the statement made was fasle if talking about Ravel

Ok! Sodhat

I think you are right about England. I think it reflects that he is used to success at United and gets frustrated when things don't go right for England.

If he had stayed at Everton, he would be used to disappointment by now and be playing better for England as a result.

Err no because I questioned Vivas statement as soon as he said it which led me to say:
Theres a difference there. They did not emerge through the youth system.

Argue all you want, all of our best talent through the Youth system has stayed at Manchester United. Please name an highly talented youth team player to leave Man United......I cant think of one.

Debatable. He may not be the same player. Could be better, could be worse. Too many variables to make a statement like that IMO

Nick - you decide what my point was, that is fine Ok! Just let me know.

I do think that Viva's point was not directly relevant to Morrison's situation, but valid. Fans won't want him tom hold the club to ransom and they have lost bigger, better and more important players and moved on. I think Viva's point was "f off Morrison. We don't need you and we will still be a success without you" I don't think you saw it as that.

I also think it is very unusual, and a modern thing for such young players to leave because they can get more money elsewhere, so stating what has happened in the 90s is also not relevant. I would say Pique and Rossi are much better examples for that situation than the class of 92.

And on Rooney, it was tongue in cheek 🤦

Thats a fair point but using Cantona, Keane as example doesnt work for a youth player.

because they can get more money elsewhere
- Agents.

I would say Pique and Rossi
Debatable. IMO Pique was always going to return home.
Rossi maybe so. Apparently he was not suited to the English game. Meh, IMO he went to play football and earn more so yes.

ED, he is Manchester Born n Bred. Fans have watched him for 2 years excel at a youth level and KNOW he can be a big big World Class Star. Fans want him to be one at Man United. Nothing wrong with people giving "him the time of day".
He is still a Manchester United player, Fans turn on him he goes. Then we will have to watch him become a Superstar elsewhere because if, Big IF, he focuses he will become one

Nick you keep having wet dreams about Morrison the guys I just mentioned Keane and Cantona would urine out more talent then that idiot Morrison, and I haven't even mentioned Ronaldo and others what I'm saying is we've had played bigger then him that have left us played who meant something Cantona was the second king but we carried on.

Who said anything about youth system? I just stated we've lost better players simple whether they come from youth system or from another clu.Being born and bred means jack in todays era, Rooney a born scouser plays for a Manchester club, club loyalty is dead Nick. I'm sorry but I can't support rapists, racists, thugs even if they play for my club because that is wrong.

Sorry Fan I thought you were on about the younger brother one at Hibs he is dreadful and a little thief.

Laugh Laugh OK Viva. Good point we have lost better and carried on winning ways. I 100% agree on that as there is a large list

But would you like to read back a little, Actually ill point it out below to help you.

Viva says:
Being born and bred means jack in todays era, Rooney a born scouser plays for a Manchester club, club loyalty is dead Nick.

I actually said: "he is Manchester Born n Bred. Fans have watched him for 2 years excel at a youth level and KNOW he can be a big big World Class Star. Fans want him to be one at Man United."

Yes I mention Manchester Born n Bred but can you tell me where I mentioned Player Club Loyalty?

Danny Welbeck was watched in the same way by Fans. Local fans love seeing local lads come through the ranks. Im not a local fan but I love it. Its part of what Manchester United are about.

Been to loads of derbies, Barca, Bolton, just a great atmosphere and a great bunch of people to go with.
