Fights that never happened
First topic message reminder :
That should have happened.
The obvious one is the Manny/Floyd issue. But this is not about them and that fight will probably happen. Its not a thread about them either.
In short, which fights that didn't happen but should have happened.
Frazier/Norton is one that comes to mind. (Frazier via KO)
The Hagler/SRL rematch (Hagler by KO)
Any others? And who would have won.

Re: Fights that never happened
Leonard was 6-1 Sam.......Not fought for three years and was a blown up welter.....
You come on....
Mugabi was a 154 pounder.....
I bet you never gave Leonard a chance..

I thought you were an old man judging by your posts Mate...no offence.
I'm obviously older and less mature.

Re: Fights that never happened
Leonard/Hagler has to go down as the worst megafight in history though surely
Such high expectations after the Hearns encounters

No offense taken. I'm getting married this year; probably turning me into an old man before my time!

Good luck Sammy.........You'll probably need it.
Not a red head like mine I hope....No such thing as a non-fiery redhead.

Re: Fights that never happened
I liked Curry. But his prime was more of a blink than a period in time. After McCrory and Starling he was run over by Honey. Yes he won the 154lb title by beating the great Rossi (so pupular only his mother knows him). Didn't Curry lose to Rene Jaquot (spelling). Lose to McCallum, lose to Nunn, lose to so Norris. And you are saying that this guy would compete with Marvin?
Give me strength. Curry was a clas soperator. As Monica Lewinsky would say, Good, but no cigar.

Re: Fights that never happened
On the one hand you say he was class unlike Mugabi and then on the otherhand you trash him....
Mugabi competed with Hagler.....and a three year ring rusty Leonard..
So yes I do....We are talking prime Curry and past it Marvin you know.

Don't make me copy and paste my old "When Honey was too sweet for Curry" article again, Truss.
He'd beat Marvellous Marvin Hagler....you losing your MIND?

No It's a valid argument.......
The world's no p4per against a guy that lost to a 3 year layoff on the slide welter in Leonard..

Re: Fights that never happened
Well, seeing as you recently argued that a "L" decision can be a de -facto "W" if the majority of punters agree on it, we can count the Hagler Leonard fight a definite Win for Hagler.

Fights I would have liked to have seen:
Holmes v Foreman
Hide v Maccarinelli (hugely entertaining I reckon - someone would have been KTFO!)
Lewis v Bowe obviously
Eubank v Toney
RJJ v Michalzewski
Hamed v Morales
V Klitschko v Lewis 2 (so there could have been no doubt either way)
Lewis v W Klitschko (wouldn't last long IMO)
Ibeabuchi v Holyfield in 1998/9
Briggs v Golota (don't know why, just think it would have a been a good old-fashioned punch up!)
Calzaghe v Ottke somewhere other than Germany or Wales
