Lol worth testing the water
Whats your plans with him? Suprised you haven't had a few sneaky offers.
Good short term option for someone looking for a 12...little use to you in the long run, with the cover at 12 you have...
What did you have in mind for Crane?

Not sure mate, really want to keep him but also want to improve my starting locks.
Would need to be a lock who if foreign would be a significant improvement for me.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
Always hard dealing on potential as we've found in the past, but I genuinely couldn't give much more than a straight swap. Kitchener is EQ, young and a Lancaster favourite, who if he gets a good start to the season at Tigers could well feature in the AI's as Lancaster rates him highly. POC has been truly world class in the past, but not for a couple of years and has been injured more than he's played in the last two seasons. He is nearly 33 and there are no guarantees that he will be world class again.
It's a gamble both ways, but I can understand why you wouldn't want to do it.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
yeah i can see the lineout getting picked up on quite a bit - so am looking at different ways around that, like getting back three to run the ball quick, using lineout to get a drive on instead of quick ball all the time - then use my centres to get over the gainline.
hoping my scrum is going to be a lot stronger this year, but have been very lucky that some of the youngsters I got have come through so quickly - just really need Lawes to come back strong (and start carrying more!).

Difficult to rate what I'd want for him. Starts games in the S15 so not a maybe, he's the real deal.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
Trying to get as many players a game at this stage - Cencus, Hargreaves, Scaysbrook, Crane, Clegg and Poitrenaud likely to start.
Probs first teamers around them.
Looking at your squad right now, personally i'd be looking at this as your strongest side:
1. Soane Tonga'uiha
2. Rory Best
3. Owen Franks
4. Brad Thorn
5. Geoff Parling
6. Chris Robshaw
7. Richie McCaw (c)
8. Keiran Reid
09. Ben Youngs
10. Aaron Cruden
11. James O'Connor
12. Sonny Bill Williams
13. George Lowe
14. Tommy Bowe
15. Alex Goode
16. Alex Waller
17. Lee Mears
18. Paul Doran-Jones
19. Paul O'Connell
20. Heinrich Brussow
21. Jimmy Cowan
22. Toby Flood
23. Miles Benjamin
Can't remember playing my strongest side much last season though...

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
Would be my first choice back row, not sure how often I will get to play it though, depends on which EQ options in my squad are playing well really.
Despite losing all my games so far this summer tournament has been of real benefit for me, have a much better idea of what combos of mine people see as good ones.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
Just seen your comment on the homepage.
Had a look at both our squads and figured I need a WC 12, and you could do with the best fullback on the planet.
So i'll make the offer...know you have a man crush on the kid but he's way too young for you.
Beale for JOC

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
Sharples would need England level player back. I would not take Parling so it leaves robshaw which would not happen. Can't see anything really

Sgt_Pooly wrote:Rate both Parling & Robshaw well above tbh so agree would struggle
Agree re robshaw. Worth more than sharples currently. For me parling would not be in England side unless he played for Leicester. Can't work out how he contributes. Borthwick all
Over again.
To be fair lawes, attwood etc mean we will get a good engine room soon, botha and Parling probably our weakest pair in my lifetime.
Same for a few positions we are in a real transitional period

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
If he was at falcons he would not be England for me. 2nd row weak for England at momEnt. Agree that May better than sharples. Both good players. May has x factor and is nails in the tackle.
Of your English it's only robshaw who I would ever have any interest in so we will never find a deal.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
Yes i had read that. He was thought of being in the position to break through, I prefer him at 12 or 13 to 10.
Cracking player. A great distributor and has wheels. He is also pretty damn solid in the tackle which is usually the hardest thing to get right

We produce backs like nowhere else. We have a few forwards coming through.
Check out Elliot Stookes and George Evans, both look good.
Stookes is the big hope. can't stop reading about him local press and on glos sites. Local lad as well
