Re: Liverpool FC Thread
I'd like to think Norwich are a beatable side, and I really hope Borini isn't fit so that Rodgers has no choice in whether to start him or not, he needs to be dropped for a bit. Assaidi has the pace and skills to be a real threat so he should be on. Sterling and Assaidi either side of Suarez. A midfield three of Sahin, Gerrard and Allen and a back four of Johnson, Skrtel, Agger/Coates, Enrique sounds decent enough.

Re: Liverpool FC Thread
Wisdom starts for Liverpool, with Johnson still at left back I assume. This pretty much confirms that Enrique is not part of Rodger's plans I think.
Suso also starts, perhaps on the right wing.

What has happened to Enrique? He looked an absolute steal when we signed him.

Apparently Enrique and Downing have both been told to buck their ideas up. Can see them both leaving in January.

Re: Liverpool FC Thread
I feel slightly let down again by Rodgers, I understand he sees things in training that we don't necesarily see, but I feel that Downing and Enrique are both being punished for the mistakes they made last year. No players appear to be getting chances to make up for poor performances last year under the new manager, Carroll and Adam were quickly let go, and Henderson, Downing and Enrique have all been frozen out.
Rodgers needs to realise that while blooding the youngsters in is good for the club, experienced heads like Enrique and Downing is good, and to get rid of either or both would leave the team desperately short in depth in two more positions to go with the lack of strikers.
People seem to have forgotten how good the Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique back four was for a long period before Agger and Johnson picked up injuries.

Re: Liverpool FC Thread
Great first half from us, Suarez finished both goals superbly. Second was superb, nicked the ball off the defender and struck it with the outside of his boot.

A good confidence boosting win, still problems at the back, but hopefully Suarez can keep his goalscoring form, scored as many as Van Persie now, with both scoring hattricks.

I think your play has been good from what I've seen of your team and the result was the big plus.

Yeah from the outside looking in for me the result was definitely the most important factor on Saturday, Liverpool have played well on most occassions this season, it was time to match that with results in my opinion, now they've got something to build on

Re: Liverpool FC Thread
Udinese are going to be a tough team to play, I think we can win, but they were only a penalty away from being in the Champions League group stage so clearly they're a good side.
I'd be happy with any form of win, however scrappy. I'd start Shelvey, Downing, Borini (if fit), Coates in this game.

Good news for us is that Italian sides never travel well, Di Natalie has fallen out with Udinese management and like ourselves they have not played their strongest side in the competition so far.

I have to admit I was sitting there in awe of some of your passing at points. It wasn't the possession, but you seemed to have more of a quickness to it, one and two touch stuff, compared to what Swansea did last season which was slower paced

Suarez loves Carrow Road. Easiest hat trick ever for him. Blind footballers would put up a sterner test than little ol Narrich!

His hat-trick last season was the third best I've seen behind Rivaldo's against I think Valencia and Berglamp's against Leicester.

The best I saw was Rooney's against Fenerbahce. Just because of the context. Can this kid really justify that price tag?

Re: Liverpool FC Thread
Have you seen Rivaldo's?
Barca needed to win to make it through to the champions league. He had already scored two very good goals when in the last minute, with the score at 2-2, he chested the ball down from outside the area and with his back to goal, scored from an overhead kick to win it.
Magnificent!

Hi lads, United fan in peace (shock!!)
Playing Fifa 13, I noticed they seem to rate Oussama Assaidi really highly, but haven't seen much of him in the league so far? What's he like in real life??

Re: Liverpool FC Thread
It depends how Udinese line up Kenny, last year they fielded a weakened team against Rennes in the first game but fielded a much stronger team in Glasgow in week 2, by the time we went to Italy to in week 6 they had their full strength teram out and after watching them against Arsenal I was really surprised with how well we played against them and should have beaten them, this despite the fact they were top of Seria A at the time.
I'd like to see Liverpool beat them and think an up for it Liverpool team will, what I noticed last season was that they didn't like being pressed high up the park, so it depends whether the Reds will press or stand off, again it might depend on what kind of side Liverpool field

I think we can expect a mixed line up tonight of youth and experience which should see us earn a win.

Saw a few tweets earlier that suggested the line up would be:
Jones
Wisdom Carra Coates Robinson
Shelvey Suso Sahin
Downing Borini Ossadi

If true that is a bold move by Rodgers.
I would have thought Enrique and maybe Gerrard or Allen would start.

I wonder if Rodgers will ever field the same 11 twice in a row?
And if he doesn't will the media bang on about like they did with Rafa.

Re: Liverpool FC Thread
I'd be tempted not to start Sahin, as he's clearly settling in much better so can be used in the big games now, but not sure who he can be replaced with. Hope he does start Borini as a striker and he can score a goal to boost his confidence.
I'm a bit disappointed that Carragher continues to be selected despite the clear drop in ability over the past two years. Rodgers risks alienating Danny Wilson if he continues to select an over the hill Carragher based on past reputation. I thought moves would be made now to get Carragher a role in the coaching team.
I'm not going to be able to watch the game as I'll be at work, but I'm 50/50 as to how the game will go. I'd take a draw I think now.

How is Jack Robinson progressing for you guys?
I remember him having a game or two in the first XI a year back, and he looked like a real prospect. I wondered whether you might send him out on loan this season, so he can get some experience?

Udinese have started the season poorly, only won one game out of 6, they're nowhere near the team they were last season or the season before, I fully expect Liverpool with a high tempo to beat them
