League table updated. Still everything to play for. Nobody yet guaranteed a home semi final, still down to 7th place can make the play offs and down to 9th can still make the Heineken spots. The Chiefs can also still save themselves with a couple of wins in the last two games.
I think this is definitely the tightest the league has been.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
if only i didnt have such a crap start to the season!
what would everyone have as my best back row combination? For me it's definitely 6. Lydiate 7. not sure 8. Parisse and then Messam on the bench for impact.
Got the options of Lapandry, Cane, Gill, Abbott.

I think you had a real tough 1st half with the fixtures Chris, you were always going to start shooting up as you seem to playing the tougher sides at home lately.
Messem no 7, good 6 though. Lapandry the best option there imo, good engine and linking man/lineout although not great on deck.

A top 7 (Established Int) and you'd have a very very good backrow by the way. Sides are really close at the minute.

cheers Pooly - trouble is most int 7's have been taken already - i've been really impressed with Gill in his last few games, he's the sort of deck player i want, but think Cane could also come through this season!
just need to work out whether i should concentrate on improving front row or getting a no7!
looking forward to the saints v tigers match - wonder what incident will happen this time - we've had the tuilagi punch, the mass brawl where a ball boy was almost crushed and the arm break. can't help feel that the two clubs dont like each other...

Could improve at hooker and for me could improve on Spies. Is a strong carrier but doesn't provide much else. Have to be honest and say I was a little bit surprised to nick the win this week, thought I'd get a LBP at best.

nick i think its getting a WC second rower is what you need as you've got a great front row, and great backrow - just one really top rate lock and it will transform your pack!

I really like your side Nick.
Disagree with Pete a little, think Hore is an outstanding hooker but doesn't seem to get rated that highly. I like Spies at 8 too.
Possibly lock (depends on opposition), 10 and wing would be my concerns.

I rate Hore as well Pooly, but wouldn't have him in that top 5 in the world category, so it could be an area for improvement.

Yea I'd agree probably not top 5 but tough to get top 5 in every position when there's 12 teams lol
I'd have him in England side without hesitation, possibly make a Lions tour too. Big fan of Hore, great basics and excellent around the breakdown.

He's a nuisance at the breakdown and has been a big factor in the Highlanders going so well so far this season. Not got long left in him I don't reckon, but he's definitely a handy player.

what the hell is going on at the Shed - come on Gloucester!
should be a good game with wasps now - think we might edge the pack, but have no go forward in the midfield compared to quins.
glad evans isnt playing as clegg hasnt been kicking well

qera - about bleeding time - now just need burns to get the conversion!
was a really odd game pooly - saints looked good first 15mins or so and then flood got a really lucky try from a charge down kick and two mins after they got another.
saints didnt seem like they had the fitness or aggression to compete, agulla was best player on the pitch - ashton got a nice try at the end.
looking forward to this game now - Davies at no9 looked good when i watched him against Biarittz, very physical player.
the battle from the 13 channel out is going to be brilliant - Daly v Lowe should be great to watch

knew quins would hammer us with their ball carriers - we just dont have any on the pitch at all. cant get over the gainline, so important in the game now.
injuries have really ballsed us over this year - never known anything like it.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
refs are so infuriating in rugby at the moment - quins have been dominant, but when Wasps break and quins players just flop on the ball and stop an easy try I don't get why there isnt a straight yellow.
wasps have made 4 times as many tackles, hardly infringed but get a yellowcard on the 22metre line.
quins just infringe and infringe - was like tigers today, they get away with it as they are the better team, just annoys me. That's five pens they've given away since 78th minute. That's now 6...no yellow.
gainline breakers are so important. where wasps have struggled all season!

Glos so bad today. Just met Buxton for a half and said half team will not play for brush.
Said morale lowest in time there.
Today glos walked to every lineout and scrum. I knew murphy would get served by Murray but rest of performance awful. We deserved to lose by more yet should have won but for touch judge
Missing loads even though level with me.
Brown a spent force and wood missed so much. Tindall and efs so bad they are leaving so why play them. Ref great touch judge poor
.
Falcons 7 excellent and gopperth man of match.
Don't think I am being untrue If I say worst performance in ten years. Dawiduik, stroks and a few others have told brush he is incompetent so he will not pick them
. Ruining our Europe chances

I sense similar issues between players and Booth at Irish Mat, wouldn't be surprised to see him go at the end of the season.
A few weeks back Glaws looked like they were starting to find some form adn I thought they could sneak in the play offs.

I was in gold seats next to bench due to dad being disabled and 2 players shouted at brush " disgrace" and a hole.
Can't stay. It's been known for a while he had big fall out with dawiduik and stroks months ago. We miss them massively

how adrian jarvis and thorpe are professionals is beyond me
jarvis kicked everything away, when he does pass it, we look dangerous. a backline with ansbro, jj, tagi and delon needs the ball to run with.
corbs gave stevens a bit of going over at scrum time but sarrries dominated lineout.
booth and catt need to go sooner rather than later

Glaws will accept you Chris !!!
To be fair pete my dog would give Stevens a going over. I think corbs is developing well. He had an awkward time vs mas in 6n but did not get trashed which is an achievement. Also playing alongside hartley and cole helps.
Corbs needs his tight head to lead hit as he is an aggressive scrummager. He does not work with rautembach who absorbs rather than hit.
Corbs impresses me more every game he is a quick learner.
Watching glos today reminds you how much a good loosehead is missed. No wood equals no scrum and his work rate so missed.
How robson not in England squad amazing
Hope Hudson is joining glos if falcons fail. Worry for wasps for me they will go down as have no form. Gold is a top coach and it shows

Pooly further evidence of impact sub
"However, the Cheetah then clicked into gear after the break as Ashley Johnson demonstrated his uncanny ability to make an impact. The soon-to-be Wasps flanker swooped on a Tawera Kerr-Barlow pass to intercept before racing half of the field for a try that looked to have turned the game."
Goosen 14 points in 20 minutes.will challenge Steyn for 10 against England

agree with you Mat about Wasps - think we are in a lot of trouble, luckily I cant see Newcastle winning against Sarries and I think Wasps could beat Bath, as they are really bad, just need good weather for next week!
we're making chances but just dont have the players to make the hard yards - we rely on Wade to get us over the gainline, our midfield lacks powerful runners and i dont think Robinson is the best no10 around.

Best ever?? Not for me. I'd say he is behind Smit and Mealamu in this generation alone. Great player but not in amongst the best ever for me.
How good was Carl Fearns on Friday night!! I think he gets into England's back row if he gets a good run and is in good form. He really wanted to prove a point. Commentators said he left Sale on bad terms which i didn't know. Might be because all Sale did was say goodbye to Hodgson and not even acknowledge anyone else on the last home game of last season.

Newcastle's 7 today was Will Welch , The boy played a blinder for the 60 or so minutes he was on the pitch. Real presense at the break down , i'd expect Mark Wilson to be picked up from Falcons by another AP side , been our best player this season.
