Can Wasps realistically compete in the Heino and AP next season? I doubt that very much. Surely concentrating on rebuilding the foundations and using the AP as a springboard to the following seasons Heineken Cup is a better aim?

Yeahhh was expected all weekend. Interesting move for him. Reds wouldn't give him the money he wanted is what I read.

Kearney is probably the form 15 in the world at the moment Matt. Has been very good for the last 6 months.

Leinster so well coached. A great team in that they are individually not as good as clermont on paper but they play as a team

I thought Cullen was good also. Heaslip was very good at the lineout. Was it SOB with the penalty in the last minute? Couldn't see who it was.

Me neither Steve but fantastic effort there at the end. Reading back on the thread agree with you on Kearney. Has been immense since the world cup. D'Arcy wasnt fantastic and was probably the only weak link really today. Everyone put a shift in at times though

cullen arguably could of got sent off
although the prop made a huge meal of it, he still struck his face
if that was delon armitage who did it and not cullen, there would be outrage!

The phasing in of McFadden of first choice 12 should begin soon. Darcy is slowing down a little and Mcfadden seems ready to me.
Cullen should have been shown a yellow for me. For me it has to be repeated strikes or from behind etc for it to be a red. Faure shouldn't have gone down like he did though.

Have to say I thought Barnes had an awful game today though. Clermont were right to be aggrieved.

I think Drico will move in to 12 for next season with O'Mally playing a lot more at 13.

A Fofana bicep away from a win - can't believe how good that Leinster defence is.
Steven have to agree with you about Barnes, thought that was his worst game in a long time - he bottled it with Leinster so many times, they could have had 3-4 yellow cards easily, right at the end when they were camped out on the Leinster line there were so many infringements and a yellow card could have made the difference.
Leinster are an amazing team, but will certainly be cheering for Ulster!

interesting call with Rebels and Cipriani - he'd started very well this year and was looking good.
i've got tickets for the final - annoyingly might be having to travel for work around that time, but wont find out for a few days before - definitely supporting Ulster, really not a fan of Leinster (you probably would have never guessed that)

Qera i am not surprised at has been immense for gloucester and done all our hard yards. Work rate superb.
Think Burger would have had it if he had stayed fit. Toss up between salvi and qera but qera played full season

Lowe a strange one as missed lot of season. Been very good since back though and should tour with England

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
i'd have Wade in the back three, no question, he missed 2 months of the season, but playing in the team he has done and scoring all those tries is an achievement. havent seen a winger like him in a long time, each time he gets the ball their is an expectation in the crowd he will beat 3-4 defenders, score a try or do something magic.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Scaysbrook and Salvi ahead of Qera for me.
Wade has been very good and you cant argue with his try scoring record.
Simirlarly for us Tagicakibau has been immense last few months, scored fair few tries and his stats are incredible.
Would have Pisi are fair way ahead of Lowe, swear Hopper played more games than Lowe due to injury?

One player that has really impressed me this season was Skivington after xmas time - think he's been very good for Tigers, always thought highly of him though.

Such a good signing for Irish is Skivington. will do our pack the world of good.
Him and Parling has been a great combo for Tigers, wonder if they will regret letting him go now.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
they should be - he was the best forward Wasps had and it took him a while to settle in at Tigers but he's been brilliant from January onwards - I guess Tigers will try and bring through players like Slater, Kitchener now, they've also got a very good young lock in the Eng u20s who looks pretty good, but wont get any game time for 2-3 seasons, similar to Calum Green who looked the business a few years back.

I don't think Tigers will regret letting him go, they have loads of locks, and Kitchener has come on well second half of the season for them also.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Skivs is a good lock but was possibly 5/6 choice at Tigers when everyone is fit. Slater was immense first half of season then Kitchener the second. Serious lock talent at Leicester.
Some odd calls in that team, Qera & Lowe the oddest.

5th or 6 choice? You joking?
Behind Deacon and Parling yes but way ahead of Slater and Kitchener.

Interesting that Lowe has played more game than Pisi, Joseph, Trinder and Hopper (twice as many AP games).

Parling
Deacon
Skivington
Mafi
Kitchener/Slater
I would say is the current pecking order at Tigers. Think long term Slater may well end up in the back row.

I'd personally have Mafi, Parling, Deacon, Kitch, Slater ahead of Skivington. Don't think Skivington is anything special myself, not physical enough for an out and out 4 and not good enough in lineout for 5.

I think if you asked most Leicester fans, based on the second half of this season they would very much disagree with you on that one Pooly.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Come on pooly Skiv is a good player and way higher in that list.
I have found out one piece of good news today and that is we are not paying jimmy cowan much money. Originally he was touted as our big money signing and I thought he would be occupying a large part of our salary cap.
Turns out we are not paying him that much ie we are paying his worth. Still think that will be too much for what for me is an average player.
His experience should hopefully help our young uns though

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Skivs was absolutely awesome at Wasps - think he was a little overwhelmed at Tigers when he first joined as wasnt expecting to lead lineout and be most experienced lock, but injuries and international call ups put him there. He really struggled for first 3months of the season, but then has been really impressive since - think he's been instrumental in Tigers form since then.
Gloucester have made some good signings, but why on earth arent they getting more forwards? They;ve got a great backline - Mat, where do you think they are aiming to play May and Twelvetrees next season? With EFS and Tindall leaving do you expect them to go straight in?

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
He is about same level as lawson and is costing us roughly 20k more a year and is available all the time. To be fair cannot have been many in for him.
As long as he is not over here to coast for his pension then he will do.would have preferred a claasens type more dynamic sh but Gloucester are beggars and they can't be choosers

"He is about same level as lawson"
Thats pretty funny, he's much better than Lawson. Lawson is steady but offers little around the fringes. I imagine Cowan will really add to your attack.

He is about the same level as lawson. Lawson has much better service and defence Cowan better around fringes and better kicking. To be fair both are good kickers.
Both internationals. To be fair the jock scrum half position is actually harder to win than the ab one currently. Can't say that for any other position lol

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Gloucester have gotten rid of all of their scottish contingent you will notice due to them not being available as much.
We have only kept Hamilton in what is a deliberate club strategy
To not have many players involved in 6n. With Saxons etc we could barely field a side last year.

Cowan a good deal stronger than Lawson but I have him a decent on the fringes but weaker at game management etc so the other way round from Pooly.
