The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Antananarivo Arms, Madagascar
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Antananarivo Arms Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Madagascar, where 35,000 raucous fans recently watched the home side upset Namibia in a 110-point thriller.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of the Madagascan team war dance, Japan/NRL-bound Sonny-Bill Williams, Bradley Wiggins and the prematurely-retired Mark Boucher above the bar.

Rava certainly sounds like it. I'm happy enough that I'll have it completely ready in the next few days. I took the completely free DIY job. Took longer but its a quiet enough time at work that aside.

Pity it isn't Belfast mate. Would love to see you again. Maybe next time?
Hope so. I am away for this season, or we'd have been over pal. Wifey knows a family over there too, so it's another excuse.
Great to hear from you Billy

Easier said than done, isn't it? Do you have wheels or skiis?
It takes a few goes before the leg muscles and tendons get used to walking again... but keep at it - it gets easier the more you move.

and when you're tired.... and before you nod off (after medication) do the little 'warm down' exercises like toe wriggles, flex thighs, turn neck gently (or elements from your physio). Seems a bit silly but you're telling your body 'who is in charge' and repairing all those connections on a micro level - then you can waft off to sleep feeling more accomplished in your recovery.

Ha! that's where I've been going wrong then!
Would help if I had something interesting to add......nope, can't think of anything
Lucky - yes I am thanks, met up with one of my pals today. Then I went looking for city guide books and couldn't find what I wanted. Was amused to listen to a guy ask for a copy of 50 Shades of Grey "...cause the missus keeps goin' on about it, like". Yeah right!
Off until Saturday, then I'm off down to Pembs for a couple of days.

You should join in the Lions debate then.
Have a nice weekend. Me, Mrs R and Miss R are off to Engerland on Sunday for a few days. Meeting with the Asbo's on Sunday which should be nice.

Yeah it's funny, I appreciate Pembs more now as a visitor than when I was growing up there. I used to hate living there.
I'm watching The Sunday Game from last weekend...,the Galway/Kilkenny match was a corker.

Oh nice Rava - are you headed South West? It's been a bit of a washout down there, but hey you're from Nordie Ireland, so you should be used to it I'm sure the Asbos will keep you entertained anyway.

It was indeed. Crok v Clare was a borefest, we had the game won after 5 minutes. A friend of my brothers is starting for the hurlers on Saturday, since my brother is 20 next week this lad is probably only 19!

He started for the footballers on Sunday Cari, was on the bench for the hurlers last week. We won't mention Seanie Johnston, Cads has been duelling for far longer. Starting on Saturday against Wexford in the hurling too.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Antananarivo Arms, Madagascar
Anybody in pub see the prog on Rory Gallagher on Sky Arts last night - fantastic stuff, loads of clips of the main bluesing away on his battered old stratocaster. God what a guitarist, what a singer, what a tragedy he died so young. All sorts of tributes from Slash (minus the top hat) all the way across the spectrum to folkies like Martin Carthy.
Close your eyes and at times Rory sounded like Roy Keane, and had the same attitude at times - I'll do what I want - no singles and if the record companies don't like it.
Brought me back to that famous gig in Macroom in the mid-1970's - can't remember exact year but I was a student at the time. A memory to treasure

His guitar is in the library in the city centre. He is the best guitarist of all time. Eve the other "greatest" said so. I remeber rocking out to that as a 5 year old on the way to Tesco. (our childminder was slightly crazy but had a great taste in music!)

His guitar is in Cork, he set up his band in Cork, apparently considered himself a Corkman, is buried in Cork. If he hadn't moved to Cork he mightn't have broken out with Taste. He is buried in Cork too.

Notch, you're not wrong there. You are surprised with the amount of crime that occurs in the city.
Any guesses for what store is most robbed in Cork (and I take it Ireland) ?

Doug Howlett lives in Cork so no!
He is an honorary Cork man, Rory is a hybrid really we can both lay claim to him. Us more so because he would be nothing without his early career which started in Cork You're getting wound up easily Rodders! He is both really.

As a neutral from the capital, have to go with Thomond on the great debate on whether Rory G is a Donegaler or a Corkie - certainly didn't keep much of his Donegal accent when he moved south at age eight. Started learning music in Cork, set up band in Cork, speaks like he lived in Cork all his life. Pains me to say so, but he's a Corkie QED
