The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Edinburgh
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Edinburgh, as the team has made their first ever Heineken Cup Semi Final.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Martyn Williams, Shane Williams, Paddy Jackson, Paul O'Connell and Tim Visser.

You should come here dreamer... or better still, North Queensland. Half of your yearly rain in a few days.
Also. I'll never forget Saigon... the rain can 'bounce' 1-2m off the ground. Weird phenomenon! It's like a white zone of water

That is a bit weird!
Strangest rain I've ever come across was in Florida. It was warm. Just a really weird feeling as usually I hate being caught in the rain, but this stuff was actually quite pleasent.

My weirdest "rain" experience was in Zaire. We were there at the end of the dry season so we hadn't seen rain for about 8 weeks.
Then it rained!
We just stood outside looking at it! Two Irish folk staring at rain like they didn't know what it was!!!

These had been honey roasted, Asbo. Bloomin' gorgeous - and I've been missing out on them because I didn't like them when I was younger!
Rev, how come Jason Tovey's playing for Cross Keys on Friday? Is Steffan Jones injured?

I remember by mum telling me that when it eventually rained in the summer of '76 after weeks without it, everyone in the street came out to stand out in it.

Hughie, have I told you about my dad’s retirement party. It’s on the 18th so I can’t fly into London until Saturday morning. Which is… not a “problem” I suppose. but it’s cutting things tight.

Mickado, depends to where you are flying. If its Heathrow then not really a problem I wouldn't think.
Hoog, £135 for the Saturday night at Putney.

Ah yeah, sure all I need is a flight. But If I’m staying the night (which is what I would plan to do) then I’ll have to get to Hughies first. Like I said, it’s not a showstopper but it isn’t ideal.

Its a means to an end Gibbo. I want Haranhan into the Munster team. Could be the next Ian Madigan.

If your season hinged on winning it like the once proud Province of Munster's season does, you'd really take an interest in it too. All Crosskeys supporters and players just see it as another trip on the lash.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Edinburgh
Really disappointed JJ is not involved he is a legitimate talent. Dineen looked solid when he came on but disappointing.
Rodders, I stayed in the Jury's Inn in Chelsea when I went over last October. Round £250 for 3 for 2 nights, and there was a game on that weekend too.
Right next to a Bus and Overground Station, if you get a day pass, the Tube can be used with it and if yuo get the Bus (can't remember the number) you will get to a tube station nearby. You get a tube to Richmond (Green line, which I think is district) and it's a mile from Twickers.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Edinburgh
dreamer,
Sorry to keep bringing Queensland into it but there was a horrible story of a giant spider (golden orb... we get the smaller ones here) eating a brown snake which got caught in it's web. Truly horrific stuff... but not for the spider obviously.
So don't watch this.... http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8454494/giant-queensland-spider-devours-snake

And the occasional bird too.
Those webs are so strong it would be hard to kick a football through. I've walked into a few over the years.... some are like fishing wire - you sort of bounce back from them and they don't break....much.
