JWC - Wales v Samoa
First topic message reminder :
Early try for Wales. Welsh scrum dominant, though they have lost their own lineout.

Yeah, him and Habberfield work really well together - but it is the Welsh forwards I have been impressed with, they are providing the 1/2 backs with very quick ball and protecting possession very well.
There must have been 10+ scrums in this half already.

any standouts so far from either side so far?
Sampson Lee seems to be playing, he is a magnificent scrummaging tight head prop, probably the best option Ireland have!
Alyn you always say this. Does he even have Irish parents? Has he ever set foot on that island?
dude it's a long standing joke, the irish always try and nick at least 1 player a season! Loxton and Jarvis last year, an attempt on Tom Prydie the season before that, so clearly Sampson Lee is the guy this season!
I know, those pesky Irish poachers trying to steal welsh players and south african props! I didn't know they tried to steal Prydie, what's the story behind that? He's got an Irish granny has he?
Something like that I think, then there is the ruddock brothers from the Ospreys academy...

I think it said Swansea on the WRU profile.
Ah that explains his strong scrummaging.
Speaking of which, its a Welsh scrum in Samoan territory.
Try coming...

The scrum is incredible. They're smashing them back every time. Baker looks a very good 8, making yards every time he get's the ball.

SAMSON LEE
Position: PROP
Date Of Birth: 30/11/1992 (19)
Place Of Birth: Llanelli (Wales)
Height: 181cm / 5'11"
Weight: 113kg / 17st 11lbs
I have seen him listed as 18 and a half stone recently, so the Llanelli profile is off. Must of eaten a few Ospreys recently...
Saying that I have also seen him listed as 5'10" as well so maybe he shrunk too! :o

Morg, that was the reason Prydie actually gained his full caps for Wales before going back into the international abyss.
That along with Gatland wanting to make headlines and take the pressure of the welsh squad after some poor performances....

Got a lot of time for Hamilton and Thomas, can you imagen the ref trying to tell them apart at a glance when they're on the floor scrapping for the ball. The No.8 Baker is a lot quicker then he looks aswell.

Sorry I meant "eaten with" the Ospreys.
We all know the Ospreys front row lives in Nandos in Swansea!

It a tactic. The ref sees them all over the pitch and then assumes it is one very good 7 - so therefore cannot to anything wrong.

Can we not get all of the players grooming the same way at all age groups?

Samoan scrum completely demolised
But they get it out somehow.
Poor clearance - Welsh lineout on 5M
Poor throw and Samoa get it.

How tall is Cory Allen? It's been pretty effective having Prydie stand at outside half btw .

6"3' - he should be playing a lot more for the Blues next season.
Good to see he is getting gametime at 13 - we need him there more than at 12.

Be good if we could get them all with the same haircut. Ref would have a breakdown.

no17 butchers a clear try by not passing.
But the no12 scores in the other corner.

I'm glad were starting to see a bit of Eli Walker, he really doesnt do rain as the New Zealand game proved last week, but give him a bit of space and a hard pitch and he's a silky runner.

Nice. 3 big centres and a big wing coming through. Not as big as the seniors yet though.

Awful pass from Samoa
Prydie snatches it an saunters under the post - he's a very casual try scorer.
