The Dew Drop Inn Virtual HEC Final Rugby Pub, Twickenham
First topic message reminder :
Chin chin and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has arrived in London this week for the Heineken Cup final so has stocked up on cucumber sandwiches ( - KRD ) and Pimms.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Ruan Pienaar, Stephen Ferris, Jonathon Sexton, Rob Kearney and Jonny Wilkinson (the five nominees for the ERC Player of the Year award), Nigel Owens the HEC final referee or Adam Powell (captain of Llanelli RFC who are playing Ponty in the Welsh club final on Friday). The CCTV snaps of Prop_Lyd and the other Cardiff Saracens players on tour in Croatia are fair game though.

I can't remember (ironically) if Kiwi or Linebreaker posted this in here but it is well worth a watch if you or your loved ones play.
It's a documentary about concussion in sport in Oz.

Morning Pub, what a beautiful day!
Mrs Holybloke just stabbed me in the butt with a fork during a tussle over breakfast cereal.
God I love that woman - almost as much as my Kellogs All Bran Golden Crunch.

Well done PJ, you have to spice things up in middle age I'm informed.
Careful though or you may end up with 8 kids like Mrs P.

I struck back by putting the hot spoon from the freshly stirred coffee on the back of her neck.

Morning Rav. Ah, the hot spoon trick. Apparently my grandfather did that to my mother the first time my dad took her home for tea causing her to knock her tea all over my grandmother's best table cloth...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual HEC Final Rugby Pub, Twickenham
very good fellas, sharp for this time of day.
Mrs Holybloke's breakfast cereal of choice is muesli, mine is the Kellogs, this morning she decided to go for the All Bran, a brief struggle ensued from which I appeared to exit victorious with the box of Kellogs; unfortunately she had control of the cutlery draw and I got forked.
If we were teenagers I'd say I was on a promise, however, knowing her as I do, I guess I'm lucky it wasn't a steak knife.
She got the All Bran Golden Crunch... and a red neck.
Honours even.
Dinner should be interesting though. I'm off to work, have yourselves a good day all.

Morning all.
Remarkable coincidence time, last night I had a beer with the Ulster fan (admittedly he was back in his London Irish shirt last night) who ran onto the pitch and got rather firmly escorted out of the ground on Saturday - his girlfriend plays for my netball team.
We got hammered 33-16 last night, for the other team's first win of the season (they did rather well to recruit 2 England players from the previous match when 2 of their own didn't turn up )

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual HEC Final Rugby Pub, Twickenham
I’m up at 6.30 Pete, only have to start interacting with people at 8, so I’ve plenty of time to wake up by the time I arrive in work.
Interview went well, I couldn’t have given it a better shot so I’m happy. I’ll find out today if I got the job or not, which is remarkable really but I’m very happy to not have to wait around.
The job is basically a more “strategic” version of what I’m doing, i.e. not so much to do, more telling other people what to do. Which would be nice!

Morning all.
I'm wondering how to address the fairly major gaps in Glas's "Personal and Social Development" knowledge?
I'm thinking a PM is the way to go? Or maybe send a wee booklet.

Buenas dias, amigos. Glad to hear the interview went well, Mickado - fingers crossed. Busy, busy, busy today, got a whole load of stuff to get through before I have an operation on my hand tomorow (gulp). Not sure what sort of aftermath will ensue but am expecting a frustrating time with my left (dominant) hand out of action. Shopping

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual HEC Final Rugby Pub, Twickenham
We are an uncle, again (this is the 7th and there's another on the way)
I am going to buy my 4 year old nephew something special later. He had big plans, was convinced his mother was having a boy (he already has a sister) and had even told everybody the baby would be called Frank. When he was told he had another sister, he sat down, put his head in his hands and wept!
Any suggestions on the toy front?

Aye indeed and probably wonders why all their christian names rhyme with ducking.
"When he was told he had another sister, he sat down, put his head in his hands and wept!"
Awwww that's heartbreaking, I'm afraid I could only recommend toys for 2 year olds Glas although a light saber is always a winner

Glas, its amazing how kids get isnt it. He may be too young for Lego but some type of similar building blocks for younger kids might work. Or if you were feeling v generous you could go for a kid of sit in car that your can pedal with or your feet can power (like the flintstones had). I had a car like that when I was small.
Maybe even a bi/tricycle.

Lego's is a great idea Stag, my son got his first set when he was 3, it is a little bit bigger than the normal lego's and they don't put everything in their mouths by then.
At 6 my son was a master at reading complex lego builds off plan. (well by complex I mean cars, boats and stuff, not the eiffel tower)
