JWC - Wales v Samoa
First topic message reminder :
Early try for Wales. Welsh scrum dominant, though they have lost their own lineout.

That's twice now. You can't maul in those situations, otherwise it's a penalty.

Should of given a penalty try there really. Samoa colapsed going backwards.

Wales demolise Samoa at the scrum without Samson Lee
Surely there should have been a YC in this game?

Nz will go through as 4th best seeds after racking up a cricket score against Fiji, and will likely face Wales who are probably going to be top seeds, in the play-offs. The Baby Blacks can still win the competition.

Stop mauling! They tried it against NZ and it never worked, just turned over possession

Wales really need to kill Samoa now, 13 men against 15 and their shattered. Lets go for the throat.

Very, very scrappy. I think another try is coming though, it could come from either side. I don't think Samoa have scored a try in this tournament yet?

The tackle was alright in my opinion, it was a good gang tackle by the Samoans.

Damn . So, it's Owen Williams right? Llanelli wing/fly-half? Is he available next year?

Pathetic effort from the Samoan lads though, none of the aggression, big hits or flair we have come to expect of Samoan teams.

Re: JWC - Wales v Samoa
Guys has this Wales team got some new players since the 6 Nations or what.No offence intended but they were pretty poor in that comp and they seem hugely improved.
Maybe it was just a very high standard of 6N this year as I didn't think Ireland would be good enough to beat SA either.

They have their regional players back - Morgan, Hamilton, Prydie, Jones, Walker etc - they also have some good new guys like Dan Thomas and Samson Lee.

I think maybe the standard of the NH has increased a bit, Scotland might have been spanked by Oz but the French have looked good and have just beat Oz and like you said Ireland beat the Saffers. Or maybe just a good batch of NH players this year? What ever it is i like it.

Re: JWC - Wales v Samoa
Wales scored more points than NZ did against Samoa, and a bigger margin of victory. Not bad

During the 6 Nations the regions made use of many of the Welsh boys in this world cup. Matthew Morgan, Habberfield, Ross Jones, Prydie, Eli Walker etc were all around the Ospreys squad when the main boys were away on Wales duty etc. I think that's the difference.

It's not offensive at all, I was one of the Wales U20s biggest critics during the 6 Nations, apparently we were missing 14 players. The guys with regional experience coming back in have clearly made a difference. A fair few of the forwards seem to have stayed together since though, so that 6 Nations must have acted as a good foundation. My dream final would be Wales vs England with Wales taking the spoils, we owe them a big one after being physically dominated for years.

Re: JWC - Wales v Samoa
For Samoa today: Wales U20s : Ross Jones (Ospreys); Tom Prydie (Dragons), Cory Allen (Blues), Thomas Pascoe (Blues), Eli Walker (Ospreys); Matthew Morgan (Ospreys), Tom Habberfield (Ospreys); Rob Evans (Scarlets), Kirby Myhill (capt, Scarlets), Samson Lee (Scarlets), Rhodri Hughes (Ospreys), Matthew Screech (Blues), Luke Hamilton (Blues), Daniel Thomas (Scarlets), Dan Baker (Ospreys).
Replacements : Darran Harris (Blues), Gareth Thomas (Carmarthen Quins), WillGriff John (Blues), Ieuan Jones (Drgaons), Ellis Jenkins (Blues), Jonathan Evans (Dragons), Sam Davies (Ospreys), Jack Dixon (Dragons).
Scotland in the 6N: Wales Under-20: Ross Jones (Bridgend/Ospreys); Iolo Evans (Llanelli/Scarlets), Luke Williams (Cross Keys/Dragons), Cory Allen (Cardiff/Blues), Luke Morgan (Bridgend/Ospreys); Sam Davies (Swansea/Ospreys), Jonathan Evans (Bedwas/Dragons; Rob Evans (Carmarthen Quins/Scarlets) Kirby Myhill (Llanelli/Scarlets, capt), WillGriff John (Cardiff/Blues), Matthew Screech (Cardiff/Blues), Rhodri Hughes (Swansea/Ospreys), Ellis Jenkins (Cardiff/ Blues), Daniel Thomas (Llanelli/Scarlets), Ieuan Jones (Pontypool / Dragons).
Replacements: Darran Harris (Blues), Thomas Davies (Cardiff/Blues), Dan Suter (Bridgend/Ospreys), Thomas Young (Blues), Dan Crimmins (Cardiff), Joshua Davies (Newport/Dragons), Jordan Williams (Scarlets), Dominic Franchi (Dragons).
Cory Hill is our toughest 2nd row, if he hadn't been ill he would have more game time, but as I suggested the forwards aren't changed much, just have better depth than the 6 Nations. There's a fair few still available next year so hopefully we can have a decent campaign after a fairly decent JWC.

Good to see Wales U20's keeping up the pressure even with all the changes coach's keep implementing and breaking up the momentum. Shame Morgan went off, his replacement does not offer a running game.
Well done, nice to see our best players in the competition.
