Munster v Ulster
First topic message reminder :
Well what a difference a few days make. Leinster stroll past Munster in Thomond, Ulster cruise past Airioni and now definitely fancy their chances on Sunday and rightly so.
My Munster team if players available would be
1. Wian Du Preez
2. Mike Sheery
3. BJ
4. DOC1
5. POC
6. DR
7. POM
8. Coughlan
9. Murray
10. ROG
11. ZEBO
12. Maifi
13. Earls
14. Hurley
15. Jones
Pretty much picks itself bar hooker and back row. Line out was just so bad that Varley has to pay the price. May not have been all his fault but Sherry has been knocking on the door and deserves a shot at this level.
DOC2 had a solid game but I think the partnership of POC and DOC should stand us well. DR to the back row.
Rodders Ulster team
15 Terblanche
14 Trimble
13 Cave
12 Wallace
11 Gilroy
10 IHumph
9 Pienaar
8 Wannenburg
6 Diack
7 Henry
5 Touhy
4 Muller
3 Afoa
2 Best

Re: Munster v Ulster
I've never been so nervous and yet so excited about an Ulster game in a long long time. Didn't feel like this last year, just felt sick with nerves. Thank God I've got the Edinburgh game today to keep my mind off things! Cannot wait to see how the battles all shape up but I reckon the most important battle will be Murray vs Pienaar! WC winner versus Ireland's no 1. Youth vs experience.
Now I just need to find somewhere in Glasgow that's showing the Rugby instead of the wendyball!

I'd hope O'Neills had it on but there's a united match on and more than likely they'll have that on! Might just get sky player going and a few beers!

Give a phone call to them. The one in Merchants Square should be ok for it. Walkabout is another option.
Re: Munster v Ulster
Back in Clare today, saw the rugby in the RDS yesterday, going to the hurling in a few hours and off to Thomond
tomorrow. Nice weekend to visit the grandparents, can't wait for the game tomorrow just hope my Granddad doesn't
find my Ulster jersey and try to replace it with a red one again.

So, a game involving the 2nd and 3rd tier Irish provincial teams, is supposed to get us all excited? A team on their last legs v a team full of mercenary Saffers?
Cant wait. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
Edinburgh for de Heino.

Back from the game at Lansdowne DOD. Via a few pubs like.
Leinster are getting boring to watch now. Its getting far too easy.
Rob Kearney is a roide though. In all fairness.
Edinburgh were sublime. They defined what the HC is all about today.
And you know that well.

Good man Gibson, glad you enjoyed it...yes Leinster are setting the benchmark for all clubs in Europe...could be a tricky away SF though...

Cardiff were absolutely abysmal. I'm getting a bit nervous and excited. With Harrington still in the hunt (Ulster/McIlroy bottle it when it matters, maybe? ) it could be a great day for Irish sport, no matter who wins.

If Munster deserve it, they'll play with the resolve to win it. If Ulster deserve it, they'll do likewise.
I hope by the end we're all saying a very good weekend for the future of Irish rugby - regardless of the result; and for me that means both sides showing the ruthless will to win and backing that will up with power, precision and invention.

If Ulster come to limerick and win, then who could deny them their success. But as Donal Lenihan said yesterday playing Munster and beating them in the Pro12 is one thing, playing a full strength side in the HC is another.

True. I did say last weekend that judging either Munster or Leinster by that game would be very foolish. HC is the true prize so let's see Munster prove Lenihan right...at least in the intensity they bring.

Well I'll be supporting Ulster in this seeing that a number of my favourite south African players are playing in this match.
GO ULSTER, GO PIENAAR, GO MULLER, GO STEFAN, GO PEDRIE, GO ROBBIE.

Lucky that 5 is the limit on foreign players or we might have to class it as a full international Ireland v SA! To my Ulster friends...only toying with biltong...not a slight!!!

Yep, a few more Saffers, Paul Honiss and played at Landsdownroad and Munster might win, eh?

Stu Barnes, talks up Ulster again, t- minus 2hrs 30. I'm hoping some random assailant gets a crobar and knocks Ferris in the knee. It happened in The Simpsons before. (except it had the opposite effect in The Simpsons, they won the bowling Tournament with Mr.Burns)
- Spoiler:
- The episode was on TV the other day

You can tell that Ulster are South African as Biltong is taking a massive interest in this game and his interest in the other HC games was smaller!

Not really true mate, I watched the Leinster match, but couldn't watch the other one as there were Super XV matches on yesterday.

Re: Munster v Ulster
Leinster are my team, biltong. International side is central to me (grew up with the International game) and so look on all Provinces with an eye to uncovering next generation International players...plus seeing how the present Internationals are getting on.
Munster are/have been playing well within themselves in Pro12 this year in my opinion. They were very disappointed by last year's lack of involvement at the cutting edge of a competition they tend to regard as their bread and butter (HC)....and they are the only side that did 5 from 5 in the HC pools. I have a feeling they are holding things back for HC. Ulster are going the other way, improving all the while and probably less afraid to show it in all competitions.
It kind of really is too close to call it with any certainty...but if I had to call it, I'd give it to Munster. At home in a competition they are absolutely passionate about and having seen their great 'enemy' Leinster go through. The motivation certainly won't be missing.

Re: Munster v Ulster
Seriously I'm bricking it, with the whole Ferris injury scandal (I'm starting to think it was horsedung) it took the spotlight completely off Ulster and it probably suits them better. It will be a great game and whoever wins will be backed to the hilt by me and every Irishman on the board. Also good luck to Leinster.
Also are Munster a bit like the Kerry GAA team? Everyone has been saying they're on their last legs for a good 5 years but they just keep surprising everyone.
Last call for those who need links, I'm in sunny West Cork so have limited computer time and I'm heading out to see the game.

Re: Munster v Ulster
This is going to be an incredibly tough match. My heart says Munster but my head is saying Ulster. Ever since Rava told me a week before the Leicester match that Ulster would get the TBP i have been wary of them. They are certainly playing some cracking rugby but they are coming up against one of the best spoiling teams in rugby.
Too close to call for me.

Here in West Cork we'll probably get it on a 12 inch screen in Black and white.
It will be in HD though. My links are top notch Biltong, a fair few are HD and the others are top quality even after you hook up the laptop to the tv. Save the links Fly, they will do for the future.
