First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has teleported to Mexico City for the first qualifying match for RWC 2015. There's also TVs showing Aviva Premiership, Rabobank Pro 12 and Super XV action.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of the Grand Slam Winners or Dan Carter who returns to rugby this weekend.

Did anyone see the incident involving Ben Youngs on the weekend? I heard something about him punching someone repeatedly in front of the touch judge, who did nothing about it.

No but I saw Jim Hamilton get very lucky. Should have been red carded v Chiefs (who by the way are fast becoming the most likeable team in the league).

Annoyingly, I think the O's ahve the easiest run in. That win on the weekend might just secure the play off spot for them. If they'd lost they'd have been below all of Glasgow, Ulster and Scarlets. Merde.

Stag - Laugh I knew you were going to say that! Still the same side.

I've seen them given Billy so yeah it could have been yellow.

To be honest I don't like to see those tackles penalised. Big hits are part of the game. Just was asking out of interest because a win for Connacht would have been handy for Ulster.

Ulster are involved in a coaching progamme up here to try and improve the standard of some of the club coaches. Interesting to hear about some of the challenges facing the clubs coaches in terms of identifying talent.

No, that's the thing, Billy, I heard no action at all was taken against him. If he really was punching someone repeatedly - 'doing a Duncan McRae' - then he'll definitely be cited for it.

Thats the problem rodders, consistency from the refs, we have all seen them given but there was absolutely nothing wrong with the hit in my eyes. No penalty and no yellow card.

I've double checked Dreamer. Apologies 11 of them are no longer contracted to Scarlets. Only ones are your front row that day (Iestyn Thomas, Matthew Rees, Deacon Manu) along with Stevo. Stevo and Thomas will be gone soon.

Everyone else has left you.

There's no mention of it in the BBC's match report either, but there's this:

'Leicester will think themselves lucky to have finished the half with 15 men on the field after Youngs lost his head and threw a number of punches at number eight Jamie Gibson who was holding him down. Unbelievably the referee, informed by his assistant, deemed the offence only worthy of a penalty.'

Iestyn might be gone even sooner then we hoped, still no more news on his neck injury Sad

Ah sure, Stevo will be with us another season I reckon, really hope so anyways, same goes for Smiler. Wouldn't mind Deacs staying too now Rhys is so ill.

Although actually it makes sense we've got a whole new crop of players in. Nige has developed his own new squad completely, signs are looking that we might finally start to come good too. Hope so anyways. We're certainly trying our hardest for the play offs. In the last 3 games, of a possible 15 points, we've got all 15. Not bad going! Just we can't slip up now, not in any of our next 4 games in the league.

Oh they will, eh? I think we will beat Leinster, but Munster will surely have a score to settle. If we beat them in the quarter-final it'll be tough to replicate that result again.

Notch that word "if" is the reason Ulster are ready for knockout rugby. It was the same when we played Leinster in 2006 - however when we played them 2 years later - Leinster were sure they would win.

There was no "if" - sounds as though you are having doubts.

In all seriousness, no, I'm very confident we'll get the win. But we won't be able to perform as well in all our remaining games; it's us who will lose out in the league due to a focus on Europe I feel.

Does anyone know if O'connell and Murray will be back for the QF?

Personally I think TOL has been awful lately (worse than usual) and Munster will really struggle to function unless Murray returns.

I also think Ulster will dominate Munster at scrum time.

The trump card for Munster is O'Gara I think. Munster have a big advantage at 10 and if ROG controls the game then it will be difficult for Ulster.

Morning folks. The Youngs incident is being looked into by the citing bods. According to the DT, there was a 'knee drop' to the face of Jamie Gibson, followed by several punches. That's a 3-12 and 2-8 week ban respectively, but Youngs has a good disciplinary record.

One of Cockerill's comments was "everyone will make enough fuss of it, so we'll see what comes of it."

Talk about play the 'everyone hates us because we are Leicester' card.

That's a very bold statement pal. So you think the quarter finals are a foregone conclusion? I see our Pro12 game at the end in Thomond being our toughest including the HC game(s). By that stage Munster will be desperate to secure a home semi-final.

Anyone else think Irish rugby has fallen of the edge of the cliff?

I predict that the knock on effect of the disasterous 6N campaign will be that the Ospreys will win the Rabo, Saracens or Clermont will win the HEC and Ireland will be whitewashed in NZ.

On the plus side the AIL should be won by an Irish team.

Yeah Sri Lanka 192-7 after winning the toss and deciding to bat. Never know what's a good score until both teams have had their first innings, but most commentators were saying about 375 was par batting first. england's fielding has been excellent.

Actually Dreamer, paradoxically I feel its the opposite. Ulster will be the shining light, reaching the HEC final and losing narrowly to Clermont or Saracens, probably to a dodgy refereeing descision or something. Connacht too are showing the big boys how its done.

Leinster, Munster and the national team are in crisis I feel.

It's just, like, my opinion.
