Geordie, nothing wrong with this thread, but Hersh's England strip OP was originally a separate thread on which Radge first repliedGeordieFalcon wrote:Erm Radge...whats wrong with this thread?

It was a completely different topic!
Basically I was after information regarding the release of the new England kit.
But as ever some people took offence to the word ‘England’ being used in the rugby section and reported it to the mods!

Once again HERSH is ommiting certain facts.
The thread read New England strip..... I clicked on the thread out of genuine interest to see it only to have in the meat of the article
coming soon.....
This left me a little bit upset since the post had no value, interest or merrit, and it has been now merged with this decent and productive thread.
Hope that explains my comments Geordie

Oh the irony!
I can't find any news of the release hence the 'coming soon!'
I was hoping that some enlightened soul on 606v2 knew something.
It's getting very tiresome having to explain everything.

It was the typo Hersh. If you'd said "Coming Soon?" everyone would have clicked. Instead it came out almost like one of Portnoy's old "Can anyone guess what I'm on about before we start debating" ones

I think they should have done rugby stripes, but yeah it's pretty nice and smart to play on the name.

The Scarlets one seems to be more about the sponsor than the team.
Someone should tell Dyfed Steels that this is not a workers uniform with a nod to a rugby team tacked onto the front.

Thats a bit harsh, the Scarlets dragon is pretty clear on the shirt (the big wing wrapped around etc). That said the Dyfyd Steels logo is something of an eye-sore, and makes my misses a bit worried that it will wash off in the machine.

I'd also say the Scarlets Dragon is pretty prominent as well - it's def a Scarlets shirt.
I don't mind the Sponsor either as we've had them for a while and they are at least a big company from the region and identifiable as such (rather than a foreign company)

Re: New Rugby Shirts - Post your club or country shirts here.
Having a green logo is fine if the rest of the shirt was green anyway (Northampton, for example).
I think that Tim Gunn from Project Runway should design all of the kits.
Not just the Chiefs and Stade Francais offerings.

Fair point, priest. I like the design, just never been sure about the jobby brown colour of the away strip?Smirnoffpriest wrote:I'd also say the Scarlets Dragon is pretty prominent as well - it's def a Scarlets shirt.

I don't like that dragon wing bit. A simple scarlet (colour) jersey with the Scarlets badge on the breast would have been better.

I can't stand the away shirt - IMO the less said about it the better. I always thought away shirts were meant to be a completely different colour to the home (so if we were playing Munster away say red/red wouldn't work so we'd change to something distinctive) but this brown rubbish wouldn't work (red/brown and red is still pretty similar).
The Blue from last season should have been kept, and the green from the season before (which I didn't get on with) was better than this attempt!

TBH my favourite Edinburgh kit for about 3 years..... like it a lot.
Only problem when I show the Mrs and say I'll be buying it I get the usual : "how do you never look like that when you wear rugby shirts"

The kilts might discourage the opposition players from tackling low down, or getting into rucks with them 'brave' Burgh boys...

I thought that was a Newport kit 1st of all, as all I could see on the badge was Newport.
It is very Neath like as you say, and a shame they've dispensed with the red patterns that made last seasons kit so distinctive.

It's a decent jersey. I don't like the new sponsor, but money's money I suppose.
Do we know who decides on shirt designs? Someone must have made the decision to get rid of the red we had last season.

You could make the Rodney the Dragon outfit the team kit, and people would still moan about it having nothing to do with the region.

That would be classic - though you'd have to leave the dragons 'head' off for Toby Faletau's afro to come out (once he bother's growing it back!)

Looking at some of the photos on welshrugbypics - there is a red on it like last season's home kit but more feint
red on shirt
People at Rodney parade decide on shirt designs I beleive - they get a choice of 4 or so and narrow it down - that's what people on Dragons forum have said anyway.
Would be better if they let the fans vote like they did for the charity shirt
