I do think both teams made an honest mistake as I know that I didnt realise we had a restriction too.
Saying that if either of the teams played against me - I want that 3-0 result

Kam needs to decide whether it is as Guv says above or as it suggests on the injury page - the week mentioned being the week they return. I don't mind either way but we need to be consistent.

Alright, I'll let you off.
The £3 mil penalty is there more to encourage people to vote rather than penalise those that don't vote. If you can't vote please make sure you let me know and then the penalty will be waived. No more let offs otherwise though!

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Quick poll, against Barce this week should I play 5 at the back with 3 center backs? Or stay with 4 at the back with M'Vila ahead of them to mop up?
Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
You're Chelsea mate. We all know Chelsea are superior to Barca, just look at the CL irl.
Personally I'd go with a back 4 and 2 DMs but your choice.
I have a similar conundrum playing Madrid away. They have Messi now and it always seems to me that anyone with Messi automatically wins regardless of players or formation. I'm tempted to go Spain like and play no striker.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Gone with back 4, grab a goal then in the second half we can always bring Badstuber on for Marin and go:
Walker-Badstuber-Cahill(c)-Howedes-Alaba
As for no striker, it worked for spain and could allow you to keep Messi quiet

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
That's one of the issues with no tactics, sticking up a formation doesn't neccessarily put across what you then want the players to then do.

Quite nervous ahead of this game, Ukraine have to win so will be pumped.
Tactics aren't very helpful when really all they do is big up your players and put down the opposition...

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Not long tactics but just short ones, such as M'Vila will be used to mop up in front of the defense with the team playing out from him and Kroos. We will look to get an early goal and in the second half switch to bring Badstuber on for Marin to go to 5 at the back. Further reinforcement can be made by switching Hamsik for Song.
Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Morning all.
Wasn't impressed with England's performance whatsoever.
ITV were talking them up like they totally dominated the game.
The only positive is that they are through to the quarters have a decent chance.
What are the extra officials paid to do who are next to the goal?

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
You said it Kam. We were awful last night. Whenever the ball went forward we lost possession. How we won that match is a mystery.
But we are through. If Rooney can shake off the cobwebs and perhaps we play Carroll to, hopefully, enable us to keep the ball more in the opposition half then we can get our wide men involved more and give Gerrard and Parker better areas to play.
Wind up Balotelli to get him sent off. Italy have no big target man so will need the passing stuff which plays right into our hands. We are fast becoming masters of winning football matches without having the ball.
Come on England.

Italy may be a bigger problem than first thought.
They can muscle it out and then they have Pirlo who can control that midfield.
I agree winding up Ballotelli could play in their hands.
Di Natalie will be a threat too
Anything can happen now
I love the Euros

Sepp Blatter tweeted this morning 'Goal Line Technology is no longer an option, it's a necessity'.
He's such a nobhead, don't think you'd have seen him say that after Germany beat us in 2010 with that goal Lampard scored which wasn't given.

No disrespect, Gregg, but this defence
Walker---Cahill(c)-------Höwedes---Alaba
Is not better than
Ramos------Terry-------Puyol------Bale

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Lol. It becomes a necessity when England profit from the lack of it.
I hear they are reviewing the use of penalty shoot outs to decide matches now that English clubs are started to win them and the Germans lose them!
I still do not understand why they cannot use TV cameras to determine goal line stuff. There are 100s of them around at the major tournaments and top leagues around the world. It wouldn't cost them much, just include the use of such cameras when negotiating the TV rights deals. Surely the 4th official can get a feed on a monitor and see. Yesterday was tight but it was definitely over. Lampard's in SA was a joke it was so far over.

I still don't understand how the biggest sport in the world hasn't adopted the technology that is already there. Tennis, cricket, rugby do it and it works well. I'd see it most similar to rugby in that it would only be used for goal decisions. It takes 2 mins to go upstairs and get a verdict.

Ramos > Walker
Terry < Cahill (imo)
Puyol >= Howedes
Alaba > Bale (as a left back where I believe bale is poor)
And why have a go at me? I didn't say it was lol. I love how many times Gomez has an off day for me too lol.
Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
I didn't have a go at you (hence the no offence...). I was referring to the prediction.
For me there's no way Cahill > Terry but each to their own I suppose.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Terry is slowing and isn't the player he was, Cahill is one of my favourites at Chelsea now so obviously that alters my opinion.
Okay mate , tbh I was tempted to play song and play 3 dcm's against you this week infront of a back 5 but stuck to my guns.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
The problem with Terry is that people, including me, love to hate him because he's a massive nobhead. If you watch him play though he is still a quality defender and he's proved that for England, not just last night but throughout the tournament.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
I'm not doubting he's still a good defender but he has lost a yard or two of pace. Likewise with Puyol injuries have slowed him down.
Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
I would tend to agree with Hodgey but it is all down to personal opinion. I would agree on the Bale front however since, these days, he plays LW and may well be exposed at LB despite his earlier years playing that position.
Overall though, looking at the respective players, Ramos, JT and Puyol remain automatic first choice picks for their countries. Walker, Cahill and Howedes are amongst the second choice picks imo. Cahill is getting there now. Howedes I have not seen much but he has not played for Germany in the Euros to date.
Gomez is a good striker but he does tend to need a lot of chances to get his goals. Not always obviously but I think there are better strikers out there than him. That's why I sold him. Even Hero sold him, so that tells its own story.
Looks like I'm heading for defeat again. I'm glad Schwein is back next week.
Cabaye or Lampard in CM ?

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Stick with him. He will get you goals. Barca do have the trio of Xavi - Busquets - Iniesta plus Ronaldo/Ribery wide. It's a very strong side and as I said in my predo, I think it would prove too strong for the young side you have. Just my view atm.
I am really looking forward to next season already. Hope Hazard takes the PL by storm. I just wish Nando looked more like his Liverpool self than he does at present. Glad he scored the goals the other day but was disappointed to see him go off for a winger vs Croatia.
What do you make of Hulk? He's making all the right noises about wanting to come to us. I've not really seen that much of him.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
I personally prefer Lampard right now, but Cabaye was fantastic last season and has been decent for France so far this tournament. Against Spain will be a real test of his credentials.
Has Lassana Diarra been excluded from the French setup now? Haven't seen him in their squad.
I'm also excited about the new season, Guv. Kagawa is gonna tear it up!
I don't rate Hulk whatsoever, but the last I heard was that PSG hijacked the move and put in a monster bid? May have been complete rumours though.
