Cullen injured Sykes also struggling. Anyone watch rugby club tonight their breakdown of sharples and may excellent. Pointing out attacking threat and also high ball skills. Sharples should have Ashton's place disagree with may on bench as I want him to play next season.
Same with jj. We have 13s to die for coming through.
Dean Ryan excellent pundit about England job saying rfu don't know what they want and he would not apply as section process not right and England playing same rugby under Lancaster as he is committee choice and not rugby choice. Fantastic pundit average coach

Got rugby club recorded. I really like Greenwood, Morris and Ryan as the pundits. The show seems to have stepped up its game since last season.

Indications Morgan and Dickson start. Barritt vunerable due to Farrell being kicker

Really disheartened with Farrell starting, fail to see what he offers from midfield

sale and irish in for Cipriani.
Agree Pooly, much rather have Barritt starting over Farrell. Flood or Hodgson can both do goal kicking dont need Farrell starting just for that.

Farrell offers kicking, organisation and is very vocal. I would trust his kicking over Floods and Hodgson's any day. He might not offer anything in attack, but if England brought in Tuilagi and Sharples then I think the backline transforms.

I'd be interested to see him with Flood but alongside Hodgson our 10/12 combo is so blunt it's unreal. Opposition defences are so easy to set up as nothing is ever ran.

I've said it before numerous times, I don't want Barritt and Tuilagi as a pairing.
Farrell offers a 2nd option as first receiver and has a better passing game as well as his obvious kicking game.

Could be right there about Flood there Pooly - do you think Lancaster would drop Hodgson though? He doesnt seem the sort that would.
I'm not sure that he will start Tuilagi against Wales - do think we run the risk of being run ragged by them next week if we arent careful.
Tactics all updated etc.

For me it makes sense to go Barritt and Tuilagi to stop Roberts and Davies building up much momentum. I'd like to see Sharples in for Strettle or Ashton. Probably Strettle thinking about it.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
I dont think Lancaster will make any changes - but would bring in Lawes for his defence, Tuilagi for his attacking threat and Sharples for a bit of spark on the wings - think you can cause Wales trouble with a bit of speed and flair as no point in just having players that play similar game to Roberts and Davies who arent anywhere near their class as it just means we focus on stopping Wales instead of causing them trouble ourselves!

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Steve I wasn't advicating a Barritt/Tuilagi midfield (although I think it would be excellent) more that Farrell offers zero attacking threat from midfield and this is something we can't afford.
I look at Farrell and see a 10 playing 12, yes he can pass as in Hodgson passes to Farrell and Farrell spins it out to the next man. But he doesn't fix his man, never threatens the line and really is just another man along the chain of obviousness.
It's no surprise we have so few line breaks as the 10/12 combo offers no threat with ball in hand so the 13/14/15 are fixed early and no space to work in. Similar with the 9 (I'm not using this as excuse for Youngs) but what can he do apart pass to a forward or to Hodgson who just passes it along the line.
We seen with Dickson who initially increased the tempo but then started getting caught at the rucks.
I only see a short term fix of Barritt/Manu but see how people would not think this would work.
Going forward I see Farrell as a 10 with either a crash option at 12 or a hybrid 12.
10. Farrell/Flood
12. Twelvetrees/Tuilagi/Barritt
13. Trinder/May/JJ
I think this would help cover up Farrell's obvious faults. He has some cracking attributes but we can't afford to have a centre who offers nothing in attack.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Farrell just needs to adopt an attacking game - will never be a player that runs through people.
Think the problem is that the 12-13 combination currently offers no attacking threat whatsoever - if neither can do anything against Scotland and Italy its a sign that they arent attackers at this level. Barritt great defensive player, but dont see anything else from him.
Think it might go Barritt and Tuilagi in midfield but Barritt will just be a stop gap until someone better comes along.

Barritt has been the only back to attack the line Chris, he offers a lot more in attack than Farrell. I'm not comparing them as players but Barritt is a more natural centre and it shows.
Of 5 defenders beaten Barritt has 2 of these, nearly 50% of our whole line break stats!

Farrell is learning his role at 12 before moving to 10 I think. Same way they did Flood and Wilkinson.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
That is a sorry state of affairs for a backline to make 5 line breaks against Scotland and Italy. We actually made Lamont and de Luca look like decent attacking centres...
Barritt is a great defender, but honestly don't think he offers an attacking threat that defenders struggle to deal with - hardly saw him pass to the back three at all.
Will see a massive improvement if we bring back Tuilagi - only trouble with him is that he sometimes gets a bit of tunnel vision and doesnt make the simple passes. I'd bring in Sharples too.

We aren't going to go through Wales it's a simple as that. Have one option on the crash ball (Tuilagi the best bet if fit) and have someone with a bit more craft involved. I wouldn't be entirely against Hodgson, Flood, Tuilagi as a midfield.

on the irish fans forum majority of people saying they do not want him at irish.
i would take him any day of the week.
for all his defensive flaws, he can be a joy to watch in attack.

but it would also help to get the best out of JJ, Losi, Ojo.
We have a lot of players off at the end of this season including kennedy, hape, hala'ufia, delon, rautenbach. this should free up a big chunk of budget for new players.

Seems to be a AB tactic to keep him going, all geared up for Int rugby in NZ.
Loads of injuries in SA!
Barnes, Horne and Pretorious playing well in pre-season. Quite fancy the Tah's as outsiders:

Seen that coonie and smith round 3 that article says well before midway so here hopes.
The great thing about super 15 is they are owned by respective rfu's so don't rush people back and manage game time.
Mccaw has not trained much for years and is managed and carter plays less games than lesser players as you look after class. Leinster and Munster do this well in rabo.
How fresh do they look in hc and internationals. Ulster on other hand play their stars more

Not that I don't rate Horne I just don't think he's that great. Has changed his game slightly over the last year, always looked underpowered but seems to have bulked up. Looked decent in the WC, still think Aus look best with Barnes/AAC in midfield.

For me aac as 14 works better dynamite defence and rugby intelligence. Like teddy sheringham he lacks a yard of pace but more than makes up for it with vision and intelligence. Rarely see him make a mistake.
Intelligence is so vital. Look at Haskell has everything but a brain. Spies AJ Powell kankowski sob all super in some respects but zero rugby intelligence
