Hero wrote:Aguero last season played for a top 6 club in Spain, whilst his rep was good he'd hardly actually done anything, Hazard and Gotze meanwhile were league champion winners, Hazard twice player of the year (I should have that line saved to copy and paste), I do feel that a lot of the issue is one of perception from the premier league.
Oh and Nani < Hazard or Gotze
Again I would disagree with that as Aguero scored 20 league goals in 32 games the last previous season for A Madrid. Hazard has had only ONE great season and to compare him to Aguero is crazy IMO.
Nani has just as good a record for Utd but media highlight Rooney and Scholes and gets unnoticed IMO
For me Aguero>>Hazard and Goetze easily

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Hazard was player of the season for the past 2 seasons, the previous one of which he was an integral part of Lille winning the title, the two seasons prior to that he won Young Player of the Year.
Where in that is it one good season?
He's consistantly been the best player in France for 4 years now!

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Look at his record...
2011-12 - 20 goals and 15 assists
2010-11 - 7 goals and 10 assists
2009-10 - 5 goals and 8 assists
2008-09 - 4 goals and 1 assist
This past season he has really came of age but before that they are pretty average plus his Europe record is also poor.
He does look promising but can't compare to players like Aguero just yet

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Just assists and goals though don't show a full worth of a player, look at guys like Modric, his rate on both isn't high at all, yet he's regarded as one of the best playmakers going.
The reason his goal/assist rate has risen this past season is because he's playing higher up the field this season and has come into a more central role.

Good point but the difference is that he is performing every year and that is why he is regarded as top class.
Really looking forward to Hazard play actually.
I do hope he lives up to his potential.

So do I. No reason why he cannot. Mata had a great season for us last year. He did fade near the end but we played 61 matches and he featured in most so not too surprising.
Carroll to start today it seems. 0-0 anyone?

But that was my point Kam, in France Hazard was regarded as the best player prior to his increased goal threat last season, he's just added that to his game to make him even better!

I'm very impressed by the direction Chelsea are going and with the players that are coming in. Once they've got shut of the likes of Terry I might even begrudgingly like them a bit.

Not that far, I was still cheering on Bayern in the final!
I'm not someone that hates a team because it's considered what I should do. City and Chelsea I do begrudge the manner in which they gained their overnight wealth but if truth betold it happened with Utd I'd love it, and I've reached the age where I just enjoy the spectacle that is football so can admire players from City and Chelsea etc as just being fantastic footballers.

Anyone here a fan of Darts? Thinking of booking tickets to the World Championships this December, they go on general sale Monday and I'm torn as to whether I will need to take a day off from sixth form to secure tickets.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
One I learned from yesterday's match was no matter how good your attack is, you always need a strong defence.
Holland's defence was shocking and De Jong was pretty useless too.
Fair play to Ronaldo to take them goals as he has been pretty poor himself during this tournament.
Will be trying to focus on my team's defence now

I don't think so bull, aren't week 3 injuries out for 3 weeks so back week 4?
Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
it was not like that in S1 the week was when they returned so if you had a w3 injury he would return on week 3

Then I stand corrected bull, which means fellaini is back
Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Think things are different this season guys. The injury page states that a week 3 injury means a player is out for 3 weeks, not returns in week 3. Otherwise, what was the point of week 1 injuries if they return in week 1?
I also see that there is a restriction of selling 2 injured players per set. It doesn't look like this is always being adhered to though since checking my next opponents I see that 3 of their injuries have gone now. What is the ruling here?

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
You're right Guv - the number mentioned is the weeks injured for so they'll return the week after. Eg. week 3 means they're injured for 3 weeks so available to play in week 4.
I agree about the transfer restriction - been forgetting to enforce that. Kam - can you police this and try to update the injuries page to show which players have been transferred?

Thanks bud.
Does this mean I get a default 3-0 win next up since my opponents have exceeded their limit of transferring out injured players this set?

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
What if rather than a 3-0 loss the offending teams either get another injury or one of the players traded in becomes injured as well?
Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Perhaps the simplest thing, if anyone is really bothered (I'm not really since this is only a bit of fun), is to say that managers can only field 2 of their transferred players where the transfer has got rid of an injury. So in Hero's case, he can pick 2 of Mata, Nani and Messi.
Or perhaps the opposition manager should choose.
Cabaye or Lampard central midfield ?
I've been really impressed with Cabaye at the EC.

Don't think so Brahma. Week 3 injuries shouldn't return until week 4.
The injury page needs updating again I think to say that Week 1 injuries return in week 2, week injuries return in week 3 etc.
