The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Mexico City Rugby Cantina
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has teleported to Mexico City for the first qualifying match for RWC 2015. There's also TVs showing Aviva Premiership, Rabobank Pro 12 and Super XV action.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of the Grand Slam Winners or Dan Carter who returns to rugby this weekend.

Munster in over the top there. Should have been a pen Connacht. Lucky there Billy.

The Munster defence has been outstanding! Mafi's hit was fine, big impact which made it look as if he didn't wrap the arms.

Four point win for Munster. Good game of rugby. Keeps Munster up there in the Rabo but they cannot really be happy with their form over the past two games. Connacht were much better for large parts of that game.
Credit though to Munster. They took their limited chances very well.

TOL is ok if he can provide quick ball, if not he looks exceedingly ordinary

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Mexico City Rugby Cantina
His tackling was woeful too though. In the first half, after Muldoon brushed him aside off the back of the scrum, TOL jumps back up and returns to the line, attempts a tackle and gets completely floored once again. Tackling used to be one of his strengths.

Billy no it wasn't that bad.
TOL is Poopie but don't let Ozzy/Pete know. He thinks London Irish have made a good signing. I think Munster have done well to get shot.

BRIAN MCLAUGHLIN POST-MATCH REACTION
"Treviso put us under a lot of pressure this afternoon, it was a far from perfect performance but I thought that we showed tremendous character to pull back and get the away win against a side that was full of Italian internationals.
We put them under a fair bit of pressure in the first five minutes but then we turned the ball over the ball which they hacked down the pitch to score a fairly soft try and put us 7-0 down at the start.
Treviso threw everything at us today and in the first half our scrum was under a little bit of pressure but we sorted that in the second half and we scrummed well.
Paddy Wallace scored a magnificent try around the 70 minute mark to put us right back into the mix and bring us from 23-13 down right up to 23-20 once Ruan added the conversion and thankfully there was enough time on the clock for Ian Whitten's score in the 82nd minute which Ruan converted from the touchline.
It was by no means a top class performance but we showed a lot of self belief to get the win and one we so badly needed to keep us in contention for a play-off spot in the PRO12. This win keeps our destiny, as far as a play-off spot is concerned, in our own hands. The competition is so tight. The Ospreys result at the RDS against Leinster last night really keeps them in contention and there's just a few points, if even separating us from Glasgow, Cardiff, and Scarlets. We all have everything still to play for so its going to be a very exciting run-in."

It's been nice today, nice weather. Paddy Wallace is aging like fine wine, sounds like he and Whitten got us out of jail over in Italy. Shame there's no video footage up yet.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Mexico City Rugby Cantina
bore da pawb/good morning all.
Only just got in from an amazing day/night, debating whether to get some sleep or to just stay awake now.
Is it today or tomorrow yet?
Also can't figure out if my phone has automatically updated itself with the hour going forward, so I don't even know for sure what the time was!
An amazing game at the CCS, Georgie's little cameo was brilliant, such a great game. Blues 14 - 26 Scarlets I believe the final score was. Amazing to see the Scarlets come over to the fans and applaud us at the end. Even losing Stevo before kick off couldn't stop us. I am a very VERY happy Scarlet today/tomorrow/yesterday (whatever it is).

Same as that dreamer. I'm getting my second wind. A strange night when I performed a concert with a visiting video artist in the early evening, went to a concert of viscerally loud Chinese sound art later and then spent several hours eating chilli and lime popcorn and debating technology and music with a load of progressively drunker postgraduate students.
Oh, yeah, and I forgot the best part; at the reception after the gig there was LOADS of free wine and food, and the food was unreal. Proper chorizo, meatballs, sausages, smoked salmon, the lot. We thought we had died and gone to student heaven.

I could litereally eat all of that right now. Forgot to stop off for chips #completeerror.
How'd the gig go? hope it was all good for you.
Just checked out the table in the Pro12, a bit gutted Munster won, otherwise there would have been 3 points between 2nd and 6th! Love this time of the season, even if it is quite stressful.
Scarlets fans are amazing. Didn't stop singing at all, went to Y Mochyn after the game, and they were stil singing strong at gone 12. What an amazing thing to be a part of. Proper special.

Anybody coming over for the Scarlets v Munster on 21/4? May be crucial for both teams seasons.

Bolloks did I trip out and lose another hour? Absolute nonsense.
I see Ulster have issued an apology over the tv fiasco yesterday. The beeb have complained to the League as well.
David Milliband is on Andrew Marr's show this morning giving off about this cash for access story. Wasn't there a similar story when labour were last in power? Something about cash for honours Davy? Police got involved and all didn't they?

Oooooooooo! I found some vintage 1980's Action Man gear in a skip, in miint condition and still shrink-wrapped on the original cards.
I've done a bit of research and it's worth about £900 so I'm going to ebay it at half-price...
But not until this afternoon as you always get the best prices for lots that end on a Sunday afternoon.

Well there is no skip closeby, so I have nothing to rummage through.
Maybe I should fire up the Playstation and play first person was games.
Nah, ... maybe...later.
Maybe something happens like you say.

Can't I usually ride motorcycle on sunday's, but once a month on a sunday it is family day, and this weekend is family day, but the wife had a little operation, so she's feeling sorry for herself.
So can't ride, may not invite friends over, watched the Hong Kong 7's saw how we lost to NZ in the Cup semi final, got angry and now just bored.

Waiting for the train to Reading. Hopefully not a repeat of last years Paddy's Day Party fiasco where the trains were cancelled due to a derailment.

Morning. Last year's Paddies Day game at the MadStad was a hoot Ozzy
At Hong Kong England play SA for 3rd place after being knocked out in the Cup semis by Fiji and NZ respectively. I think England will leapfrog SA for 3rd in the standings if we win.
Fiji & NZ are a long way out in front.

Fair play biltong.
In other news we have a spare ticket for the HC final - £65. North stand, so handy for the buses back to Richmond after the game.
