The Dew Drop Inn Virtual HEC Final Rugby Pub, Twickenham
First topic message reminder :
Chin chin and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has arrived in London this week for the Heineken Cup final so has stocked up on cucumber sandwiches ( - KRD ) and Pimms.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Ruan Pienaar, Stephen Ferris, Jonathon Sexton, Rob Kearney and Jonny Wilkinson (the five nominees for the ERC Player of the Year award), Nigel Owens the HEC final referee or Adam Powell (captain of Llanelli RFC who are playing Ponty in the Welsh club final on Friday). The CCTV snaps of Prop_Lyd and the other Cardiff Saracens players on tour in Croatia are fair game though.

I suppose I'd better get my banner ready:
C'mon Afoa, Nacewa, Thorn, & Boss (am I missing any other Kiwis? I'm pretty sure Payne's still injured).

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual HEC Final Rugby Pub, Twickenham
There is a quote by Francois Pienaar that Best/Muller should definitely say if they win.
David van der Sandt asked him so much support from the South Africans helped them to win in 1995. He replied "We didn't have 62,000 fans behind us, we had 43 million South Africans."
I think it would be fitting

Stag, you were saying during the week that you don’t know who you should support.
I think this thread is surely addressing some of your doubts…

I think we all know who Stag is going to support Mick! And it's not the boys in blue I would counter the Saffer quote with this quote from the sadly departing Pedrie Wannenburg (whyyy, rends clothes etc.)
"On Saturday I'll be playing as an Ulsterman, not a South African"

It's his slightly older South African counterpart Stefan Terblnache. Should have known that the term auld fella is pretty ambiguous in this group!

So they didn't go for I humph at ten. I was reading a buildup by Tyrone Howe and Paul Wallace in the Grauniad.

Personally I think playing a centre on the wing and an open side at 7 when you have two decent exponents of those positions on the bench is overly conservative and weakens the side.
