The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Cross Keys
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Cross Keys, as their team is in the British and Irish Cup Final.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Richie McCaw, George Smith, Robert Nash,Billy Holland, John Muller, Greg Laidlaw, Aurelien Rougerie, Leo Cullen, Rhys Thomas and Iestyn Thomas.

The most important thing is that they're there and representing Ulster, and you'll be there and representing mini-P.
Sorted.
I love you PJ. The painting is fantastic. You are so talented. As well as being a total Baff roide.

Well you're very welcome and to be fair, Barf have been ridden all season so I may as well take one for the team.
I'm backing a province for the heino this year, no doubt.
Hey, maybe I'll paint you one of Muller lifting the cup.....

Ulster could so easily lift that Cup. No doubt about it. We will have to play better again than today - if we are to beat them. They have that very same self-belief. And brilliant players. And they know us inside-out. Hope they are full-strength.
A HC Final deserves it.

PJ Cowboy maybe, Belfast not!
Could be Ulster's year alright. Just now I'm happy to be there. After soaking up the atmosphere last year at the final I can't wait. Win or lose I intend to fully enjoy myself.
What chance you can down to London yourself? Would be brilliant to have that whiskey with you.

I'm a maybe Rava, I won't be getting tickets that's a cert , but if there's a chance for a meet and whiskey tasting, well, it would be rude not to.
Maybe we could toast Ulster's finest in a 21 year old?
Errrr, whiskey that is.

Morning all,
Phew, what a weekend. Some strange emotions during our game in Dublin. Magnificent atmosphere in the ground. The Aviva was rocking at times.

Bore da pawb / good morning all, brighter this morning but it's still not very feckin' warm!
I really enjoyed the Higginson - Jones match over the weekend. Jamie Jones is a tidy little snooker player.

Morning folks. Lucky, its sunny and farly warm here. Not due to last though.
After the weekend just gone I'm not looking forward to this weekend, one of Wasps or Falcons to face the drop. Never been in this situation before.
Thankfully most of you won't have to ever have to endure this.

Hound we have never faced true demotion but we have had seasons in which Connacht could have taken our HEC spot which would have felt a bit like the same thing.
Not nice I know.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Cross Keys
I actually didn't lose my voice which is a huge surprise.
I am usually fairly aware of when I am damaging it as I shout and it didn't feel that way even though I was cheering, shouting and singing an awful lot!
I did enjoy it hugely. Was great to have all the kids there with us. And despite all the stuff that we had to do before we could leave our arrangements for getting to the match could not have gone more smoothly, thanks in no small part to excellent advice from Rava!
Just a fantastic family day.

I do feel quite a bit of good will towards Ulster, although not quite to the same degree as Glas perhaps! But you know there are some sides you want to see do well, and Ulster are one of those for me. It would be great if they could win the Heino and they have the players to do it.

Thanks Lucky!
Nice to have a few positive words about Ulster from a neutral.
I am just so pleased that Brian McLoughlin's last game in charge is a HEC Final.
What a way to go!

I chatted to a few Ulster fans when you played the Dragons in the last game of last season (I think you needed to win the reach the play-offs), they were a good bunch.

I think we might have to be content with the HEC this year Rodders. Let the other teams scrabble over that one!
Might look a bit greedy to take that one too, no?

Ha ha forget it Mrs P I want the double!
Yeah very disappointed to see quite a few fans not observe silence for the place kicks, there were a lot sat were we are not really singing or cheeing either.
Was generally a bit disappointed with the atmosphere and attitude from a lot of the Ulster supporters not sure how it came across on TV?
I suppose its wishful thinking to hope we'd get the same hardcore support we get at Ravenhill on this scale.

Rodders,
My biggest gripe was that the stadium kept playing music when all I wanted was to hear 40,000 Ulstermen sing SUFTUM!
Teenage Kicks is good and all but it wasn't what I wanted to hear!
Mist of the noise during kicks (final one apart) was from Edinburgh fans while Pienaar was kicking. We were very well behaved!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Cross Keys
Where we were was crazy, constant singing and chanting for 80 minutes. No-one in our section was making noise for place kicks either. This is probably because we bought our tickets from the ST allocation one minute after they went on sale!
The atmosphere in the stadium in general was the best I've ever experienced in that stadium.
Yeah it was incredibly annoying, the stadium PA people obviously didn't realise they didn't need music piped in to create the illusion of an atmosphere for once. If anything it had a detrimental effect on the atmosphere, although for a long time at the start we drowned it out.

The atmostphere in all the matches I watch over the weekend looked pretty good.
And after watching the Crusaders, Highlanders, Leinster and Ulster play I have to say to the Irish, nice work, you have learnt very well from New Zealand at the breakdown

Fair enough Mrs P, its hard to get a perspective of the whole stadium.
Really want to watch this one back on TV. Speaking of which any sign of Mickado?........
I wonder how many fans we will get travelling to Twickenham? I presume their will be more Leinster supporters?
Jeebus can't wait for the final.... I need to spend the next few weeks plotting Leinsters downfall.......

Actually Rodders.
We did manage to get this one recorded so we could include a wee DVD with the "flegs" for a small additional fee!
Need to arrange to get them all to you though. Any plans to visit the smoke soon?

See, Irish brothers in arms.
I follow a few Munster fans on twitter and man- I've not seen so much jealousy and bitterness of a weekend! Why is it always the crepe fans who are most apparent on the internet? Everyone I met in Limerick was incredibly sporting and then you go online...
