After the sudden walk out of their coach, Essex Eagles are in dire straits. Update, the ex-Kolkata Knight Riders coach Shanky has taken the position. Big changes expected at Essex.

I bit off more than I can chew in as much as I am part of this, Football and Wrestling fantasy leagues. CF had to quit the Football, i've chosen to quit the Cricket one.

I'm juggling all of this with work, married life, being a father to my daughter and being there for my pregnant wife.

There's no point me doing this half heartedly.

As it stands, me and Gregers will liaise and discuss the options available to us.

My idea is to shorten the leagues and randomly allot teams to a runners league instead of going north/south, seeing as there are 3 spaces in the southern league.

I mean, that we keep our allotted teams and get alloted to a league each. The teams not managed now's players would go into the pot after the auction.

Presumably we could scrap those counties currently available and put their players into the auction. Re-work the groups, if we still need to have 2 groups and adjust the season schedule as appropriate.

Alternatively, perhaps one of you or Gregers could flag up that players are needed on the cricket front page. That might gather some interest as, from the outside, this section perhaps looks like a closed shop and so people are reluctant to get involved or don't know it is happening.

As a more general point I think it is quite unrealistic to expect every single player that signs up for this to be available all the time, not lose interest etc. Thus, any format should have some sort of contingency which caters for the likely drop-outs.

good idea to have the randomised two leagues I reckon. Tbh the guys we have atm are probably the ones who would be more comitted than a maybe person who sees it advertised.

I'd be happy to take over one of the available teams (preferably Sussex or Durham). Not sure if this helps...

For the moment we can use shanky's team thread for player discussions, I'll get around to making my own shortly.

Well, just to confirm that I have switched allegiances from Northants to Sussex. Northants looked like being a good challenge but, given the shortage of managers Northants would be the first to go should more sides be dissolved, so I'll fill the void left at Hove now rather than be left out of a job if it comes to that.
