I may be one of the few but I think overall the German Football League is better then the English one including the top tier.

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
Can't believe people accusing Pull of cheating. Insane.
Also can't understand why people have come across from the other league to try and infringe on what Pull wants to do, just do your own thing on your own league. I particularly liked the 'lay down the law fam' comment though a few pages back.

One final point, does this mean I have fifth choice for teams?

Yes mate, you have 5th choice. Which side(s) would you prefer if you aren't about?

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
I wasn't accusing him of cheating at all, I was saying that to show that there could be no question of cheating done then a PM'd system would leave no doubt for anyone.
Big difference.
Big difference.

Any volunteers?

Probably because you're 12th to pick?
How does it not leave doubt for anyone? A PM is exactly that, PRIVATE.
Erm in order of preference...
Madrid
Barca
Bayern
City
United
Spurs
Chelsea
Inter Milan
Arsenal
Milan
Liverpool
Juventus

Because the way it would have worked is that two people pick the letters of the players and teams and PM their results to a neutral party beforehand.
Then they are posted on the page and the neutral person can verify that there has not been any tampering with them. Not exactly rocket science.

Hodgey wrote:

I think that is missing the point a bit.
And I don't think anyone is accusing Pull of cheating, (and in my experience he wouldn't).
But the point was that the two people who generated the two lists could have both PM'd them to a third person ahead of posting on here. That way the third person would be able to see that neither list had changed when they were posted.
Now Pull wouldn't have cheated, but had he done the PMs, then those that don't know him will be reassured and he would have saved the whole discussion.

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
Why would they even tamper with them? It's only a game and Pull has done this hundreds of times before. For all you know, the three could come together and fiddle results in the PMs. At least here it's clear for everyone to see.

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
Obviously my last point there about it being clear to see could be misconstrued but what I'm saying is the possibility of the three people fiddling with results is the same as the two. Low.

In one of the rugby games, there's one runner who always ends up with the best team and on the occasion when he didn't, he decided to not take a team
Hodgey wrote:It's only a game and Pull has done this hundreds of times before.
I know that and you know that, but not everyone knows it, so it would just have been a reassurance for them.
Hodgey wrote:For all you know, the three could come together and fiddle results in the PMs. At least here it's clear for everyone to see.
And they would still have posted both lists on the page, so it would be equally as clear, just that 1 other person will know both lists ahead them going up. You are right, all 3 could collude and fix the list, but it is still more transparent than just posting on the main page.
Anyway, I wish you luck. I will keep a watchful eye without taking part and may the best team win

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
It'd be wonderful if cheating didn't occur in these games, that everyone took it at face value.
But some people do.
Some set up more than one account, trade between teams to make one strong and then dump the poor team. Some politically vote on results not based on teams but just on who is in charge.
It happens and that's why any chance to be as open as possible is in my opinion always the best method.

I've been around these games for ages mate so I know what happens. I've been in countless leagues yet I've only seen cheating like that in one or two.

That you know of.
As site owner I get PMs galore of suspected account sharing for this very purpose, and in several cases its been proven. As league runner I also see the results coming in and it's quickly apparent when patterns emerge on votings.
Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
I think I've PM'ed you about a certain Blogs before Hero! In all seriousness, we have a decent group of managers here and a bit of a waiting list so should be good. Cheating will absolutely not be tolerated, as you'd expect.
Will be interesting to see the differences in rating of players, the FL managers will put a different slant on this league than we're used to traditionally.
If Fluxy comes on before 6, let him choose, otherwise:
1. Barca
2. Real
3. City
4. Bayern
5. United
6. Fishers choice.
Will be on later chaps.

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
Regarding foreign transfers, do we need to give a reason or just detail who we want?
Are foreign transfers realistic, or complete fantasy as long as the cash is available?

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
I know, not sure where he is
We're waiting on Fisher now so will give Fluxy a chance to show up.
For transfers, no reason is needed, just the player and cash bid. No part exchanges.
Fantasy - based on the cash bid rather than which team the player goes to.

Yes mate, create a page for your team. Use wikipedia.. Max squad size 25.
Loans should be honoured - if they are out on loan you cannot include them, if they are in on loan you can.
