Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Not seen strettle create much at all. He chases kicks well although he does fly out the line a lot.
Jsd plays a different game and his assist tally would be high. You don't see strettle playing 2nd receiver for
Example. Think the problem with the
England backline is a void of creativity. I agree with you that Farrell kicks to much. Sarries will never do anything in Europe playing like that.

There isn't an english winger playing really well. They are either playing well and not scoring or just not scoring at all.

2 in Prem sorry.
Agree there Steve. Wonder if Wade is worth a punt, big question marks against him but he's electric and seems solid in defence. May has to tour.
Checked recent stats and Farrell kicks pretty 50% of time, seriously too much.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Strettle used to be a great attacking winger, then he got injured in the game versus Wales after making 4-5 breaks during the game - was electric. Since going to Sarries his whole game has turned into defence, would say he's easily best defensive wing in England, pretty high up in Europe too. Personally think he's lost his attacking spark.
Farrell definitely kicks too much, hopefully this is down to his inexperience or that he's being told to do so by management.
Whenever I have seen Sarries play attacking stuff it has always been down to Brits, who is easily one of the best runners in the AP - trouble I think Sarries have is that they don't have out and out speed in the back three - hasn't Margeret Wells (speed coach) been coaching Mike Brown? I'd seriously get her to train Goode, as if he had a bit more speed he'd be a great no15.

Goodes lack of pace was never seen as an issue because he was going to end up a ten. Now that ship has sailed he needs to work on it.
Full back is one of the key attacking positions look at dagg, beale halfpenny foden etc all have pace to burn

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
It was a shame that Goode never made it as a 10, had all the traits to be a good one, think pace is becoming more and more important for players now.
Am amazed at how quick Brown has got - always saw him as slow but now he's rapid!
Pooly I think you could be right about Wade - I know I have Wasps bias but before his injury he was the best wing in the AP, scoring some cracking tries - watched him at Adams Park this weekend and was very impressed at how he nearly always gets over the gainline.

Quick question - with the new squad sizes for next season will there still be 5 injuries in the way now, or will the injuries be for shorter periods?

Doesn't need one when Preistland kicks away over 60% of the ball

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Fairly sure that says that Preistland does 60% of Wales kicking.
And the stats will be innaccurate as it appears to be suggesting that the Centres and Wingers don't kick. My guess is it means that out of Phillips, Rhys and 1/2p Preistland did 60 percent of the kicking.

It means that on 60% of the occasions that Priestland got his hands on the ball he kicked it, not that he does 60% of Wales kicking.

Pete - if you add up all the columns then each adds up to 100, so would imagine that its as Steve suggested there.
Who is going to win the HC then? Reckon Ulster would be a good bet.

You sure? Why do all the 9, 10 and 15 percentages add up to 100% then?
That implies that 14% of the ball that Phillips got he kicked, and 20% of the ball Halfpenny he kicked and then 66% Preistland got he kicked? Seems a bit neat that every combo adds up to 100%

Got to be the percentage of ball which he kicked away when you add the ball that he, phillips and halfpenny kicked. And likewise for other sides.

Then there is no way they can be correct, as that would mean that nobody with 11,12,13 or 14 could have kicked the ball which is nonsense.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
it might work for Wales as I dont think I have ever seen North, Cuthburt or Roberts kick a ball...
must just be the percentage of kicks between the 9, 10 and 15 that were kicked, ignoring all other kicks. Bit of an odd one.
be interesting to see how close to 100% Dan Lydiate got to making every single one of Wales' tackles during the 6Nations. tackling machine!

Pretty sure that England kicked away most ball from 10 position during 6N and that was around 50%. No way a scrum half kicked away 34% of possession

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Wow some line up of
Games this week on here.
Lucky it's only light rain so some rugby can be played.
Can't work out whether to play goosen or
Barnes at 10. Goosen in such form banging kicks
From all over and launching the backline
Whereas Barnes is playing really well but
Slightly more conservative and obviously not as long a kicker.
What would you guys go for ??
In the light rain you have to try and play rugby for me.
Personally I will
Probably play both and allow them to interchange at 10
And 12 as I like
2 kicking/distribution options

Not like you to ask for advice Matt.
Goosen has played a lot better than Barnes has at 10 this season, he's been very good. Barnes is having a pretty poor season in all honesty, always looks a different player in Gold for me with quality runners off him.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
light rain makes for really good running rugby conditions - with a lot of dry weather recently the pitches will be perfect.
think you'd be right to go with a 10-12 combination like you've suggested - as long as you have a strong runner at 13, or someone powerful in the backthree.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Back to the drawing board for Wasps - reckon we've got some serious problems again - they released this statement this afternoon. Current owner arreseted, no investors...sigh.
The board of London Wasps Holdings Limited can today provide the following update on the on-going Club sale process.
Following the decision by Wycombe District Council last July to withdraw its support for a new Sporting Village and Stadium for London Wasps, the Club has been searching for new investment and subsequently new owners.
The board is disappointed to confirm that negotiations, which had been leading towards an imminent takeover of the Club, have stalled.
The board, having taken independent advice, is able to confirm that London Wasps Holdings Limited remains nevertheless a going concern.
However, the board acknowledges the urgency of the current situation surrounding the Club.
There are on-going active discussions with other potential investors but the Club is seeking, using all best endeavours, further expressions of interest.
London Wasps Chairman Mark Rigby said: “London Wasps has a long and successful history, and is one of the best known brands in the game, and the board is convinced that the right backer exists. With a great squad in place and the excellent Dai Young at the helm, we believe we are set to make a strong impact next season. Time is however short and we urgently need a new investor or consortium to back this belief.”

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
It blooming worrying, the current owner has pretty much ruined us - taking us to Wycombe where we don't own a ground, don't have a fan base etc. All he cares about is the football team and looks like he might be bound for prison soon too!
Just hope we can find a backer - shouldnt be any reason why we can't be as successful as Quins or Sarries. Unless we go out of business...
