The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Edinburgh
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Edinburgh, as the team has made their first ever Heineken Cup Semi Final.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Martyn Williams, Shane Williams, Paddy Jackson, Paul O'Connell and Tim Visser.

KiaRose wrote:Hi All
Just a very brief note - have returned from wild and wolly south west Ireland. Wonderful timne, superb weather ... well until it turned really elemental last week.
As I am about to go to wild and woolly north Wales for eight days and will miss next weekend's HC semis my wish for the supporters is that their teams play as well as they can. If that happens then we can all safely say that the better team won each of the games. Undoubtedly some of you will be disappointed (as I was on Easter Sunday, especially when I returned to pick up my puppy and was told she had eaten a bird off of my cousin's bird feeding table!). However, if your team really do play as well as they can - you can, in true rugby fashion, say well done to the opposition and then decide who to support n the final.
I shall miss the final as well as I will be visiting daughter that weekend. So my absence is not just because Munster have no further interest in the HEC - simply a busy life.
Kiarose. I'm so in love with you.
But I have serious issues with you as a prospective Oma. I want to be an Opa! Phhokin now.
Enjoy the joy, mo chara. You know.

Not sure about the Shaag, but it is quite common practice for Sa sportsmen to have a little session before matches, the SA cricket team with Jonty Rhodes and his era were famous for it.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Edinburgh
It is going well, we got rid of the two loafers, so it is back to two acoustics, we have coompleted our "homework" on our thirty songs and are in full swing practicing twice a week.
In a week's time I will be playing the guitar for a full year now and the next step is to get some training for for specific songs I want to learn how to pick.
Desperado, Mad World and Imagine are the ones I want to do complete solo's on and picking seems to be the way to go, it is quite difficult for a rookie though.
We went for some singing lessons which also helped quite a bit. so far we are on track to entertain our mates and families by year end.

Bore da pawb / good morning all, I'll have a if I may.
One of the headlines on BBC Breakfast this morning was that David Cameron and George Osborne have been accused of being out of touch for the second day in a row. Well no, they haven't. They've been accused for the second day in a row of being out of touch. The length of time they've been out of touch is open to debate.

Out of touch with who? I don't know anybody who isn't out of touch with somebody. I prefer honesty - you don't vote for me and are never going to so I won't pretend to understand you. Fine. It's like Hoog and the Scarlets.

Altough I enjoy some Jazz I have never really gotten into it big time, strange though as I like anything with a bit a soul and a bit a slow rythm.

Something to feel good about Gibbo,
The last time Leinster lost a game in Europe was in April 2010.
Although that game was also away in France we’ve come a LONG way since then.
We had no SOB, no Fitzgerald, no Isaac Boss, no Sexton, no Madigan, no McFadden, no Cronin, no Thorn, no Toner…
Here’s the team from that day…
Healy – Fogorty – Wright
Hines – Cullen
McLaughlin – Heaslip – Jennings
Reddan – Berne (remember him!)
Nacewa – Darcy – BOD – Horgan
Kearney
Jackman – CJ VDL – Ross – Mal O’Kelly – Stephen Keogh – POD – Eoin O’Malley – Dempsey
We’re a better team now. a FAR better team.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Edinburgh
The problem with the saxophone is that it's been used (or abused) on so many terrible, terrible records. They don't know what to do, so they throw in a feeble saxophone solo. But then, plenty of records have godawful guitar solos on them, but that doesn't make the guitar a bad instrument. In the right hands, the saxophone's great. Sonny Rollins, for one example.

He's storting to believe again.
We will hand them their French orses. Our time is now. Huge game. No other team could even dream of beating them away (havent lost at home in 42 games). But they are not at home. Capiche?
We dont need to dream anymore. ASM and then Edinburgh. Phhokin breeze man. We are the best team in the World. Phhok Yurop.
Kills me not to be there to see it. But Koninginnedag and family beckons. It's like not Paddys Day, its far more fun. You and yer missus would love it.

Still, we were missing O’Driscoll and Fitzgerald for that game, and Heaslip was gone after 20 mins.
